Chapter 73: Chapter 74 Have you really eaten? And on that side, Jiang Shu, who had opened the door, looked a little puzzled.

He asked, ”Why are you here too?”

”Why, can’t I come?”

Shen Xuwan retorted, then walked into the Magic House, naturally putting down her bag, her gaze lingering on Kirie, who was in front of the desk.

The two women’s eyes collided in midair, but as soon as they touched, they bounced away rapidly.

Charming and cute, petite and exquisite, a killer of innocent young men.

Shen Xuwan realized in her heart.

Graceful and lithe, like a fairy, a silent hunter of men.

Kirie understood in her heart.

This guy...

Probably Jiang Shu’s woman, huh?

Both of them thought at the same time, also internally admiring the other.

Quite beautiful, no wonder she has Jiang Shu utterly captivated.

”What would you like to drink?” Jiang Shu walked between them and asked.

However, both Shen Xuwan and Kirie knew that there was only boiled water in Jiang Shu’s Magic House, so they said in unison, ”Boiled water.”

They looked at each other and tacitly understood.

This person is a regular.

”Oh, you don’t know each other, do you?” Jiang Shu looked at the two staring blankly at one another, then gestured from one to the other, ”This is Kirie Tsukimiya, a technician from the police station; this is Shen Xuwan, emmm, someone from the Black Currant Theater, my colleague.”

”Hello.”

”Hello.”

Kirie and Shen Xuwan shook hands.

”Have you had breakfast?” Jiang Shu walked to the fridge and turned to ask, ”Would you like some?”

”We’ve eaten already, thanks.” The two women answered in unison.

Jiang Shu nodded, took out some food items, and began to prepare breakfast.

On the other side, at the office desk, Kirie and Shen Xuwan sat opposite each other, silent for a long while.

”What... did you come here to do?” Finally, Shen Xuwan broke the silence.

Kirie answered without hesitation, ”He has an apprentice named Su Xiaoou, I came to teach her... natural sciences and such.”

”Oh, I’m here to teach the arts,” Shen Xuwan understood.

”You’re also here to mentor a child?”

”Oh, I am too.” The two asked and answered in unison, seemingly feeling a bit embarrassed, and then fell into an even longer silence.

After a moment, Kirie inquired, ”Aren’t you from New Moon Hall?”

Kirie had been present during the theft at New Moon Hall, so she had seen Shen Xuwan.

”He poached me to come here,” Shen Xuwan replied, counter-asking, ”And you?”

”I... met him on a case before, and now... I’m helping him out.” In front of someone else, Kirie would not admit to being Jiang Shu’s errand runner.

Once again, silence fell between them, their thoughts a whirlwind.

Shen Xuwan sized up Kirie.

This young girl is so clingy to Jiang Shu, likely harboring a secret crush. Helping out with things, in this day and age, how could she not have her own motives?

But looking at the situation, it’s still in the budding stage. Jiang Shu allows her presence in his life, most likely a mutual crush that’s just one step shy of blossoming.

Interesting.

Shen Xuwan smiled silently and picked up her water to take a sip.

Kirie Tsukimiya looked at Shen Xuwan.

This woman...

So beautiful! So graceful!

Jiang Shu must have fallen for her pomegranate skirt!

In the dark forces that hadn’t yet surfaced, this woman would likely become a Mistress-level figure, enjoying all the glory and riches of the Mysterious World.

However, by the looks of things, the two hadn’t made their relationship official yet, probably still in the mutual secret crush stage, just one step away from a breakthrough.

If I could help her, I would be second only to one and above tens of thousands!

Of course, I’d have to maintain a proper distance and be cautious, because if handled poorly, this kind of thing could spell irreversible doom for me.

Kirie made up her mind, her gaze toward Shen Xuwan full of tenderness.

The two started chatting.

As a fawning subordinate, Kirie wanted to help her master break through that last barrier, while Shen Xuwan simply wanted to understand Jiang Shu better.

”Hmm?” Jiang Shu came out holding three baskets of dumplings, two bowls of porridge, and a simple side dish, looking questioningly at the two women chatting happily.

Wasn’t it pretty awkward just now?

How did they become as close as sisters all of a sudden?

Women are really strange.

Mumbling to himself, Jiang Shu placed the breakfast on the coffee table and then followed the knock at the door, probably Su Xiaoou arriving.

”Good morning, teacher,” Su Xiaoou greeted Jiang Shu with a deep bow at the door.

”Good, good, good,” Jiang Shu chortled, greatly satisfying his vanity.

Hmm, I’m someone who can mentor apprentices now.

Right after, Su Xiaoou darted to the coffee table, her eyes shining at the breakfast laid out.

”Go wash your hands; over there is your Natural Science teacher and your Arts teacher,” Jiang Shu pointed toward the two women in his office.

”Good morning, teachers!” Su Xiaoou ran over and bowed at a ninety-degree angle twice in a row.

Jiang Shu nodded, secretly pleased with himself—indeed, after helping Su Xiaoou step out of her shadows, her life had become much more positive.

”Hello.”

”Hello.”

”I’m Kirie Tsukimiya, your Natural Science teacher; it’s a pleasure to teach you.”

”Shen Xuwan, in charge of your artistic cultivation; work hard.”

Kirie and Shen Xuwan also reached out and shook hands with the energetic young girl—no one could dislike such vitality.

Jiang Shu also felt somewhat relieved; fortunately, he had given Su Xiaoou a healthy dose of Psychological Suggestion earlier and hadn’t let these two ladies see the previous Su Xiaoou—the street whirlwind.

”Here you go.” Jiang Shu prepared two bowls of porridge and picked up two pairs of chopsticks, handing them to Su Xiaoou, ”Eat up quickly; class will start after you’re done.”

”You got it,” Su Xiaoou couldn’t wait to dig in, and Jiang Shu leisurely picked up a dumpling and popped it into his mouth.

Not even two minutes into eating, Jiang Shu felt the surroundings quiet down markedly, and looking back, he found Kirie and Shen Xuwan had stopped chatting and were now gazing directly at the breakfast.

At the moment Jiang Shu turned his head, both women swiftly averted their eyes, but as they realized they’d been caught, Shen Xuwan showed a somewhat awkward smile, while Kirie didn’t seem embarrassed at all, acting like she’d done this countless times.

Jiang Shu then deeply realized that opening an authentic Chinese restaurant in the Seventh District could be successful.

A path to making big money.

”You two... don’t just sit there, want some?” he called out.

”Mhm.” The two women solemnly nodded, skillfully concealing the word ”greedy” that was nearly written on their faces.

Catching this, Su Xiaoou blinked in surprise and then hastily stuffed two dumplings into her mouth, the soup inside spilling out and burning her, making her grimace and pant.

”Slow down,” Jiang Shu chided, not amused.

”It’s fine, it’s fine; she’s at the age where she’s growing, she should eat more,” Shen Xuwan picked up some side dishes with a fork, sipping it down with the porridge, her eyes lighting up instantly.

Mostly having cold sandwiches or self-heating food for breakfast, this was her first time having such a homey morning meal.

She then looked at Kirie, who was eating solemnly and quietly like a seasoned pro.

Darn it, defeated by the power of witchcraft again.

While Kirie was cursing inwardly, she was also slurping away on the surface.

After a while, Jiang Shu couldn’t help but voice his suspicion.

”You two...”

”Did you really eat already?”
