Chapter 227 - 168 Independent Plan
Chapter 227: Chapter 168 Independent PlanCouncilman?

A Council of some kind?

Board of Directors?

Did Sister Liu invest with technology?

In an instant, numerous thoughts flashed through Jiang Shu’s mind as he followed Liu Tingruo out of the elevator.

The employees nearby, also dressed in the same white lab coats as Liu Tingruo, saluted her before returning to their work.

After briefly organizing the data, a worker with an ultra-thin tablet approached Liu Tingruo, showing her the data with unusual discrepancies, ”Councilman, the test data for the first and sixth items here have a significant variance from the theoretical data.”

”Which group are you from?” Liu Tingruo reached out and tapped a spot an inch above her temple, and a mechanical device emerged from her sleek black hair, securing a pale blue lens in front of her right eye.

Shimmering blue data streamed across the lens, giving off a highly technological vibe.

Liu Tingruo, with a cold expression, quietly processed the experimental data, seeking out errors.

At that moment, her face was as if carved from ice, inadvertently exuding chill, with the corners of her mouth and eyes slightly downturned—a look of expressionless coldness mixed with a hint of anger and annoyance.

In short, she seemed unapproachably aloof.

Jiang Shu blinked; he had rarely seen Sister Liu look like this.

No, wait, it seemed familiar...

He remembered a time when he walked into Sister Liu’s room while they were cohabiting and saw her with that same expression—as if angry, but not entirely.

It left Jiang Shu puzzled all day; he didn’t dare to antagonize her further, only daring to ask indirectly about her feelings.

Later, Sister Liu explained to him that she had a bit of a resting bitch face syndrome; she naturally looked cold and wasn’t targeting him specifically.

Jiang Shu, however, remained skeptical since he seldom saw this so-called ’normal’ expression and wondered if it was true, or if Sister Liu simply didn’t bother to tell him what was bothering her, preferring to give herself a quick backstory instead.

”Crane One,” the worker reported the group’s name, then bowed his head, not daring to look at Liu Tingruo’s face.

”You’re in charge of the underlying logic, right?” pondered Liu Tingruo, ”Leave this issue for now; have your team leader come see me tomorrow.”

”Yes,” the worker nodded and then stepped back.

Jiang Shu looked at the Mecha, which timely provided the result of its mind-reading.

Mecha: ”So annoying, problems after problems! I already explained so clearly last time, and yet there are still issues!”

”I’m not even in charge of this project, yet they always come to me, just because I’m Councilman?”

”Getting paid for one job but doing three, even worse than Jiang Shu.”

”Huh, that damn Jiang Shu.”

Jiang Shu: ”???”

So, you can really connect anything to me and then throw in an insult?

”Councilman, Councilman Dick is here for tonight’s preliminary demonstration; he’s waiting in the office,” the worker suddenly remembered something and turned back to remind her.

”Mhm, I know,” nodded Liu Tingruo, then headed straight for her room with a light wave of her hand, ”Let him wait.”

”Yes,” the worker replied.

Dick?

Is that the sheriff or someone else from the Dick Family?

Jiang Shu pondered as he saw Sister Liu turn and disappear into a corridor corner, and he quickly followed.

Before turning the corner, Jiang Shu tiptoed to catch a glimpse of what was inside the testing area.

To his surprise, the testing area was deep, about fifteen meters by visual estimation, and quite large, nearly a thousand square meters in size.

In the center of the testing area stood a huge Mecha.

With white armor and a slender figure, the ten-meter-tall Mecha, with wings on its back, a cannon in its left hand, and a massive metallic sword in its right, was imposing and authoritative.

Mecha?

White Eagle is into artificial intelligence, so why are they making Mechas?

And looking at this size...

It’s clearly beyond the Three Major Groups’ prohibition.

The Three Major Groups classify outer armor by size into XYZ types, with X being the smallest, Y type next, and anything larger than Y being Z type.

The ”Tian Shu” external armor seen previously at Thirteen District’s Gu River was an X type, but this one, looking similar to a Gundam, must be a Z type.

The prohibition was straightforward: aside from the Three Major Groups, all organizations were forbidden from developing Y-type armor or larger without their permission.

While the permission is nominally attainable, the difficulty is about as likely as being granted a ’Sixth Constant’ role in the past world—it’s virtually impossible.

However, according to current military technology experts from Lonely City, such large-volume armor is not very useful apart from looking impressive.

The humanoid structure is meant for flexibility, and the massive size wouldn’t allow them too much agility.

Less agility and a giant size on the battlefield would make them easy targets.

The current level of technology doesn’t include anything like energy shields, so this white armor would shatter if hit by large-caliber artillery.

Tungsten Alloy Armor-Piercing Bullets wouldn’t have trouble with its frontal armor.

Even a military layman like Jiang Shu knew that this thing might not be as useful as a main battle tank.

The cost of production, the prohibitions, the anticipated impractical battle performance...

Why would the Dick Family still want to develop such a Mecha?
