Gaps in radar technology could put one side at a disadvantage in combat.

The opponent’s third-generation fighter jets are equipped with advanced active phased array radars, so they will be able to detect our fighter jets in the first time and take corresponding actions.

In contrast, if our J-10 fighter jets cannot detect the enemy in advance or detect each other at the same time as the enemy, then our advantage in air combat will be greatly reduced.

Can such a J-10 fighter be called a true third-generation fighter?

Its various standards do not fully meet the requirements of third-generation fighter jets.

In fact, it is more like a fighter between the second and third generations, belonging to the second and a half generation fighter.

After hearing Lin Chenran’s words, the members of the J-10 fighter jet design and development team at the scene looked embarrassed.

They realized there was a problem with their design.

It feels like a child being caught lying, feeling ashamed and helpless.

Lin Chenran then continued: ”I stick to my point of view. I think the design and development of the J-10 fighter must be forward-looking.”

”We cannot lag behind foreign third-generation fighters in terms of performance in the early stages of design, otherwise our fighters will never catch up with the international advanced level.”

After listening to Lin Chenran’s words, Song Wen agreed with the other party’s idea very much.

He expressed his gratitude to Lin Chenran and promised to seriously consider his suggestions.

”Mr. Lin, your idea is very correct. We will go back and revise it.” Song Wen said very humbly.

He then said with emotion: ”It turned out to be a wise choice to come to the 077 Machinery Arsenal this time. It made our entire design and development team realize that the J-10 fighter jet we designed and developed had many shortcomings.”

Hearing the other party’s tone become so humble, Lin Chenran naturally gave him a way out: ”Chief Designer Song Wen, the design of the J-10 fighter is generally excellent, and we have learned a lot of knowledge.”

“I didn’t expect the design of a fighter jet to be so complicated.”

Everyone loves to carry the bridal sedan!
If others respect you one foot, you must respect them one yard.

Then, Chief Designer Song Wen continued to explain the mounted weapons and equipment of the J-10 fighter.

It can carry various medium-range air-to-air missiles, active-seeking medium-range missiles, air-to-ground, air-to-ship missiles and various laser-guided bombs.

In terms of mounting, Lin Chenran was quite satisfied.

The J-10 fighter is a third-generation fighter. It has many more combat missions than the previous second-generation fighters, and requires it to be more outstanding.

……

After Song Wen briefly explained the J-10 fighter jet, Lin Chenran took the lead in applauding. Seeing this, others followed suit. For a moment, thunderous applause broke out in the entire conference room.

When the applause gradually died down, Song Wen said with great emotion: ”We came to the right place today, the 077 Machinery Military Factory. It made us realize that the J-10 fighter jet we designed and developed has so many shortcomings.”

”Mr. Lin, your suggestions are very valuable. We will accept them with an open mind and go back to make revisions.”

Lin Chenran quickly waved his hands and said modestly: ”Don’t say that, Chief Designer Song Wen, we are all learning from each other. Your design concepts are also of great value to us and have benefited us a lot.”

He knew not to be too conceited, lest he come across as overbearing.

Then, Chief Designer Song Wen put forward his own requirements for the special composite materials used in the J-10 fighter. He said that this special composite material must have high strength, high toughness and high temperature resistance to ensure the safety and reliability of the aircraft in high-speed flight and complex environments.

At the same time, he also emphasized the importance of the lightweight characteristics of this material in improving aircraft performance.

Chief Engineer Song Wen turned his gaze to Lin Chenran and asked, ”Director Lin, can your 077 Machinery Military Factory meet our requirements for this special composite material?”

Faced with this question, Lin Chenran did not answer directly, but responded with a smile: ”Chief Engineer Song, regarding special composite materials, I would like to ask Hu Xiaofan, the person in charge of the special materials project of our Mechanical Military Factory, to give you a detailed introduction.”

”Mr. Hu is an expert in this area.”

Lin Chenran smiled slightly and invited Hu Xiaofan beside him to answer Chief Engineer Song Wen’s questions.

Hu Xiaofan cleared his throat and began to speak: ”Dear leaders, our 077 Mechanical Military Factory has been committed to the research and development of special composite materials.”

”At present, we have developed a variety of high-performance special composite materials to meet the needs of different fields.”

Then, Hu Xiaofan gave a detailed introduction to several special composite materials they developed, including their performance parameters, application scenarios, etc.

These materials have been rigorously tested and verified and have good reliability and stability.

Hu Xiaofan thought seriously for a moment, and then said: ”According to the design requirements of the J-10 fighter, I have selected several special composite materials that are more suitable from the existing special composite materials of our 077 Mechanical Military Factory for your reference.”

”These special composite materials have high strength and toughness, while also being able to withstand a certain level of high temperatures.”

After that, Hu Xiaofan handed the relevant information to Chief Designer Song Wen and other members of the J-10 fighter jet design and development team for their careful review.

Chief Designer Song Wen and others looked through the materials and exchanged opinions with the experts around them from time to time.

After a while, he raised his head and said to Hu Xiaofan with satisfaction: ”Boss Lin, Engineer Hu, the several special composite materials provided by your 077 Machinery Military Factory are very suitable for our needs.”

”It’s a very difficult time for us to make a decision.”

The design and development team of the J-10 fighter jet was faced with a difficult choice.

The main reason is that the several special composite materials provided by the 077 Mechanical Military Factory are all excellent and meet the needs of the J-10 fighter.

Suddenly, laughter broke out in the conference room.

Originally, the J-10 fighter design and development team thought that the 077 Mechanical Military Factory would not have special composite materials that fully met their needs.

Unexpectedly, the 077 Mechanical Military Factory gave them a big surprise.

The 077 Machinery Military Factory has a variety of special composite materials that meet the needs of the J-10 fighter design and development team.

”Chief Engineer Song Wen, you can choose carefully, don’t be in a hurry.”

Then Lin Chenran joked, ”Our research and development of special composite materials is very rapid. Maybe by the time you use them, our special composite materials will have new breakthroughs.”

Suddenly everyone in the conference room burst into laughter.

Indeed, according to the design and development speed of the J-10 fighter, the 077 Mechanical Military Factory may not have developed more advanced special composite materials yet, and it may not have been designed, developed or produced yet.

The main reason is that the J-10 fighter jet has to solve many problems, and they are very difficult.
