The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2299: Facing an Alpha-Omega Overgod Prototype

The flame burning within Skull Lord’s hollow eyes was sharp and merciless, every fragment of his attention locked onto the Neo-Angel before him. Each swing of the Neo-Angel’s sword imposed its will upon reality itself, forcing space-time to slow around Skull Lord’s massive form. The crushing pressure did not merely hinder movement—it weighed upon thought, intent, and reaction alike, as though the universe itself demanded submission.

Yet Skull Lord did not yield.

The True Depravita answered oppression with defiance. The thrusts of his weapon carried a momentum that ignored resistance, a force that pierced through layered laws and oppressive mass alike. His power did not halt, did not stall, and did not diminish. Every impact fed the next, creating an unbroken chain of acceleration that surged forward with terrifying inevitability.

The sky trembled as their clashes intensified. Shockwaves rippled outward, tearing clouds apart and blotting out the heavens. The very firmament groaned beneath the strain.

Then, abruptly, the flames in Skull Head’s eyes flared—sharp, focused, alert.

Something had appeared behind him.

The new presence took the form of a massive, hunched stone golem, its elongated arms hanging so low they nearly scraped the ground beneath their own weight. Its body was fractured, riddled with cracks that glowed with molten gold light, as though ancient power struggled to hold the shattered stone together. Its oversized hands and feet spoke of overwhelming brute strength, of slow but devastating force.

Yet that was not what drew Skull Lord’s immediate concern.

Within the abomination pulsed the unmistakable aura of a Neo-Angel.

Not refined.

Not complete.

Wild, chaotic, and riddled with flaws.

”A Prototype,” Skull Lord judged instantly.

As one of the highest authorities of the Life Path, he knew well of the Ancient One’s failed experiments—creations forged in constant agony, sustained by unstable life force, doomed to short and violent existences. Flawed as they were, they still possessed terrifying power.

Skull Lord pushed the knowledge aside and calculated rapidly. The Prototype alone could not kill him—but even a moment’s delay would be enough. One second of distraction would allow the Neo-Angel before him to land a decisive blow, perhaps even a fatal one.

Unfortunately, just as Skull Lord was about to respond, the Neo-Angel released a crushing weight across the sky, so immense that even the True Depravita could not break free, leaving him defenseless to the attack.

Just as the Prototype’s massive arm descended, space ignited.

A sword bathed in scarlet flames tore through the air, releasing a torrent of fire that slammed into the golem and hurled it backward across the sky.

For a fraction of a second, Skull Lord and the Scarlet King locked gazes.

No words were exchanged.

None were needed.

Both nodded once and returned instantly to their battles.

Skull Lord had known Cain was advancing toward the Fourth Realm, yet even so, the speed of his arrival astonished him. Still, this was no time for questions. The True Depravita offered silent thanks to fate and lunged forward, his sword surging with power enough to skewer a sun, ready to repay the Neo-Angel for that ambush.

On the other hand, the Neo-Angel felt nothing but fury.

This battle had been prepared for a long time. He had awakened a Prototype despite its short lifespan, sacrificing resources and stability alike for this single confrontation. Every calculation had been precise—every contingency accounted for.

And now, all of it was unraveling.

He burned with the desire to crush Cain beneath collapsing stars, but the moment had passed. His only remaining option was clear.

Fight the True Depravita head-on.

He wielded his sword with everything he possessed.

A detonation followed, so violent that the heavens shook.

Cain felt the explosion behind him, its force strong enough to send tremors through his back, but he did not turn. His full attention remained fixed on the prototype.

”Blood Sovereign Entry.”

Sky Devour blurred, its movements compact and impossibly fast. The Prototype’s defenses were formidable—cosmic stone reinforced by unstable divine force—but Cain cut through regardless, slicing into its interior. The damage itself was minimal.

That was never the goal.

The wound allowed Viral Will to seep inside, Imperium Seeds spreading through the creature’s soul pathways, infecting its structure, slowing its responses, corroding its power from within.

The Prototype roared, a sound filled with rage and pain, and retaliated. Its massive arms swung down again and again, each strike capable of shattering Cain’s body outright.

But raw strength was not enough.

The abomination lacked refinement. It lacked experience.

With the Imperium Seeds weakening it from within and the Flow revealing every pattern and flaw, Cain dodged each blow with precise efficiency. Every counterstrike pierced deeper, Sky Devour carving further into the unstable form.

”Adaptive Severance.”

The sword reshaped its edge, matching the prototype’s frequency. It phased through defenses and severed not only flesh, but function itself. Power bled away from the creature in fragments, its strength unraveling piece by piece.

The balance was perfect.

Internal decay.

External dismemberment.

The Prototype’s power diminished steadily, each movement slower than the last, each attack weaker than before. Cain moved flawlessly, exploiting every opening, his exhaustion held at bay by discipline and the Imperium Battle Style’s relentless efficiency.

A faint smile touched his lips.

Even drained, this art allowed him to fight enemies far beyond his current limits.

Elsewhere across the battlefield, the tide shifted violently. Meylin and the Enlightened One struck with perfect timing, exploiting the element of surprise. Several powerful ArchDeities of the Freedom Path fell almost instantly, severed before they could react.

The warriors of the Life Path erupted with exhilaration, their morale surging upon seeing the reinforcements arrive. In contrast, rage and frustration burned in the eyes of those aligned with the Freedom Path as they fixed their hatred upon Cain and his companions.

None of it mattered.

The trio pressed forward without hesitation.

Minute by minute, the situation worsened for the Freedom Path.

”Damn it!”

The Neo-Angel roared, hatred twisting his expression as he saw the prototype faltering and his ArchDeities falling. Teeth clenched, fury boiling over, he finally made his decision.

He withdrew.
