The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 218 - 164: Manifestation Magic_2
Chapter 218: Chapter 164: Manifestation Magic_2Zhou Yu’s voice gradually grew louder, indicating she was relaxing, no longer caring about speaking in front of the five thousand spectators.

”Very good, excellent. I can feel it, it has already come here,” Jiang Shu said with a gentle smile, ”Now, close your eyes and follow my words.”

”Relax... Relax.” He turned around, his voice deepening as he looked at the woman with her eyes closed, ”You can take a few deep breaths to relax yourself. Inhale... Exhale, inhale... Exhale. Very good. You will feel that each breath you take relaxes you even more. Inhale... Exhale... You can feel your head relaxing, then your neck, shoulders, waist, and legs. Very good, you are safe now, there is nothing to fear, you will feel very comfortable.”

As Jiang Shu guided her, Zhou Yu’s head slightly drooped, gradually relaxing her body.

”Next you will feel that a cute little beast appears in your mind, it will guide you, a special energy will emerge from your heart, this energy gradually moves upward, entering your mind, very warm, very comfortable,” Jiang Shu’s words gradually became distant in Zhou Yu’s ears, ”Very good, now in your mind, these five things have appeared, you can use this energy to wrap them up and then melt them.”

”From now on you will no longer be afraid of them,” he continued, ”Now, open your eyes.”

Zhou Yu slowly opened her eyes to see a ceramic ball in front of her, clearly inscribed with the words ”Failure.”

”It tells me that this is what you fear the most,” Jiang Shu said with a smile as he handed her a small hammer, ”Now, smash your fear!”

”Hmm!” Zhou Yu nodded forcefully, her eyes staring with determination at the ceramic ball inscribed with ”Failure.”

She smashed the ceramic ball.

It was as if her spirit had been cleansed, and she became completely transparent.

How...

How did he know that this was what she feared the most?

Could it be...

She looked around her, but eventually, she did not find the so-called spirit monster.

However, Zhou Yu was certain that she had just been helped by this cute little beast.

”Lastly, I think you still need a gift,” Jiang Shu said with a smile as he looked at her.

”What?”

”The gift is... that energy, or rather, the feeling you have now. Whenever you are anxious, think about today, remember that energy, it can ease all your anxieties,” he said with a smile, watching Zhou Yu thoughtfully.

The audience below did not erupt with much applause as usual; although most people understood what Jiang Shu had done, they did not feel that the scene before them was particularly shocking.

Compared to the previous acts of invisibility and flames, this seemed far less spectacular.

Except for Zhou Yu.

When she returned to her seat, she still felt an unreal sensation, as if the magic had happened on her, and she was surprisingly delighted.

The audience’s reaction was also within Jiang Shu’s expectations.

He had not originally planned this, the magic had been changed to this spontaneously after he cold-read the woman’s anxiety, and without any hesitation, he decided to perform this and even used the ceramic ball that was meant for a later act.

This was an improvised magic, which he felt is what made spirit magic so special compared to other types of magic.

Often, the process of spirit magic more closely resembled a session of psychological therapy, this kind of magic was gentle and intriguing.

It was just as he had said a long time ago, a simple truth, a complex process, telling a story.

This was the story he wanted to tell.

The magic... continued.

He knew he needed to do something to stimulate the audience’s senses next.

”Next, I still need the assistance of an audience member,” Jiang Shu continued, ”This time, please let the audience member who catches the frisbee come on stage.”

Soon, a lucky audience member came on stage, a strong man with a confident smile on his face.

”You really look robust,” Jiang Shu said with a smile as he looked at the man in front of him, ”May I ask how to address you?”

”Keith, just call me Keith,” Keith said excitedly as he rubbed his hands; he had intercepted the frisbee in mid-air relying on his excellent physical strength and had been waiting for this opportunity to come on stage for a long time, ”What do you need me to do now?”

”Well, next I will display a list on the big screen, it will contain an adjective, I need you to quickly choose one from it, um, quickly, do not hesitate,” Jiang Shu followed up, ”because this list will only appear for three seconds, after making a choice, keep it in your mind, and do not say it out loud.”

”I understand, you’re going to perform mind reading, aren’t you?” Keith, straightforward, blurted it out.

”Haha, maybe,” Jiang Shu laughed and then suddenly became serious, ”Never guess what a magician wants to do until the last moment.”

With that, a list appeared on the screen:

Cute

Dangerous

Fuzzy

Metallic

Brown

Bloody

Soon, the list disappeared after three seconds.

”Next, I will list another set of items, and they will also appear for a very short time,” Jiang Shu continued, seriously instructing the man in front of him, ”Please associate one of the items with the adjective you just chose. Be quick, and remember, do not speak it out loud.”

”I understand,” Keith responded solemnly.

Then, another list appeared on the screen:

Desk lamp

Teddy bear

Book

Pistol

Leaf

Dice

”Good,” Jiang Shu put away the list and walked to the back of the table, ”Similarly, Mr. Keith, close your eyes.”

”Okay,” Keith stood in front of the table and closed his eyes.

”Now, you can imagine this object in your mind, slowly sketching out its appearance; the Spirit Monster can capture the brainwaves you emit,” Jiang Shu spoke slowly, then suddenly asked, ”Um... is that object hard?”

”Ah?” Keith paused, but before he could respond, Jiang Shu interrupted him.

”No need to say it out loud; I just have a vague sense of it,” he waved his hand, ”Now, turn around, face the audience, and continue imagining the item with your eyes closed.”

Keith nodded, closed his eyes again, and as Jiang Shu spoke, the object in his mind became clearer.

”Now... turn around and open your eyes.” Suddenly, Jiang Shu issued the command, his tone quick and urgent.

The moment Keith turned around and opened his eyes, he saw a flash of fire.

A blaze shooting into the sky, accompanied by dazzling colored specks.

After the fire died down, a teddy bear appeared in Jiang Shu’s hands.

”What!” Keith looked at the teddy bear in shock, stuttering as the sudden blend of reality and fantasy rendered him speechless, ”This... this is! How did you know! Wait...”

”It’s this, it turned the thing in your mind into reality,” Jiang Shu spoke blandly, ”Or rather, this is called ’Manifestation.’”

”This is what was in your mind, right?” He smiled confidently.

”Yes, exactly,” Keith was still immersed in amazement; one second, the teddy bear was just an image in his mind, and the next, it had become a reality...

This Manifestation...

It was truly magical!

”This teddy bear is for you,” Jiang Shu said nonchalantly, as if what he’d just done was a trivial matter, ”A gift, for the soft-hearted you.”

”Ha ha.” Keith took the teddy bear, his hands involuntarily stroking the bear’s body, seemingly touched by Jiang Shu’s words.

Meanwhile, the audience erupted instantaneously.

To manifest one’s thoughts into physical objects, such magic!

”Is this really legitimate?”

”It looks like... it really turned what he was thinking into reality, it’s just too...”

”I know! This is Manifestation Magic!”

”I want a frisbee too!”

And Jiang Shu stood on the stage, his face revealing a mysterious smile:

”Next, I have a question. Does anyone here have a relative or friend who plays cards? Well, they can’t be at the venue.”
