Chapter 99 - 100 Seal Garcia
Chapter 99: Chapter 100 Seal GarciaSeal Street, Central Building.

”Knock, knock, knock—” Wolf knocked on the door.

This was the top floor, which served as the office of Mr. Garcia, a well-known entrepreneur on Seal Street.

”Come in,” a baritone voice called from inside.

The door to the office looked understated, but it was in fact made of oak and was of very high quality and grade.

Wolf opened the door, walked in, with Gary and Jiang Shu following behind.

The office was spacious and adorned with some potted plants and aquariums, which gave it a lively atmosphere.

In front of the desk, three cups of tea and three chairs were already arranged. Across the table, a portly middle-aged man smiled genially at the three people who entered.

”Please, sit down,” he stood and shook hands with each one of them.

Wolf took the middle seat, glancing at the ’sleeping dragon and young phoenix’ to his left and right, feeling more at ease.

”I am Garcia, Anthony Garcia, or you can also call me ’Seal,’” said Garcia, plump and round like a snowman; when he laughed, his eyes disappeared into the thick folds of his eyelids, ”May I know how to address you three?”

”Wolf, Second Level Police Chief,” Wolf declared in a deep voice.

”Gary, Second Level Officer.”

”Jiang Shu, Police Station Consultant,”

Jiang Shu and Gary introduced themselves in turn.

Consultant? What’s that? Does the police station even have such a position?

Garcia glanced at Jiang Shu without betraying his emotions, surprised by his occurrence and continued, ”Since the three of you are here, let’s get straight to the point. In F District, there are six hideouts of the Mechanical Disciples. I know the precise locations of four of them, all not too far from here.”

”What you may not know is that for the police, these hideouts are hard to find, very secretive. But to me, they’re like bright lights in the dark,” Garcia chuckled, ”After all, day after day supplies, food, medicine, ammo, and such keep inexplicably disappearing right under my nose.”

”Well then, hand over the locations of these hideouts to us at Thirteen District Police Station, and you’ll be a good friend to the police,” Wolf said directly, avoiding any further discussion.

Ding: ”Five hundred Feather Coins, plus a small decorative flag.”

Police Chief: A friend to the police, a nemesis of crime.

Tablet Spirits gathered at his feet, communicating with each other through text bubbles.

Jiang Shu looked down and couldn’t help but find it amusing. If they really did that, this Garcia would end up in trouble.

Becoming the nemesis of crime in F District might as well be like trying to suck up excrement with a straw—suck yourself to death.

”No, no, no, Police Chief Wolf,” Garcia waved his hand, ”Merely that would not reflect the close bond between police and public. I’ve decided to dispatch my security company, Seal Security, to provide sufficient manpower to assist in your clean-out operation. After all, in these troubled times, the police force is understaffed, and as F District’s most conscientious entrepreneur, I’ll naturally help where I can.”

He continued: ”Our security personnel can assist the police, encasing the Disciples like cheese in a sandwich, to complete the clean-out operation.”

”What’s the catch?” Wolf asked bluntly. There was no such thing as free help from a sly fox like Garcia.

”No price, Police Chief, no price,” Garcia laughed heartily, took a sip of his tea, and repeated, ”All the support, every bit of it, will be gratuitous.”

”Hmm?” Wolf also realized something was wrong. The free ones are always the most expensive; he began to ponder the underlying advantages and disadvantages.

”Flaunting the police banner and taking over those four territories of the Mechanical Disciples, you’re quite ambitious, Mr. Seal,” Gary interjected, both addressing Garcia and giving Wolf a heads-up.

He continued, ”The rule in Area F is first-come, first-served for no-man’s lands. Once the Mechanical Disciples are wiped out, those four territories will be yours. But that’s still not enough.”

”Getting four blocks for free, especially through such despicable means to other gangs... Moreover, your power is nowhere near that of the Mechanical Disciples, and you’re splitting up your forces...” Gary frowned slightly, shaking his head, ”When the time comes, it will be hard for the surrounding gangs not to target you. Then there’ll be fighting.”

”Eliminating the Mechanical Disciples is aimed at rectifying and knocking some sense into the gangs of the DEF Area, focusing on public order management. If conflicts over interest arise, not only the higher-ups but also our police station won’t let you run amok without interference. A forceful crackdown is inevitable—a deployment of our police forces, and perhaps even the Violent Terror Mobile Team, should be expected.”

”Just withstand the first wave of attack, make a big fuss about it, and then you, Garcia, can of course appear as the victim with the merit of having assisted the police station in the past...” Gary explained, ”Without bloodshed, you can eliminate another batch of adversaries.”

”A very nice two birds with one stone. Regardless of whether or not what follows occurs, you stand to gain a lot,” Gary concluded, then fixed his gaze on Seal Garcia, ”Is that right, Mr. Garcia?”

”Exactly.” Garcia nodded generously in admission, ”I did indeed think so. But compared to the Mechanical Disciples, I think Area F needs someone like me more...”

He paused, then smiled and said, ”An entrepreneur, right?”

None of the three people across the long office table said anything.

After a while, Wolf finally agreed, ”Okay, we can do as you say. Even after you acquire those four blocks, the police can provide biased protection for you. But we have one condition.”

”Hmm?” Garcia, sensing that he had already succeeded halfway, looked at Wolf with renewed interest, ”What’s the condition? Let’s hear it.”

”No proliferation of psychoactive drugs.” Wolf stared at him directly, ”Just this one rule: strictly prohibit addictive psychoactive substances, whether it’s manufacturing or smuggling.”

Garcia’s eyes flickered with surprise before he quickly recovered and agreed at once: ”I’ll make sure to keep a tight leash on those people. You know, I’m just an entertainment businessman; I neglected this aspect of management before.”

”If that’s the case, I look forward to a fruitful cooperation,” Wolf stood up, shaking hands with him.

”A fruitful cooperation,” Garcia shook hands with each of the three individuals in turn, ”Add a contact? I’ve already prepared the data for the stronghold; we can start planning the raid on these Disciples right now.”

”Add him, just contact him,” Wolf pointed at Gary, who was from the Seventh District; he didn’t want to get entangled with the gangs from Thirteen District.

Garcia looked somewhat puzzled, nodded his head towards Gary, ”Brother Gary, then let’s exchange contact info.”

”Now it’s six o’clock in the afternoon, and the time to raid the stronghold...” Wolf pondered, ”How about setting it at eight o’clock tonight?”

”Fine,” Garcia nodded, his jowls vibrating with his movement as he stood up, ”Then, let’s all go. I also need to rally my employees, see you tonight.”

He followed the three of them, taking deliberate steps toward the door. He appeared to have a hip injury, moving with a distinct sway, the thick flesh on his waist jiggling violently with each motion.

With his excessively corpulent figure, he looked...

Like a seal.

Jiang Shu noticed this detail and felt it odd. ”Seal” sounded like a nickname, one that carries a mocking and derogatory connotation.

To use such a nickname as a moniker, even to the extent of including it in the name of the streets he controlled...

It was very strange.

Besides, Garcia could have used a cane for more comfortable walking, but he didn’t.

Jiang Shu frowned, taking note of this point in his mind.
