644: Chapter 57: Take Care, Big Bro 644: Chapter 57: Take Care, Big Bro As always, it was the generosity of Boss Luo that moved him — Nero was devouring the food the maid had brought out at an astonishing speed.

Despite this, You Ye spoke politely and apologetically with similar explanations: I’m really sorry, Ms.

Nero, because it was so sudden, so we could only offer you some leftovers from last night that we originally planned to throw away.

I hope you don’t mind… Oh right, we’re out of salt in the kitchen, so if it’s too bland, feel free to dip it in some soy sauce… What?

This is vinegar?

I’m really sorry, I didn’t expect to grab the wrong one, I’m terribly sorry, it seems I’m still not familiar with Eastern condiments.

As your maid, I’m really unqualified, allow me to replace it for you…

But the beer is certainly well chilled.

“… So, did I somehow upset you, maid?”

After drinking a large glass of beer in one go and letting out a satisfied burp, Nero smiled and looked at our Boss Luo again.

“I remember Ms.

Nero once mentioned that if you visited again, it would be because you planned to take refuge…” Boss Luo skipped a topic that did not need further exploration.

“Hmm… Did I say such a thing?” Nero blinked her eyes boldly and said: “Probably not, right?”

Luo Qiu smiled without a word.

Nero shrugged and pulled out a box from her body — it was the box Boss Luo had given her previously, used for conveniently storing souls.

Once the box was opened, a dozen or so luminous clusters of light immediately rushed out, floating around Nero.

Only then did she suddenly say, “Well, the truth is, I’m being hunted by some guys.

If it’s convenient, can you heal me a bit and then… let me hide here for a while?”

As soon as she finished speaking, a mouthful of fresh blood overflowed from Nero’s mouth, and as her eyes shut, she directly collapsed onto Luo Qiu.

Recently, Boss Luo’s reflexes were becoming increasingly better, and at the moment Nero fell, he sidestepped.

Thus, the owner of the Yama Sword, once one of the fighters of the Michael Club, directly face-planted on the club’s floor — lying flat on the ground.

“It seems she’s quite seriously injured.”

Just then, the maid walked out carrying another tray of food.

She looked at Nero, who had fallen flat on the ground, but did not intend to help her up.

She merely said indifferently, “She has been forcing herself since the moment she came in.

This guest is also a stubborn person.”

Luo Qiu retained five of the floating balls of light and then returned the rest to their original box, saying, “Since we accepted the transaction payment, let’s get to work.”

As he spoke, Nero’s body began to float, and after Boss Luo circled around Nero’s body once, he extended his finger and tapped it on Nero’s forehead.

He tapped lightly.

A ripple-like waveform began to radiate from her forehead, spreading across her entire body.

At the same time, a large amount of bluish-purple smoke began to emanate from Nero’s body.

Even in a coma, she displayed a pained expression, and her body exuded a large amount of sweat due to enduring this expulsion.

At the moment the bluish-black smoke was completely expelled, it transformed into a gigantic, hideous wolf’s head in mid-air… This manifested wolf’s head seemed unwilling to be vanquished so easily and roared fiercely before madly lunging at Luo Qiu.

Luo Qiu remained motionless, and the shadow of the wolf’s head couldn’t even get within a foot of him before it was directly consumed by a cluster of black flames.

Those were black flames flicked by the maid’s fingers, their tails lingering in the air, like light and shadows imprinted on a camera film.

“Master, this feels like the power of a curse… Hmm, this energy has a chilling sense.”

The burning black flame eventually returned to You Ye’s palm.

The maid gently clenched her five fingers to extinguish it before saying softly, “There are residual energies of what the Eastern monsters call demonic power in it.

Roughly estimated, the one capable of injuring Ms.

Nero should be at the level of a huge powerful monster in the East, or a high-level monster with very special abilities.”

Luo Qiu nodded, then instructed, “Go out and erase Nero’s traces nearby.

Since the guest requested to hide, let her hide.”

