The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 2258: Empyrean World Inheritance - Doomsday Art

Cain rested within the cultivation grounds of the Scarlet Crown, recovering from the battle within the Heart of the Root. His physical body had no wounds, all of them already healed due to the power of his Samsara Immortal Body.

However, the pressure his soul had endured when that mysterious entity seized control of him had been immense. Were it not for the evolution of his Inner Universe and the resilience granted by the Rebirth Heart, he would have emerged severely wounded. Even now, his soul force remained unstable, making it hard for him to utilize all his power.

The primary goal was simple: restore himself to peak condition, return to the Golden Hall, unveil everything he had learned, and convince the others that the only viable path forward—the only way any of them could survive—was to carry the fight directly into the Heart of the Root.

Doing so would not be easy. Even if the leaders agreed, countless obstacles would appear along the way. For that reason, Cain wanted his strength, clarity, and presence to be absolutely flawless before the moment came.

Fortunately, the Scarlet King was not alone. Thanks to Ao, the life force of all continents across the Everstrife Empyrean World now flowed freely at his disposal. It only took a few days before his soul once again vibrated with power and energy, whole and unburdened. His spiritual presence expanded, then settled, radiating with calm authority.

Cain exhaled deeply and adjusted his mental state, reviewing potential scenarios for his return to the Golden Hall. He was midway through planning when two figures suddenly manifested within the room. An old man and a young child with red eyes appeared without warning. They were none other than Ao and Aioro, the World Will of the Everstrife Empyrean World and the embodiment of its deepest consciousness.

Cain raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise breaking through his usual composure. ”What brings you here?”

Normally, he would have greeted the two with a level of courtesy befitting beings that governed the very fabric of their world. But time was not a luxury any of them possessed—not when a universal calamity loomed overhead. The Root was forging its winning card; the universe itself teetered on the edge of collapse. Formalities had no place here.

Ao and Aioro understood that perfectly, which was why they wasted no time.

”We came to deliver you this,” Ao said, turning toward the young child.

Aioro inhaled slowly, and a strange tablet emerged from his chest—phasing through his form like ethereal light—before floating toward Cain.

The instant Cain’s gaze fell upon the tablet, a wave of awe, shock, and profound amazement crashed over him. The principles engraved within it resonated with a level of power beyond anything he had ever encountered, surpassing even the most advanced techniques contained within Legion’s memories.

Cain stared at the duo with widening eyes. Only one term could describe a technique of this magnitude. ”An Empyrean World Inheritance?”

Aioro performed a solemn nod. Ao continued where he left off. ”The strain placed on the universe by the Root has forced the Universe Will to redirect vast amounts of energy into the potential of the Empyrean Worlds, preparing them for catastrophic scenarios. As a result, the Everstrife Empyrean World has grown and completed its Natural Inheritance—a power we believe will greatly aid your next objective.”

Cain’s eyes glowed faintly as he listened. It made sense. The Universe Will would mobilize every resource available to combat the Root. After all, the Root was no ordinary threat; it was an extinction-level adversary whose power could unravel existence itself.

After giving the old man and the child a firm nod, Cain took a deep breath and immersed his consciousness into the tablet. His awareness sank into its structure, deciphering the core nature of its power and abilities. The more he absorbed, the more his heart trembled with anticipation.

”Doomsday Art.” The name was simple, but the weight behind it was terrifying.

It was a body-refinement technique consisting of three levels. Completing the first stage alone would grant a physical refinement on par with the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance while simultaneously restructuring the channels of vital energy throughout his body into a protective matrix that shielded the soul itself.

And that was only the beginning. The deeper the technique went, the more absolute its defensive capabilities became. This was precisely the kind of power he needed if he hoped to reach the Ninth Layer of the Heart of the Root alive—and with enough remaining strength to destroy the decapitated head.

As he studied further, he found that the principle underlying its cultivation was surprisingly straightforward: death and rebirth.

”Only that which dies endlessly can live eternally,” Cain recited, the mantra of the Doomsday Art echoing through his mind.

”Essentially, I will have to use my own power—my Laws, Star Power, and every form of energy at my disposal—to annihilate my muscles, bones, divine cells, organs, astral marrow, even the conceptual frameworks that anchor my existence. Then, using endless vitality and energy, I must reforge myself stronger. The more thorough the destruction, the faster and higher I ascend.”

As he analyzed the requirements, Cain realized the process was brutally direct. Unlike the Eclipse Monolith Inheritance or other high-level cultivation arts, the Doomsday Art did not require unique Laws or obscure cosmic conditions. It simply demanded the strength to destroy oneself and the vitality to rebuild.

Of course, ”simple” did not mean ”easy.” The danger was immense.

Each time one destroyed their own body, there was a risk of pushing beyond the threshold of recoverability, of dealing so much damage that the body collapsed before it could be reforged. The guidance inscribed within the tablet made the warning clear.

Even those born with First-Order talent and perfect foundations could die attempting it.

Yet Cain only smiled.

For others, the technique was perilous—perhaps even suicidal.

But for him?

Thanks to his Samsara Immortal Body, destruction and rebirth were not obstacles. They were his natural rhythm.

He would succeed!
