The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 238 - 171 Losing Beast Nature, Losing Everything_2
Chapter 238: Chapter 171 Losing Beast Nature, Losing Everything_2”Ah...” Kolon was suddenly struck dumb; he had thought he was utterly invisible in Mr. Yaxi’s eyes, but to his surprise, he was remembered too, which left him feeling flattered and bewildered.

However, at the same time, he realized this could very well be one of Mr. Yaxi’s tactics, so he became secretly alert and simply said, ”I have some doubts about your course.”

”Do you harbour hostility towards me?” Instead of answering his question, Mr. Yaxi asked softly and then laughed a little, ”Is it because you feel you don’t fit in with the others?”

”I want to know what your purpose is in doing this.” After hesitating for a long time, Kolon still voiced his thoughts, ”You’re controlling them, gradually taking control over them. What exactly do you want?”

”Control?” Mr. Yaxi shook his head, ”I haven’t done anything. This is just a simple Social Science course, and it’s they themselves who have felt the power of unity, discipline, and equality.”

”No, stop pretending. It’s not just that, you’ve also used special methods to change Erin.” Kolon looked at him seriously, ”I don’t know what you did, but you definitely did something bad to her.”

”Like... sex?” Yaxi seemed to joke and then nodded towards the young man in front of him, ”You’re not bad.”

”Besides fanatical believers, I also need a clear and self-disciplined mind,” he continued, and then suddenly threw out a question, ”What do you think is the difference between humans and animals?”

”The difference between humans and animals?” Kolon’s attention was immediately diverted, and he thought about the question before answering, ”Humans are rational, animals are not. Humans can overcome their animal instincts.”

”Very good,” Mr. Yaxi nodded, ”You are different from them.”

He explained, ”Humans possess both social and natural attributes, which animals cannot match.”

”Hmm.” Kolon nodded.

”Do you want to know? How to turn humans back into animals.” Mr. Yaxi said, curling his lips into a mocking smile, ”Your eyes tell me you’re curious.”

Kolon didn’t speak; he could faintly sense that the affable man before him was actually very frightening.

This guy is a demon.

I mustn’t fall for his seduction, I need to leave immediately and report to the school; he’s doing something very terrifying.

But to Kolon’s own surprise, his feet didn’t move an inch.

He just looked down, gazing at the neatly folded paper crow with black eyes on Mr. Yaxi’s desk.

”By confusing their social and natural properties, it’s easy for them to revert to a state of unreasoning animal nature.” Mr. Yaxi continued, ”For example...”

”Turning sexual instinct into love.”

”Turning submission to the strong into discipline.”

”Turning xenophobia into unity.”

”And...” Mr. Yaxi thought for a moment, not hiding anything from Kolon, ”To maintain the nobility and purity of one’s primary identity, ensuring a sense of participation and feedback when short-term achievements are met.”

He spoke softly and gently, ”There are many, many more methods; I think you can understand.”

Kolon carefully recalled everything he had seen in the past few days and began to deeply understand how terrifying Mr. Yaxi was.

To brainwash to this effect in just a few class periods...

Who is he, really?

He can’t just be an ordinary teacher.

”What... what exactly do you want to do?” Kolon’s voice trembled, and he realized he had developed a special kind of fear towards the young teacher.

But Mr. Yaxi didn’t answer; he just stood up and walked to the window, pulling back the curtain.

”Come here,” he said softly.

Kolon walked over and looked out of the window.

Outside the window was the school’s playground, beside which was a wall, and beyond that, a street.

The Wildfire symbol had begun to spread, unnoticed, and it appeared in various forms in the outside world by the clusters.

”To lose humanity is to lose a lot; to lose animality is to lose everything,” Mr. Yaxi’s words resonated once again.

”And what the people of Lonely City need most now is their animality.”

Jiang Shu walked out of the restroom and looked toward Liu Tingruo seated at the small dining table.

It was a little roadside shop, which, though small, was bustling with customers because of their uniquely flavorful food.

In front of Liu Tingruo was a large bowl and a plate of pancakes; the bowl contained a clear mutton soup, while the pancakes were textured like layered pastry.

And, breaking with precedent, Liu Tingruo didn’t begin eating on her own. She was just propping her face with one hand while absentmindedly stirring the mutton soup with a spoon in the other.

An appearance of bored loneliness.

”So dawdling,” she lifted her head and saw Jiang Shu, then hummed a note and pointed to the food in front of her, ”Scoop me a bowl of soup and break up the pancake into it to soak for me.”

”Alright, Miss Liu,” Jiang Shu smiled as he took the pancake and started breaking it up for her.

This way of eating was somewhat similar to mutton soup with bread pieces, seeing it in Lonely City...

That was quite rare.

Tonight, Liu Tingruo whimsically wanted to go out for a stroll, so they wandered around the commercial street nearby, and in the end, they didn’t buy anything but ended up at a suitable late-night snack shop.

Oh, not true, they did buy something.

He looked at the big-framed gold-rimmed glasses on Liu Tingruo’s face and added mentally.
