Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 622: Shocked (Bonus)

After Bella walked away, she watched Nathan quietly. When Nathan looked frustrated, Evelyn squinted her eyes while muttering, ”Should I help him? Maybe I should give him a clue about how to do it. But this might not be a challenge…”

While she was thinking, she noticed Nathan had gone up as though he were trying to do something.

”Eh? Whatʼs that middle finger? Heʼs concentrating on his ena there? No, wait. If I look at it closely, the ena in his entire arm is actually traveling back to his heart, isolating the ena in that finger.

”As a result, there is no ena that will interrupt the flow of the ena he is going to release. Wait. You can actually release the ena this way?

”But it wonʼt be as powerful…” Evelyn was forced to swallow her statement when she noticed that the ena in Nathanʼs finger was not just concentrated but also compressed. Just like how the air would burst and create an explosion when it was released from its compressed form, the ena would be releasing a massive burst once it was released.

”Ah… You can actually do it this way?” Evelyn gasped as she took a step back.

”Fucking Gun!” Nathanʼs shout echoed all the way to the mansion as he released a beam that was so powerful and massive that it could travel halfway through the lake before exploding.

Boom!

The explosion kicked up the lake, creating a massive wave.

At the same time, the burst of ena actually created a recoil that blew Nathan 20 meters (66 feet) away.

”Gaaaahhhh!” Nathan was startled as he hurriedly covered his body with ena so that he didnʼt get any injury.

”What the…” Nathan gasped. However, his shock was interrupted by Bellaʼs voice from the third floor.

”What the hell is that, Nathan?”

Nathan turned around. ”What? Did you see that?”

”Are you insane? What the hell did you do? It looked like a discharge technique, but I had never seen something like that before! Also, why did you use your middle finger? Didnʼt you use your index finger to shoot before? Are you doing something dangerous?”

Evelyn was as shocked as Bella. Her back was drenched in sweat.

”I did tell him he only has 5 days to accomplish the challenge, but itʼs only been 12 hours…

”Not only did he succeed, but he also created a new discharge technique!” Evelyn blinked her eyes a few times.

Nathan just made a peace sign while smiling at Bella. ”As a wise man once said, ʼAll roads lead to Rome.ʼ I combined several concepts to do that. Itʼs not the same as the one the captain shows me, but I donʼt think you can find any fault in that as well, right? After all, ena has infinite possibilities. Not accepting it means limiting that possibility.”

Bella was utterly speechless. Nathanʼs talent might not be as good as Selenaʼs in terms of ena manipulation.

However, his strength was in the bullshit or more like random knowledge of the power system in a lot of stories. He was able to adjust them to suit the concept known in this world.

”Thatʼs right.” Nathan hurriedly turned around and headed to the lake again. This time, he wanted to test it with his Dragon Fist.

He used the same technique with the Dragon Fist by compressing the ena in his palm before punching forward.

Dragon Fist.

The ena in his palm burst from his fingers and it had the same effect as the previous technique. However, due to the unique flow of the Dragon Fist, it felt like a dragon became alive as soon as it emerged from his fist.

Roar!

Its appearance was similar to the long body that the eastern dragon possessed. Still, the Dragon Fist made an impact and exploded, causing an even bigger explosion.

”Waaahhh!” Nathan was startled because the recoil this time launched him all the way to the wall of the building.

”Gah!” Nathan gritted his teeth, trying to get out of the wall. Unlike the Dragon Fist the Dragon King showed to him back then, the dragon actually came alive in his version.

On the other hand, the dragon in the Dragon Kingʼs version roared on his hand while releasing the same impact.

Just like how Alavenya actually improved her own version of Dragon Fist with her Second Drive, this was Nathanʼs version of the Dragon Fist.

”Hahahaha. I can finally use it!” Nathan pumped his fist. ”All I just need to do is perfect this technique to remove the recoil. Once Iʼm done, this will be my discharge technique!”

Bella pinched the bridge of her nose. ”What the hell did you do? Are you sure thatʼs not a dangerous method? I need to confirm whether itʼs safe for use or not.”

”Eh. Sure.” Nathan nodded.

Bella leaped off the window and fell not far from him. She walked to him while inspecting Nathanʼs body up and down.

”There donʼt seem to be external injuries,” said Bella while brushing the dirt off his clothes. ”Do you feel—?”

Bella stopped as though she noticed someone behind Nathan. Nathan frowned and turned his head around, finding Evelyn to appear out of nowhere. ”Whoa? Captain? Since when are you here? No. Why didnʼt you say anything? Are you trying to make me get a heart attack so that I donʼt pass the challenge?”

”Ignore her for the time being.” Bella sighed. ”I need to check your condition. Do you feel any pain?”

”No. I protected myself with my ena at the last moment, so it wasnʼt that painful. I was just startled most of the time.” Nathan shook his head. ”As for my ena, there doesnʼt seem to be a problem, including the flow of ena.”

”Really?” Bella grabbed Nathanʼs right hand and inspected it carefully from the outside appearance to the ena flow.

”Hmm… there is indeed no side effect. It doesnʼt seem to be harming your body or the flow as well. What did you do? The process is not harmful, right?”

”The process, huh? I just—mmf?!” Nathan wanted to reply, but Bellaʼs hand immediately covered his mouth.

”You shouldnʼt really say such a thing easily. This is your technique, so you should name it yourself and only tell that if you want to teach your disciple.”

”Itʼs fine. Itʼs not a big deal anyway.” Nathan shook his head. If such a concept worked, he might be able to bring more knowledge from stories to life. He would just treat this one as an experience.
