Chapter 220: Chapter 165: Derivative Entry: Spirit Technique_2”Pick a stack of cards at random, and flip the entire stack over. Now, a card appears in front of you, remember it, but don’t tell me,” Sawada Kazu continued.

Sawada Ki nodded, ”Okay, what do you want me to do next?”

”Take this stack with the faces up and place it on top of any other stack. You don’t need to flip it, just lay it down,” Sawada Kazu read the card given to him by Jiang Shu.

He paused for a moment, then continued, ”Now, put the last stack of cards on top of the two stacks you just made. You now have a three-tiered deck of cards. The first tier has the backs up, the second tier has the faces up, and the third tier has the backs up, is that correct?”

”Right,” Sawada Ki glanced at it and nodded.

”Do you know how to do a riffle shuffle?” Sawada Kazu asked, ”Divide this deck in half, and then give it one riffle shuffle.”

”Okay.” The sound of shuffling cards echoed from the phone.

”Now, in your hands, this deck has cards face up and cards back up, scattered throughout,” Sawada Kazu described the deck, ”You can read out the face-up cards one by one, only the face-up cards.”

”Oh? Three of Hearts, Nine of Spades, Seven of Spades...” Sawada Ki started reading a few cards, then asked, ”Is that how it’s done?”

”Yes, keep going, don’t stop, until you’ve read them all,” Sawada Kazu responded.

”Queen of Diamonds, Three of Clubs, Seven of Diamonds...”

The voice of Sawada Ki emanated from his son’s wristwatch, and everyone present waited in silence.

”...Seven of Clubs, Four of Hearts...”

”...Ace of Diamonds.” The voice on the other side stopped, and then Sawada Ki asked, ”Okay, what’s next? What do I need to do?”

”That’s it,” Sawada Kazu let out a long breath, he looked at the final card passed to him by Jiang Shu, ”Just now, for a moment, my thoughts... it’s as though they linked with yours. If I’m not mistaken, the card you noted...”

”Was it the Seven of Clubs?”

”Huh?” Sawada Ki was stunned, ”How do you know? Wait, have you come home?”

The sound of him moving around and looking for someone came through the phone.

The audience also heard Sawada Ki calling out to his son to come out.

”I haven’t returned home, this matter... I’ll explain it to you when I get back, goodbye.” Sawada Kazu hung up the phone quickly, then looked at Jiang Shu in shock, ”You actually got it right! He’s never been so surprised!”

”It wasn’t really me,” Jiang Shu shook his head, ”Just as the card said, for a moment, my thoughts connected with your father’s, I followed his vision and saw some things.”

”Like...” Jiang Shu closed his eyes, as if reminiscing about something, then he opened them again to continue, ”It was a bright room, a study, mostly made of wood – it’s clear, your father appreciates the finer things in life. Your family seems well-off, with a whole wall of books on the shelves, and your father was sitting at his desk with a deck of cards in front of him. Beside him was a cup of tea – I could even smell the aroma, he has taste, he was probably drinking...”

Jiang Shu’s tone became uncertain, ”Matcha?”

”Yes, that’s amazing! You got it all right. My father is very likely in that exact state right now!” Sawada Kazu was even more astonished, he looked intently into Jiang Shu’s eyes as if he could see his own home in them.

Suddenly, the audience erupted in whispers, their minds racing with shock at the magic trick.

Had Jiang Shu just now...

Read the mind of someone far away, unknown where?

And even felt the occurrences there through the man’s eyes and nose?

This is...

Terrifying, isn’t it?

Doesn’t this mean that he could know anything happening in this city?

If he so wishes?

”Is this real?” an audience member clutched their head, looking at the stage in astonishment, a perfect performance of a drama queen.

”He really can enter our brains! It’s too scary!”

”Do we have no secrets before him?”

”From the initial Prediction, then Mind Reading, then Manifestation of thoughts, and now Thought Link... He’s too powerful...”

”Spirit Magic, huh? Is this what Spirit Magic is? Omnipotent?”

The audience began to fall into a state of profound fear. Earlier tricks, whether Shadow Cutting and Flowers or fire, or even Invisibility only made them think ”this magician is really impressive,” but now, their inner thought was—

”This magician is too terrifying!”

On stage, Jiang Shu turned to Sawada Kazu with a gentle smile, ”I only saw for a moment, but that was enough for me to find some information.”

”You’re so incredible,” Sawada Kazu couldn’t help but use respectful language, he glanced at the audience, his voice suddenly tinged with reluctance, ”Should I step down now?”

”It seems... that might be the case,” Jiang Shu shrugged, his face wearing a relaxed smile, ”But for the next magic show, I invite you to watch, Mr. Sawada Kazu. For the next magic trick, you can come in just by showing your face.”

”Really? That’s great!” Sawada Kazu’s face visibly lit up with joy, he searched his person, pulling out a deck of cards, ”Can you sign this for me? I’ll always support Mr. Jiang Shu!”