“Understood.” The maid nodded respectfully.

Boss Luo replied softly: “There’s still time in the evening, let’s go buy Christmas decorations.”

With a smile, You Ye headed out the door.

…

In the crevices between the building corners of the city, several black shadows were clinging to the wall at very high speed, climbing up to the rooftop of a twenty-story building.

These shadows eventually gathered on the rooftop, kneeled on one knee behind a young human man with gray-black hair.

“Young Master, we’ve lost the woman’s trail.

She seems to have vanished suddenly.”

The youth addressed as the Young Master turned around, displaying a typical Eastern face but with peculiar violet pupils, “Batu, even a tracking master like you can’t find her?”

“It’s my lack of ability, please punish me, Young Master!” Batu’s head immediately lowered further.

The Young Master shook his head, “First, gather your demonic aura again.

After all, this is the territory of the true dragon… Although I can’t feel her aura, the True Dragon Qi still entangles this city.

Additionally, there is a surge of unusual monster power.”

Another subordinate suddenly spoke: “I heard that the aggressive Sun Xiaosheng is also in this city.”

The Young Master nodded: “So it’s that mysterious monkey monster.

I’ve heard of it… We’ve tracked all the way here for the stolen clan treasure, so try not to provoke Sun Xiaosheng.

Since the breach of the last Tanlang from decades ago, our Greedy Wolf Tribe had to exercise more caution.”

Batu suddenly said: “Then Young Master… What about Master Long?”

The Young Master calmly replied, “With Master Long’s capabilities, our mere presence here would have been noticed by her immediately.

Now that there are no reactions from her, she probably has left temporarily due to certain matters.

But this doesn’t matter, just be careful not to disrupt the humans in this city.

This place is unlike the Siberian plateau, pay extra attention.

If Master Long blames us, I will personally apologize.”

Another subordinate angrily said: “What bad luck!

Originally, we were to attend the Penglai Covenant, but unexpectedly, we encountered such a despicable thief halfway, wielding that weird weapon and slaughtering over a dozen of our brothers!

If she died from your attack, that would be good, but if she’s not dead, I will definitely capture her alive and bring her back to the tribe, and light up the sky lantern!”

“Yeah, I wonder if we will miss the Penglai Covenant because of this.” The last subordinate sighed.

The Young Master waved his hand: “For centuries, the Penglai Covenant has long been flavorless, missing it a couple of times doesn’t necessarily mean we miss out on something.

However, our tribe’s treasure cannot be lost… Expand the search range, find her alive, or see her corpse, under no circumstances can we let our clan’s treasure slip away.”

“Understood!”

They transformed into shadows once again, dispersing into the prosperous city.

The Young Master gazed at the city yet again, his violet pupils held circles of light patterns, “Strange, why is the city’s spiritual energy so abundant.

Furthermore, apart from Master Long’s True Dragon Qi and Sun Xiaosheng, what else is drawing me in, so familiar, yet also…

The Young Master squinted his eyes, “Makes me uncomfortable.”

…

On the open ground, a flying soccer ball fiercely hit Zhuifeng’s face.

Cheese, Nini, and Xiaojiang quickly approached, “Zhuifeng, what’s up with you?

Why are you zoning out?”

Zhuifeng scratched his head in confusion, picked up the soccer ball on the ground, “Maybe… it’s because I’m hungry?”

“Who’s hungry?

I brought cake and scones!”

A cheerful laugh sneaked up behind the group, “Quietly,”

As she heard it, Nini beamed and turned to say, “Brother Xiaofei, you came!”

Mo Xiaofei handed over the cake and scones with a sigh, “It would be great if I didn’t know your true age, but now that I know, and you guys still call me brother… it’s quite despairing.”

With a serious expression, Zhuifeng said, “Big brother, how many times have I told you, if you hadn’t risked your life to save me that day, I might not be here… Maybe I’m just not accustomed to it…”

Mo Xiaofei scratched his head… still feels uncomfortable.
