Chapter 123: Chapter 122: Playing Well Equals Cheating? (4000-word Mega Chapter!!!)”Is it already time for morning exercises?” Clo realized how quickly time had passed; that night, in the span of four or five hours, he had wandered through various fields of knowledge...

His mind was already becoming chaotic.

It was uncomfortable, truly uncomfortable.

Yet, he felt fulfilled. How long had it been since he had a student of Jiang Shu’s high caliber? Faced with Jiang Shu’s thirst for knowledge, he simply couldn’t bring himself to say ”I need to sleep.”

Moreover, to ensure that Jiang Shu would better align with him, he was willing to showcase his own advantage—erudition.

”Almost time,” Jiang Shu yawned, feeling somewhat listless as well, but since he had gotten some sleep beforehand, he was in slightly better shape than Clo.

Over the past few days, he had come to understand Clo’s personality; the most apparent trait being his eagerness to mentor, followed by his tendency to overthink.

The success of the Self-Destruction Truck had also been within his expectations.

”I’m a bit sleepy; I want to take a nap,” said Clo, glancing at the time. There was still about thirty minutes left, enough for a short rest.

”Okay,” Jiang Shu responded, then used the Derivative Entry technique ”Three No Hypnosis” on Clo.

Jiang Shu only felt as if a heavy hammer had struck deep within his mind, leaving him dizzy, but he was secretly pleased.

Deducting spiritual power meant success!

He had experimented with Sister Ruo before and had some expectations; both Clo and Sister Ruo were SSR class, probably consuming similar amounts of energy.

Now...

He could barely hold on!

”Eh?” Clo suddenly paused, realizing abruptly...

He could no longer feel his legs.

He tried lifting them, but it was useless; puzzled, he looked down, only to see a small paper with a strange spiral pattern drawn on it.

The spiral pattern began to spin, and at the same time, Jiang Shu pressed his shoulders, making Clo look straight at him.

Clo, who usually had deep blue eyes, now appeared dazed. Clearly, a night of intense thinking had fatigued his brain.

”I will count down from three to one, and with each count, you’ll feel your muscles relax even more. Three, two, one. You are very sleepy now, you want to sleep deeply. When I tell you to sleep, you will quickly fall asleep, but you won’t be completely asleep; you will still be able to hear what I say. Okay, now, sleep!” Jiang Shu’s pace of speech varied; by the time he finished, Clo had already closed his eyes and slipped into a deep sleep.

This was a simplified version of the standard hypnotism script, with the greatest advantage being its simplicity and stability, but the downside was that it had high demands in various aspects.

Fortunately, under Jiang Shu’s manipulation, whether it was the environment, Clo’s subconscious thoughts, hypnotic receptivity, or induction time, all had been optimized.

Hypnotizing Clo was no longer just talk.

Jiang Shu put away the thread and card, then glanced at his own bed, walked over to tidy up the blanket, and opened a book to place on the bedside.

He looked again at the sleeping Clo, feeling more at ease. He spoke, ”Very good, you will find yourself in a dream now, but you can still hear my words, answer my questions—and you will answer them positively.”

Clo did not stir.

Jiang Shu decided to gradually ask questions, considering that if the answers were too critical for Clo, it could go against his subconscious, and Clo might still manage to break free and wake up suddenly.

”When you wake up, you will not remember anything that happened in the dream, but the words I spoke to you in the dream will still take effect,” Jiang Shu added another layer of security and then deepened the hypnotism, steering Clo’s consciousness. ”I will leave prison with you and help you complete your plan, so I am your teammate. I trust you, and you should trust me too, trust is the prerequisite for cooperation. Now, you should tell me some secrets.”

”Yes,” Clo replied meekly, eyes still closed.

”Good,” Jiang Shu nodded and then entered the verification phase; he needed to confirm—confirm that Clo was not just pretending to be under hypnotism.

But as much as he thought, there wasn’t a good method, so in the end, he had to rely on a simple human bridge experiment.

Human bridge experiment, the third stage of hypnotism, commonly used by hypnotists in performances, can block the subject’s physiological defense mechanism.

For example, carrying a heavy object for ten minutes, your brain tells you that you can’t carry it any longer, but in reality, you only develop muscle strain after thirty minutes; the twenty minutes in between is the buffer zone and also the potential zone uncovered.

”In the next step when I move your body, your body will be like a steel plate! Completely! Completely! Just like a steel plate!” Jiang Shu emphasized with an undeniably authoritative tone, then positioned Clo as a bridge between the bed and the chair, subsequently stepping onto the bridge himself, ”Now, you won’t feel a thing because you are a steel plate.”

A few minutes later, Jiang Shu felt Clo’s body start to tremble, yet Clo’s face remained expressionless, as if he felt nothing at all; Jiang Shu then jumped down.

If this had continued much longer, Clo might have developed muscle strain.

If it were an ordinary person, reaching this step would undoubtedly confirm that they were hypnotized, but if it was Clo...

It could only be confirmed to 80%.

Therefore, Jiang Shu still maintained some skepticism concerning the answers to subsequent questions.
