Building a Technological Power Starting with the Type 59 missile and Going Astray in Technological Development

Chapter 190 Cutter Suction DredgerChapter 190 Cutter Suction Dredger
Today, the 704 Shipyard is in a stage of rapid development, but it faces an urgent problem: there is not enough time to train a large number of professional talents.

Merging other domestic shipyards has become a very good option, which can directly obtain experienced workers and technicians and avoid the long cycle of cultivating talents from scratch.

This proposal requires Lin Chenran to personally discuss with the Yan State military.

However, the personnel arrangements need to be made by the senior management of the 704 Shipyard.

Then Lin Chenran said to Pan Xueming, the director of the 704 Shipyard: ”Boss Pan, a large number of skilled workers will be coming soon. Please lead the senior management of the 704 Shipyard to help make proper arrangements.”

Hearing this, Pan Xueming couldn’t help but wonder: ”A large number of skilled workers?”

He quickly understood the deeper meaning.

Pan Xueming secretly sighed in his heart: Our General Lin has an all-powerful background, so if he wants skilled workers, it will be easy for him to get them!
Now that the problem of skilled workers has been solved.

Next it was the turn of the senior executives of the 704 Shipyard to speak.

Lin Chenran asked the senior executives of the 704 Shipyard present to elaborate on their respective job responsibilities, future plans and suggestions for the development of the factory.

The first person to speak was naturally Pan Xueming, the factory director and chief designer of the Aegis missile destroyer.

Pan Xueming gave a very comprehensive and detailed introduction to the 077 Shipyard to Lin Chenran and several senior executives of the 704 Mechanical Military Factory.

Lin Chenran and several senior executives of the 077 Mechanical Arsenal recorded the useful content.

Especially after the 077 Mechanical Arsenal injected a large amount of capital into the 704 Shipyard and ”grabbed” the order for missile destroyers from the Yan State Navy, the entire shipyard instantly came to life.

Not long ago, the oil tanker developed by the 704 Shipyard was favored by customers and a relatively large order was placed.

There was also the construction of other civilian vessels.

The current 704 Shipyard is receiving continuous orders.

……

”Mr. Lin, we want to develop a cutter suction dredger.”

Pan Xueming looked at Lin Chenran nervously, his hands clenched tightly and his palms slightly sweaty.

He didn’t know whether Lin Chenran would support this idea, and his heart was filled with anticipation and anxiety.

When Lin Chenran heard this proposal, his eyes lit up and he immediately showed great interest.

Although his main research and development direction is not ships, he has heard of large-scale engineering equipment such as cutter suction dredgers.

”Cutter suction dredger? This is an interesting project.” Lin Chenran said excitedly.

Seeing that Lin Chenran was so interested in the cutter suction dredger, Pan Xueming finally felt relieved and a bright smile appeared on his face.

As long as Lin Chenran is interested, they will likely get enough resources and support to carry out this project.

”Mr. Pan, I am very interested in the cutter suction dredger you mentioned. Could you give us a detailed introduction to its working principle and application areas?” Lin Chenran asked with a smile.

Pan Xueming readily agreed: ”Of course! I am happy to introduce the cutter suction dredger to you.”

Then, Pan Xueming began to explain in detail the structure and working principle of the cutter suction dredger: ”The cutter suction dredger uses a rotating cutter to grind up the soil on the riverbed or seabed, then sucks the silt into the pump body through the suction pipe and transports it to the designated discharge area through the discharge pipe.”

He went on to explain: ”This type of dredger has the advantages of high efficiency and flexibility, and can operate in various water environments.”

”It is widely used in fields such as waterway dredging, port construction, water conservancy projects and marine engineering.”

”In addition, cutter suction dredgers can also be used in engineering projects such as land reclamation and sea reclamation, which are of great significance to improving land use and economic development in coastal areas.”

Pan Xueming continued
”With the cutter suction dredger, we can quickly extract the required river sand from the river to meet the needs of national development.”

After Pan Xueming’s explanation, everyone present had a clearer understanding of the cutter suction dredger.

”Mr. Pan, after your introduction, we have realized the importance of cutter suction dredgers.” ”Do you have a design and development plan?” Lin Chenran asked decisively.

Ask the other party whether they have a design and development plan for a cutter suction dredger.

”some!”

When Pan Xueming heard this question, the corners of his mouth slightly raised and he revealed a confident smile.

He seemed to be confident in the plan in his hands.

The joy in my heart is harder to suppress than AK.

Then, Pan Xueming showed everyone the simple missile design and development plan for the cutter suction dredger through a projector.

”Mr. Lin, we plan to design three cutter suction dredgers.” Pan Xueming threw out another astonishing news, which surprised everyone present.

Before Lin Chenran expressed his agreement, Pan Xueming directly announced that they would design and develop three different types of cutter suction dredgers.

The three cutter suction dredgers are small, medium and large. They vary in size and function, but all have the ability to efficiently dredge sediment.

Medium and small cutter suction dredgers are mainly used for inland river operations. These vessels are flexible and compact and can adapt to the complex environment of inland rivers and complete various dredging tasks.

Large cutter suction dredgers are suitable for marine operations. They have more powerful power systems and greater digging capabilities, and can cope with the challenges of harsh deep-sea environments.

Although large cutter suction dredgers are powerful, the market demand may be limited.

Large cutter suction dredgers are expensive to build and have relatively high maintenance costs.

The leasing business will become an important way to make profits.

Small and medium-sized cutter suction dredgers have broader market prospects.

With reasonable price and stable performance, private enterprises will be willing to purchase small and medium-sized cutter suction dredgers.

“Mr. Pan, I have a good market prospect for small and medium-sized cutter suction dredgers, but I think it is difficult to sell large cutter suction dredgers.”

A senior executive of the 077 Machinery Arsenal expressed his views on large-scale cutter suction dredgers.

Anyway, I just don’t think highly of large cutter suction dredgers.

There is no other way. According to Pan Xueming’s design, the large cutter suction dredger is 140 meters long and 27.8 meters wide.

This data is quite explosive.

The senior executive of the 077 Machinery Military Factory felt that no company would be willing to purchase this large-scale cutter suction dredger.

It’s way too big, and it’s bound to be very expensive.

This is not something that ordinary companies can afford to purchase.

”Boss Shen, if we can’t sell it, we might as well lease it!”

Pan Xueming expressed his thoughts.

704 Shipyard directly launched new business.

”This……”

”It’s not a loss to rent a ship. You have to know that the cost of maintaining such a large ship is very high.”

“Can the rental fee cover the cost of its maintenance?”
