Stop Fooling the Us, China Really is Doing This!

Chapter 323 Meteorite Falls from the SkyMusk’s joke did nothing to improve the oppressive atmosphere in the command room!

The other high-ranking officials of the Eagle Nation all had gloomy expressions!

As stakeholders in this operation, they were in no mood to listen to jokes; they only found the scene incredibly ironic, their hearts filled with bitterness and unwillingness.

President Biden gritted his teeth and squeezed out a few words through the gaps: ”Shut off the live stream! There is no need to keep watching!”

Thinking of the Mars landing project, which had consumed vast amounts of capital and countless human and material resources, and which he had hoped would allow them to hold their heads high and restore the glory of the Eagle Nation, only for it to serve as a wedding dress for the Dragon Nation and make them even more prominent, he trembled with rage, wishing he could immediately terminate this live broadcast that caused him to lose all face.

At this moment, the Secretary of State hurriedly advised against it: ”But Mr. President, this might be our first opportunity to intuitively obtain intelligence about the Dragon Nation’s colony!”

”If we shut off the live stream now, it will be as difficult as ascending to heaven to spy on the Dragon Nation’s colony in the future! Although our mission got off to a bad start, we must at least salvage some useful information from this.”

Upon hearing this, although President Biden was still furious, he understood that the Secretary of State was making sense!

After weighing the pros and cons, he could only sigh helplessly in the end and brace himself to continue watching, his expression as bitter as if he had eaten coptis.

On the other side, the three astronauts had devoured the vegetables in the basket like a whirlwind, still looking unsatisfied, smacking their lips as they savored the wonderful taste, secretly sighing in their hearts that this was indeed the most delicious vegetable they had ever eaten in their lives, wishing they could eat more.

However, the Dragon Nation had already issued an eviction order; although their attitude remained polite, it also carried an unquestionable firmness. Clearly, there was no chance for more.

In the end, the three astronauts had to stand up sullenly, unwillingly putting on their spacesuits, preparing to leave this place that they both loved and hated.

Just as they had finished putting on their spacesuits and were about to step out the door, an unusual sound suddenly came from above. The sound initially resembled faint, muffled thunder from afar, but in the blink of an eye, it became increasingly clear and sharp, like a funeral bell rung by the Grim Reaper, unsettling everyone.

Everyone instinctively looked up, and at this sight, they all gasped in cold air.

They saw that in the sky, densely packed meteors were rushing towards them like raindrops at high speed. The brilliant tails of fire streaked across the orange-red sky of Mars, and at first glance, it even had a unique sense of beauty.

Most of the audience in the live stream were seeing meteors from such a shocking perspective for the first time, and they were instantly attracted by this spectacular scene, with the comments flying like snowflakes.

”Wow, so beautiful! There are too many meteors, it’s like a meteor shower, so spectacular!”

”Hurry up and make a wish, hope I can get rich overnight, hehe!”

While everyone was immersed in this rare spectacle, the three astronauts were terrified out of their wits, their faces instantly turning as pale as paper.

Because they clearly saw that these meteors were not some romantic embellishment, but were rushing straight towards the Dragon Nation’s colony where they were located. Moreover, as the distance closed, the size of the meteors grew rapidly; those were clearly huge meteorites carrying destructive power!

What was even more fatal was that there weren’t just one or two, but hundreds or thousands of them! They covered the sky, as if they wanted to completely swallow this land.

Now, the netizens also gradually realized the danger, and the style of the comments changed abruptly, filled with worry and fear.

”Oh my god, if these meteorites land, the consequences will be unimaginable! I’m afraid this Dragon Nation colony will be razed to the ground!”

”Although one can tell from the dense craters on Mars that meteorites are common here, this is too scary!”

Seeing these meteorites, the original displeasure on President Biden’s face gradually disappeared, replaced by a well-hidden but hard-to-conceal anticipation.

He prayed secretly in his heart: ”Smash it down! Smash it down! Smash hard into the Dragon Nation’s colony! Yes! Don’t cut the live stream; I want to watch the Dragon Nation’s colony be completely destroyed by the meteorites! Let the Dragon Nation also know that interstellar colonies are not so easily built, hmph!”

At this moment, he was already blinded by anger and jealousy, not even caring that his own astronauts were also in danger and very likely to be smashed to pieces by this meteor shower. In his heart, as long as he could see the Dragon Nation make a fool of themselves and suffer setbacks, nothing else mattered.

Watching those meteorites get closer and closer to the Dragon Nation’s colony, it was even certain that a small portion would definitely hit the colony’s buildings. The whole world seemed to have been pressed on mute; billions of viewers didn’t dare to breathe, staring at the screen without blinking, their hearts in their throats, nervously waiting for the destructive scene to arrive.

The three astronauts looked at each other, their eyes filled with despair. One of them smiled bitterly and muttered: ”We seem to be finished!”

”However, at least before we die, we have eaten the most delicious food we’ve ever had in our lives. It’s worth it even if we die!”

The other two also nodded helplessly, then slowly stretched out their arms, as if they had given up resistance, preparing to calmly welcome the kiss of the Grim Reaper. The scene was filled with endless sorrow and helplessness.

And just at this critical moment, when everyone thought a tragedy was about to unfold, a series of even sharper unusual sounds broke the dead silence again!

Immediately after, countless laser beams, like clusters of brilliant and deadly light swords, suddenly rushed into the sky, accurately speeding towards those meteorites.

That blinding laser looked like the light of judgment from mythology; wherever it went, the meteorites were instantly cut into tiny particles. The originally unstoppable destructive force was easily resolved, and the Grim Reaper’s kiss was thus ruthlessly slapped back.

This scene left everyone with their mouths agape, staring at the screen in a daze, their minds blank, unable to recover for a long while.

The originally hopeless situation was actually resolved so casually by the Dragon Nation?!

The live stream footage timely showed the Dragon Nation’s soldiers. They were looking up at the shredded meteorites, their expressions still as calm as water, as if they had just handled a trivial, commonplace matter!

That calm and composed demeanor further highlighted the Dragon Nation’s strength, which was jaw-dropping.

Now, the last shred of hope for President Biden and his team was completely dashed.

The Dragon Nation’s colony not only survived this crisis unscathed but also once again high-profilely displayed its unfathomable strength in front of the whole world, giving the Eagle Nation a hard slap in the face.

After the meteor shower passed, the three astronauts returned to the spaceship in a daze, but the scene before them left them completely stunned.

They saw that the spaceship, which carried their hope of returning home, had been smashed to pieces in the meteor shower just now, its wreckage scattered everywhere, emitting wisps of blue smoke!
