The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 128: Chapter 123 Tie (Over 4000 words)_3As soon as he made contact, Jiang Shu gave up the idea of resistance, finding the tentacle’s strength astonishing; even expending a large amount of mana to fight it might not be effective.

After hypnotizing those two prison guards, his mana was not abundant.

But at that time, hypnotizing the prison guards was a necessary step—If he were taken back to the Special Prison and Clo conspired with the prison guards to frame him...

It would be a troublesome matter.

And to kill the two prison guards whose crimes did not merit death was something he could not bring himself to do.

”Damn...”

In the air, Jiang Shu first leaped onto a card and then landed firmly on the ground.

Magicians are all about showing off, never allowing even a slight disgracement.

Following that, he shot out a dozen cards, but without exception, all were blocked by the Fish Maiden.

The cards moved too swiftly for Jiang Shu to control their trajectory, and the controllable speed was too slow, easily defended by the Fish Maiden.

Some cards aimed directly at the shadows beneath the vehicle, but since it was noon, the vehicle’s shadow was very short; often, the cards hadn’t even reached the shadow before the Fish Maiden indiscriminately intercepted them.

And these cards could easily slice through the tentacles of the Fish Maiden, but that was of little use; she could pick up the severed tentacles, reattach them, and they would be restored in moments.

Jiang Shu stood firm, watching the receding armored car, silent.

The nearest squad of patrolling prison guards was even farther, and from that direction, a squad of prison guard vehicles emerged, seemingly aware of the situation here and pursuing Clo.

That’s not right.

He noticed that this squad did not carry weapons nor did they attempt to intercept Clo...

They were merely following behind Clo, and that was all.

Like his followers, but it was unclear if they were prison guards.

This man was terrifying; in five years, Clo had prepared more than he had imagined.

And that Fish Maiden...

She had moved in while he followed Clo to the bathroom; had he not followed Clo, perhaps he would have detected the Fish Maiden, and his plan might have succeeded.

If he could manage to bring Clo back to the Special Prison under these circumstances, facing an escapee like Clo, regardless of whatever relationship Clo had secretly with the warden, the warden would not easily let Clo go again.

The Special Prison was not solely ruled by the warden; an inspection team would check it monthly to some extent.

Therefore, if Clo were caught and brought back, he would definitely be placed in solitary confinement, moving up to an area for A-level prisoners, who had no rights to contact the outside world, making it much harder for Clo to escape.

If the problem can’t be resolved, resolve the person who causes the problem.

Along with Clo’s jailbreak, capture him alive if possible or execute him on the spot if not, that was his initial plan. But facing Clo, who had operated so long in the Special Prison, he still found it taxing.

Mainly it was his carelessness; he hadn’t expected Clo to bring out the Fish Maiden.

Now, while predicting Clo’s moves, he had also been predicted; while discovering some of his secrets, he had also exposed some of his own.

Thus, this time it was a draw.

A childish drama ending in a draw.

Jiang Shu slowly exhaled a breath of foul air; next up was preparing for the judicial second trial. Looking at the two prison guards by his feet, they were still in a semi-hypnotized state, where more suggestions could be implanted.

He looked towards the distance. In that direction should be a squad of patrolling prison guards, but now it was ominously quiet.

”Alas.” Jiang Shu sighed; he should head back to the checkpoint to handle the surveillance.
