642: Chapter 55: Jet Lag 642: Chapter 55: Jet Lag Just before dawn, the black SUV slowly drove away from the parking space in front of the park gate.

Da Zhe yawned again…

The Black Soul envoy certainly wouldn’t feel tired physically, but mentally it still felt that way.

“Are we going to follow now?” Da Zhe curiously asked Number 18.

Number 18 finally spoke, “I admit I made a mistake.

I didn’t carefully investigate when choosing this master, just went with the feeling that he seemed alright.

But now it seems, at least, he has something he desires.”

Da Zhe perked up and said, “What would he want?”

Number 18 said indifferently, “A man, not returning overnight, preferring to stay outside working, going so far as to deceive his wife about not coming home, what do you think it’s for?”

Da Zhe frowned and said, “Are you saying…

he has a poor relationship with his wife?”

Number 18 sneered, “Men being greedy and tired of the old is the most normal thing.

Even without probing with Past dreams, it can be distinguished roughly.”

“What is Past dreams?”

“It’s my ability, none of your business,” Number 18 said coolly.

Then why did you bring it up…

Da Zhe shook his head, then rubbed his chin and said, “However, even if he doesn’t want to go home, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s greedy and fickle.

Men sometimes really just want to be alone, you know?”

“Heh,” Number 18 said dismissively, “Are you saying you understand the master more than I do?”

Da Zhe shook his head, “Of course I don’t understand as well as you do…

but I understand men, especially married men.

For example, just wanting a personal space is a very normal thing.

Besides, if it’s said he’s fallen out of love, why would he still work here?

Going to have fun in bars and nightclubs would be much more enjoyable, wouldn’t it?”

“If it were true love, there would be no deceit.

Once deceit is involved, the relationship is no longer pure.

Men have never been anything good!”

Lady, have you been triggered by something…

“Alright, let’s not discuss this matter okay?” Da Zhe waved his hand and said, “Anyway, you wouldn’t understand the feeling of a man sometimes just not wanting to go home.

I don’t know how to explain it to you, even if I did, you wouldn’t get it.”

“Are you mocking me?” Number 18 said coldly.

“No, no, it’s just that men understand men better,” Da Zhe quickly said, “By the way, do we still need to follow…

we’ve run quite far already.”

…

…

Zhu Maolin would make his actions as light as possible…

usually at this time, when returning home.

But there was already a pair of slippers placed at the entrance, and the hallway light at the entrance was still on, probably since it was turned on no one thought to turn it off.

Zhu Maolin silently put on the shoes, glanced at the food covered with a gauze cover in the living room, and then went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Then he returned to the room, still trying his best to make his steps lighter, even his action of lying in bed was done cautiously.

The time on his phone was set, but it wouldn’t disturb his wife, as he knows she leaves for work early every morning.

So his day ended at 5:17 a.m.

…

Her day starts at 7 a.m.

Waking up, seeing her husband right beside her, then washing up, followed by preparing breakfast, knowing no matter how late he returns, he will always leave for work on time, rain or shine, never late when not on leave.

Then she goes to work.

At 7:40, she prepared to leave, writing a note on the table to remind to eat breakfast—of course, the food left from last night was all thrown away.

…

8:30 a.m., the phone rang, Zhu Maolin opened his slightly bloodshot eyes, hurriedly got dressed and washed, the clothes he was going to wear today were already prepared on the rack, even a tie was matched.

Then he frowned slightly, casually changed one from the closet, picked up his briefcase, and rushed out the door.

As soon as the door to the house was closed, Zhu Maolin came back, grabbed a piece of toasted bread from the dining table, and then left again.

It was 8:45 a.m.

by now.

…

At 8:50 a.m., she opened the door to her Pottery Art Classroom, waiting for her students to arrive.

She is an artisan, and this classroom was where she and her husband met.

The first student arrived, an older woman, coming from a wealthy family, in fact, here just to pass time.

“Teacher Yu Han, today you’re early too, is there anything you need to do?

Shall I help you?”

“No need, just prepare yourself first, alright?” She…

she’s called Hou Chen Yuhuan.

Hou and Chen.

Following her father’s surname and also her mother’s, it seems because her father was no match for her mother, hence the maternal surname even took precedence.

“Teacher Yu Han, why haven’t we seen Sister Li and Sister Zhang today?”

“Today…

well, Mrs.

Li said she’s dining out with her husband, not coming.

As for Lady Zhang, it seems she’s accompanying her son to see a piano teacher, not coming either.” Hou Chen Yuhuan thought and then agreed.

“Oh, I wanted to invite Sister Li for lunch.

What a pity…

Teacher Yu Han, how about we go out for lunch together?

Anyway, you don’t go home for lunch either.”

“Sure,” she agreed without much thinking.

She’s also afraid of being alone…

eating lunch, or dinner alone.

At noon, the two women, a decade apart in age, squandered some time in a nearby restaurant, with random, unimportant conversations.

The topics were trivial gossip, truly a time waster.

…

1:43 p.m.

“Manager, the lunch is here, let’s eat first!”

A colleague named Xiaowang, brought back lunchboxes for the whole group single-handedly, and everyone swarmed around.

Zhu Maolin held the lunch box, continuing to mull over some small details.

He hurriedly took a bite of plain rice, remembered something, and immediately asked, “Tboy, is the model confirmed to arrive here at 3 p.m.?”

“Yes, she assured me she would definitely come.” Tboy quickly replied; “Being entry level guys, she values this opportunity and wouldn’t dare be late.”

“That’s good.

If the model isn’t a problem either, let’s get it done by tonight.” Zhu Maolin nodded, eating a little more.

But he didn’t even know what he was eating, consuming food was just a mechanical action.

This was pineapple, which he didn’t like eating before.

…

At 7:30 p.m., Hou Chen Yuhuan brought takeout home, eating dinner while watching TV, watching TV and taking a bath, then reading a book, finally feeling sleepy, she fell asleep.

At 12:15 a.m., that’s the end of her day.

…

The things for today’s supplementary shoot did not go smoothly, the real person was not as ideal as the photograph, so Zhu Maolin rejected it, ultimately having to delay for another day helplessly.

At 3:30 a.m., a bit early, he lightly got back into bed once more.

His day has come to an end, again.

…

Day after day.
