Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 194: Y-10 AircraftChapter 194: Y-10 Aircraft

Then, Ma Fengshan went straight to the point.

That is to merge the Y-10 aircraft design and development team into the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

”This……”

Although Lin Chenran guessed the purpose of Ma Fengshan’s trip.

But after Ma Fengshan expressed his thoughts, he still hesitated!

The Y-10 aircraft!

”Boss Ma, I remember that your Y-10 aircraft project has been stopped by the higher authorities, and all members have been dismissed. The research and development data has been...”

Song Xiyun on the side expressed his doubts.

The Y-10 aircraft design and development team was disbanded by higher authorities to make way for McDonnell Douglas, and even the few test aircraft were affected.

Thousands of tons of Y-10 jigs, tooling and moulds were moved out of the factory built for the Y-10 and piled up in an open square, exposed to the sun and rain.

”That’s right. We just want your 077 Machinery Military Factory to take over the Y-10 aircraft project. This is an important national resource.”

”Now it’s exposed to the sun and rain.”

Ma Fengshan was deeply distressed about what happened to the Y-10 aircraft.

This was the result of half his life’s hard work and his ”most proud product”, but it was just abandoned outside.

Ma Fengshan said distressedly: ”Now only the 077 Machinery Military Factory has the strength to take over our Y-10 aircraft project.”

In fact, Ma Fengshan was also forced into a desperate situation!
The domestically produced Y-10 large aircraft project is nearing completion and various tests are about to be completed. According to the current progress, it is estimated that it will only take about half a year for these large aircraft to be delivered to major civil airlines and put into use.

At this critical moment, the higher authorities reached a cooperation agreement with the Eagle-Sauce McDonnell Douglas Corporation and decided to abandon the Y-10 aircraft project.

……

Lin Chenran’s brows were tightly furrowed, and a solemn look appeared on his face.

He was well aware that the cooperation conditions proposed by McDonnell Douglas contained huge traps, and its purpose was to make Yan Country’s large aircraft project a complete failure.

”Mr. Ma, may I ask if the Y-10 aircraft, molds, related materials, and design and development teams are still intact?” Lin Chenran suddenly asked.

Ma Fengshan replied solemnly: ”General Lin, although our Y-10 aircraft and corresponding molds have been moved out of the factory and placed in the open air, we have properly covered them with waterproof cloth and will not be greatly affected in the short term.”

At this point, Ma Fengshan’s tone became worried: ”It’s just...”

Lin Chenran secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this.

As long as the Y-10 aircraft, molds, information and R&D team are still there, then there will be no problem.

If the data is missing and the R&D team is disbanded, there will be too many problems to solve after the 077 Mechanical Arsenal takes over.

”Boss Ma, welcome to join our 077 Mechanical Military Factory.”

Lin Chenran said with a slight smile.

”Really?”

”General Lin? Are you, the 077 Machinery Military Factory, really willing to accept our Y-10 aircraft design and development team?”

Ma Fengshan showed an incredible look on his face.

He didn’t expect that Lin Chenran would take over their Y-10 aircraft design and development team.

”Really, our 077 Machinery Arsenal has always welcomed excellent design and development teams to join us.”

Then Lin Chenran joked, ”According to your progress, the Y-10 aircraft will be delivered soon. By then, our 077 Machinery Military Factory will directly reap the benefits.”

Suddenly, laughter broke out throughout the conference room.

”Boss Ma, I will discuss with the military and ask for your Y-10 aircraft design and development team, the Y-10 aircraft, and the corresponding molds and information from the Shanghai Aircraft Research Institute.”

”Choose a few factories in the 077 Mechanical Military Factory to serve as temporary bases.”

”Then we will rebuild several large factories for your entire Y-10 aircraft project.”

Lin Chenran made a promise directly to Ma Fengshan and all the members of the Y-10 aircraft project team present.

“This…” “Thank you, Mr. Lin!”

Ma Fengshan and members of the Y-10 aircraft design and development team were extremely excited.

Members of the research and development team of the Y-10 aircraft project, who had encountered obstacles everywhere, felt a different kind of ”warmth” for the first time.

”Boss Ma, don’t be moved yet.”

Lin Chenran smiled slightly.

”Forehead?”

”On condition?”

Ma Fengshan thought that Lin Chenran would put forward various harsh conditions, and his heart tightened.

”For the Y-10 aircraft project, our 077 Machinery Military Factory can provide you with sufficient funds, but the Y-10 aircraft must be delivered within half a year.”

“And we also need to study larger aircraft.”

Lin Chenran stated his conditions.

”Half a year is no problem. I can issue a military order.”

When Ma Fengshan heard that the 077 Mechanical Military Factory fully supported the Y-10 aircraft project, he took the risk and made a direct guarantee to Lin Chenran and the senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Military Factory.

The Y-10 aircraft will definitely be delivered within half a year.

“We also want to design and develop larger aircraft?”

Ma Fengshan became puzzled.

”That’s right. The Y-10 aircraft can only be used for short-distance flights. The distance of the aircraft is too short. I need a large aircraft with a long distance to open up long-distance routes.”

”I want to compete with McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and Airbus for the civil aviation market.”

Lin Chenran doesn’t want to make a small fuss.

Of course, we must benchmark against the world’s top large aircraft manufacturers when we make our first move.

”This……”

Ma Fengshan was frightened by Lin Chenran’s ambition!
Wow, it’s directly comparable to the first-class large passenger aircraft manufacturers.

Members of the Y-10 aircraft research and development team were all shocked.

”Forehead?”

”Don’t be nervous, our 077 Mechanical Military Factory has the strength to do this.”

Lin Chenran said with a smile.

”We at 077 Machinery and Military Factory have no shortage of funds and technology. We believe in everyone’s strength.”

Lin Chenran continued, ”Boss Ma, I would like to make a request to your Y-10 aircraft design and development team.”

”As you know, our country still has a blank in the field of large early warning aircraft. I want you to develop a large early warning aircraft based on the Y-10 aircraft.”

Early warning aircraft have the advantages of a large surveillance range, a high degree of command automation, a large target processing capacity, and strong anti-interference ability. They are usually far away from the front line, deployed in depth, and have fighter jet cover when on duty, and have high work efficiency.

”Develop a high-altitude early warning aircraft based on the Y-10 aircraft?” Ma Fengshan was instantly surprised.

I didn’t expect Lin Chenran to be so understanding!
Even the airborne early warning aircraft knows!
”That’s right. The Eagle Sauce, the Russian Bear, and many other countries are developing large-scale airborne early warning aircraft, but our country is really blank in the field of early warning aircraft.”

”I guess the superiors are cooperating with McDonnell Douglas, and they may be targeting their early warning aircraft technology.”

Lin Chenran expressed his guess.

”Yes, but we don’t have the corresponding talent in our design and development team, so we need support.”

Ma Fengshan agreed without hesitation and asked for support.

”No problem, the relevant people will be in place in time.”
