Chapter 69: Chapter 70: Let’s Promote Black Currant Together!”Handling sound?” Jiang Shu stroked his chin, the thing sounded pretty impressive.

Shen Xuwan nodded, but then she frowned in frustration, ”But I don’t understand what these tools are for.”

”Hmm?” Jiang Shu glanced at the Tablet Spirit and had it search for this world’s image processing software.

But after a search, nothing came up.

In this world, image processing software was gradually phased out, as people only needed to input the original image and the desired effects, and artificial intelligence did the processing automatically.

Thus, he had Xiao Jia display the homepage image of a classic PS software from his previous life and then asked Shen Xuwan, ”Does the world you see look something like this?”

”It’s a bit different, but more or less.” Shen Xuwan took a look and then asked him, ”Do you know what this is?”

”Some tools for processing images.” Jiang Shu said thoughtfully, ”In your eyes, ’sound’ is ’image’, so you can use these tools to manipulate sound.”

”Give it a try,” he continued, ”Don’t bother with simple things like adjusting volume, try the special ones.”

”Okay.” Shen Xuwan nodded.

Jiang Shu opened his wristwatch and randomly played a video, and then the two of them excitedly tested out this term called ”Tune Master”.

Sharpen, to make a blurry sound clearer.

Feathering, after splicing two sounds together with the tool, it can make the two sounds blend more naturally.

However, they only played with it for a little over ten minutes before the earring lost its luster.

The energy was used up.

”Do you... have any Black Silver?” Shen Xuwan looked at him, ”I can buy it, however much you have.”

”I... I need mine, see if there’s any left on the market.” Jiang Shu declined, but then he wondered, ”Are you that rich?”

”...” Shen Xuwan suddenly blushed, ”It seems, I can’t afford another hundred grams.”

Even though she was a T1 and her performance fees were high, she wasn’t part of the Screen System, so she didn’t earn money that quickly.

The Black Silver output was two tons per year. Although the market price had always been stable, the Black Silver circulating on the market was not plentiful.

Xiao Jia checked the Black Silver market, with its powerful coordination capabilities; it grouped together all the shops, institutions, and auctions selling Black Silver.

”All sold out, huh?” Jiang Shu looked at the uniformly red ”Product Sold Out” signs.

Something’s not right.

He instructed Xiao Jia, ”Check the records from the past period.”

Xiao Jia did as told, and the data showed that more than a week ago, all the Black Silver on the market was bought up, and since then there has been a state of shortages.

Moreover, the Black Silver mine was mined by the Three Major Groups together, each year a very small amount was released to the market, but this year, there had been none since June.

That is to say, they were gradually tightening control over Black Silver.

To say they were unaware of some insider information was impossible. So what exactly are these so-called Key Masters?

Tune Master: Obtain the ability to manipulate ”tune”.

Expanding on this entry, if Lonely City were likened to a computer, then the Key Masters are very likely those who have obtained some ”permissions” for the computer.

Through special Secret Keys, they could modify the data of this computer.

So, to Lonely City, are the Key Masters the embodiment of glitches, or viruses, or perhaps...

The embodiment of applications?

This seems like just an issue of terminology, but it’s actually crucial.

Lonely City is a precise machine, the Main Brain is a ruthless Controller who responds to ”traitor” professionals by turning them into monsters like Mutants, so how would it deal with these viruses that stole permissions...

Jiang Shu’s eyebrows furrowed; he could sense there was a big secret here.

”How interesting,” he muttered.

No Magician lacks curiosity; after all, magic is art born from curiosity.

”No Black Silver for purchase,” Shen Xuwan sighed. She thought that having saved several million by her age was enough for a lifetime, but she had no idea that she would run out of money after just about fifteen minutes.

She needed to earn Black Silver.

”So, you’re saying this earring is a gift for me?” She looked at Jiang Shu, who was still deep in thought, and asked curiously.

”Yeah,” Jiang Shu replied nonchalantly; it was obviously something bound to someone else’s soul, so it was useless to him.

”You’re strange, huh.” However, Shen Xuwan set down the earring, her eyes filled with wariness, ”Why are you helping me like this? What’s in it for you?”

”For what?” Jiang Shu looked her over, thinking deeply for a moment.

Getting involved in the New Moon Hall case, one was to deal with Jabba, two was to uncover the truth—a primary objective. If there was a third reason, well, it existed too.

Jiang Shu looked at Shen Xuwan and suddenly declared with great ambition, ”Join me in the grand development of Black Currant!”

”Huh?” Shen Xuwan was baffled, this was the one answer she hadn’t expected.

”That’s right.” Jiang Shu proclaimed spiritedly, ”Our Black Currant Theater needs an excellent classical musician.”

Shen Xuwan asked reflexively, ”Just because of this...?”

Solving the Deception case, competing for the earring, the night raid at the apartment, probing into her past, investing Black Silver...

All to recruit her to the Black Currant Theater?

Such professional talent scouting...

How much did they pay you?!

”Correct.” Jiang Shu affirmed, the sudden idea to bring Shen Xuwan into the fold wasn’t because she was fair, beautiful, and tall, but because he wanted to properly study this Tune Master.

After all, controlling sound wasn’t just about silencing, for sound in itself was a weapon.

And then there was...

”How is your artistic cultivation?” Jiang Shu asked.

”Hmm?” Shen Xuwan thought she misheard; she blinked her big eyes, filled with confusion and a touch of unjustified grievance, ”I... I’m from the theater system... and a T1.”

Right, from the theater system, and not from the motley Screen System. If she was from the theater system and lacked genuine talent, she would be jobless.

And, she was a T1; not many T1 musicians could be found in the Seventh District, so why should she doubt her own talent just because she looked good?

”Uh, what do you mean?” Jiang Shu didn’t understand.

Shen Xuwan, resigned, showed him her entry:

-Passive·Enter the Hall (Gold): Excellently cultivated in art.

Here, gold, you see.

”Quite impressive,” Jiang Shu nodded, ”Then, do you have time this weekend? Tomorrow.”

”Hmm?” Shen Xuwan’s heart stirred; she had heard this kind of invitation too many times. Those dressed in gaudy or genteel fashions, whether rich second generations or official second generations, would occasionally come knocking.

But if it was Jiang Shu... he was intriguing; she could afford a bit of simple contact.

A different light appeared in Shen Xuwan’s eyes.

Seeing her lost in thought, Jiang Shu stretched out his hand and waved in front of her, ”You available?”

”I am.”

”Then tomorrow, could you help me with a kid, cultivate her artistic skills a bit?”

”Huh?”
