The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 217 - 164 Manifestation Magic
Chapter 217: Chapter 164 Manifestation MagicOn stage, Jiang Shu stretched out his hands, making a pressing down gesture to signal the audience to quiet down. Then he looked at the man in front of him and handed him a Frisbee, ”Now, it is your turn to throw this Frisbee.”

”Can I throw it to myself?” the man chuckled as he looked at Jiang Shu.

”Of course not,” Jiang Shu shook his head, then he placed the glass cabinet under the table. Seizing this opportunity, he stealthily wiped the sweat from his brow.

Baglas...

He had succeeded after all.

He could breathe a little easier now.

Although the next magic trick would be even more explosive, the success rate would actually increase. He had everything under control.

Having Baglas as the first trick in the entire magic performance was a last resort because he knew there was a chance of failure.

Although it was unlikely, failure was still possible.

Therefore, he chose to place the Baglas Effect first. That way, if failure occurred, there would be ample time to remedy the situation. He was confident that he could convince all the audience members that a failed opening act was actually a planned part of the show.

”Then I will toss it up there,” the man smiled and threw the Frisbee towards the second-floor audience.

The Frisbee spun around in the air, made a circle on the second floor, and then landed in a lady’s hand. She grasped the Frisbee and looked toward Jiang Shu on stage.

”Please come down to the stage, I need your help to complete this,” Jiang Shu beckoned the lady with an inviting gesture from afar.

Quickly, the lady from the audience made her way to the stage, straightened her skirt, and stood before Jiang Shu with confidence.

She had an Asian face.

”My surname is Jiang, you can call me Mr. Jiang, of course, you must know that,” Jiang Shu extended his hand and asked, ”May I know how to address this young and beautiful lady?”

”My surname is Zhou, Zhou Yu,” Ms. Zhou nodded her head and shook hands with him.

”Ms. Zhou, you’re very different from the other women I’ve met,” Jiang Shu placed his thumb on his temple and stared into her eyes as if sensing something, ”You’re very attentive and confident, and you come from a well-to-do family, but your heart...”

He paused as if he felt something, ”It’s restless and anxious, if I’m not mistaken, you’ve been somewhat irritated recently because of certain things, or should I say, you’re under pressure.”

”This...” Ms. Zhou was taken aback, then she slightly lowered her head, her brows knitted together before they relaxed, and when she looked up again, she appeared much more composed and replied, ”Indeed, I have encountered some unfortunate matters recently.”

”We all face difficulties, and when we do, we feel stressed, but the root of stress...” Jiang Shu continued, as he pulled out a stack of cards and a pen, ”is actually fear. Each of us has our own fears, and this can help you overcome your fear.”

”Who?” Zhou Yu asked subconsciously.

”The Spirit Monster, as I’ve said, it has always been around us. Under my guidance, it can help us do many things,” Jiang Shu gently smiled and passed her the paper and pen, ”Now, you can write the thing or object of your greatest fear on the first card. It can be death, or it can be poverty. Write down what you fear the most these days on this slip of paper. I will turn around now; let me know when you have finished.”

”Hmm,” Zhou Yu took the paper and pen and wrote something on the clean paper, ”I’m done.”

”Good, now place the card you’ve written on, face down, on the table,” Jiang Shu did not turn around, he simply continued to ask, ”Is it done?”

Zhou Yu answered, ”It is done.”

”Very well. Now you have four blank cards left in your hand. You can write down other things you’re afraid of on them. Of course, they are not your greatest fears. After writing on one, place it on the table and line them up one by one,” Jiang Shu shielded his eyes with his forearm, still not turning back.

About a minute later, Zhou Yu had completed this task and then said, ”I have finished.”

After completing this series of actions, her heart was filled with the same curiosity as the audience below, puzzled over the purpose of Jiang Shu’s instructions.

”Now I need you to do something very important,” Jiang Shu’s voice turned serious, and he slowly spoke, making a motion of tearing paper without turning to face Zhou Yu, ”Next, you need to pick up a piece of paper at random, it doesn’t have to be the one with your greatest fear, any piece will do. If what’s written is ’death’, while saying ’I’m no longer afraid of death’, tear it up. Then repeat until all cards are torn. Do you understand what I’m asking?”

”I understand,” Zhou Yu nodded.

”There’s one thing I ask of you, please take this matter seriously,” Jiang Shu said, ”The more determined you are when you speak, the easier it is to draw it out.”

”Okay, I understand,” Zhou Yu let out a long breath, she had always heard the magician before her was an extraordinary person, and this time she chose to believe him.

Perhaps...

She really could shake off the inexplicable anxiety of recent times.

”I’m no longer afraid of cockroaches.”

”I’m no longer afraid of illness.”

”I’m no longer afraid of failure.”

”I’m no longer afraid of vicious dogs.”

”I’m no longer afraid of bankruptcy.”
