The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 79 - 80 Guide Dog
Chapter 79: Chapter 80 Guide DogKirie watched the four Tablet Spirits, and the Tablet Spirits also stared at her with their large eyes.

Kirie blinked her eyes, not knowing why, she felt that these four electronic creatures suddenly seemed dumbfounded.

Jiang Shu looked at Kirie and replied subconsciously, ”The four of them are just electronic pets, the behaviors just now were all programmed.”

He was still unclear if Kirie was entirely trustworthy.

He could, of course, inform Kirie about Magic Secrets, as he needed her help, and he had some issues on which to consult her. Moreover, a magic trick, after all, wasn’t any earth-shattering secret.

Even if she made it public, it wouldn’t significantly impact him, since his skills were with him, and he could gauge Kirie sooner.

The last video explaining Past Life and Present Life, from the perspective of explanation, probably wasn’t Kirie. The Magic Principle was quite simple, and it was normal for someone to figure it out.

But the matter of the four little ones was different. If they truly were something that even the Three Major Groups’ financial powerhouses couldn’t research, then how valuable would the Tablet Spirits be?

As a technician, Kirie surely understood this better than he did. Under such influence of interest, it was hard to ensure that she would keep the secret.

Moreover, the four little ones were related to Sister Ru, and on the matter of finding Sister Ru, he would be extra careful.

Kirie had her suspicions about the Tablet Spirits but had no definitive proof. Under the current situation, the details of the Tablet Spirits remained safe.

On the other hand, Kirie chan was stunned upon hearing Jiang Shu’s words.

Not telling the truth...

He didn’t tell me about the electronic creatures...

Does that mean Jiang Shu still doesn’t trust me? Or is it that by not telling me about the electronic creatures, he wants to turn me into something like that?

In the heat of summer, Kirie’s heart became as cold as ice, her facial expression seemingly frozen. Panic filled her heart, and she didn’t know what to do to dispel such a frightening thought from Jiang Shu’s mind.

I must make myself useful! I must become an indispensable right hand!

Jiang Shu was unaware of the turmoil inside the girl’s heart and quickly changed the subject, saying, ”Look here.”

He turned on the projector of little Alpha, displaying high-rise buildings. He pointed at the tallest one and asked, ”For a hot air balloon, if it wants to hover about 30 meters above the rooftop of this building, what conditions are needed?”

”To hover, we need to consider the wind strength on that night. If the wind speed is too high, it would be difficult to maintain such a position,” Kirie quickly recovered from the blow, determined to prove that her human form was much more useful than her electronic creature form.

So Jiang Shu instructed, ”Alpha, add the wind data for next Tuesday, use the forecast data from the meteorological bureau.”

The technology of Lonely City was more advanced than in the past, making the weather forecasts highly accurate with scarcely an error.

”The wind isn’t strong, securing it with a rope will suffice,” Kirie looked at the wind data and responded, ”What are you planning to do?”

”To perform a magic trick, and then...” Jiang Shu pondered for a moment, ”If I want to play with fire in this area of the city, would I get arrested?”

Kirie: ”???”

”You... what do you want to do?” Kirie took a small step back, ”If you start a fire in such a place, you’ll definitely be sentenced to death, and I... even as an accomplice, would definitely be sentenced to death.”

”What arson? It’s not arson,” Jiang Shu smiled, ”It’s more like... fireworks or something.”

”Fireworks?” Kirie thought for a moment, ”This is the location of the Seventh TV Station in Lonely City, it’s still a heavily trafficked area. If you want to use fireworks here... it’ll be tough.”

”It’s not exactly fireworks, much smaller than that, it will only affect this particular area.” Jiang Shu marked a small range on the projection, starting from the rooftop of the TV station, up to about thirty meters.

”In that case... it might be possible,” Kirie nodded, ”but you must report it to the public safety office beforehand, and if an accident occurs, you will still be fully responsible.”

She continued, ”Hmm, if there’s a public security filing, we could even issue a notice to reduce the flow of people in that area, which would greatly decrease the accident rate.”

”I think you should be able to minimize the accident rate, right?” Jiang Shu looked at Kirie.

”Of course,” Kirie raised her head with pride in her expertise, ”Such a small matter is certainly no problem.”

”That’s good,” Jiang Shu was very satisfied.

Kirie pondered for a moment, then suggested, ”For the public security filing, you could ask Wolf, he has wide connections. If you go to file for it yourself, you’ll probably be kicked out directly.”

Jiang Shu nodded in agreement, indeed, without money or backing, not knowing anyone, and not being a Xin, something like blocking roads was indeed a bit difficult.

”However, it’s not to the extent of blocking roads,” he continued, ”That stretch of street is in the downtown area, the cost of closing it off is too high, and it’s unnecessary.”

”Alright then, so what exactly are you going to do?” Kirie looked at him, her gaze unconsciously dodging a little.

Getting involved in his magic, should she consider herself to have entered the fringe of his power circle?

”Xiaojia, start the live demonstration; Xiaoyi... no, you can’t reach it, Xiaobing, turn off the lights.” Jiang Shu clapped his hands, Xiaobing flew over to turn off the lights, and Xiaojia projected the demonstration.

---

”Police Chief Wolf!” An officer rushed into Wolf’s office, saluted quickly, and reported, ”An explosion occurred on Davis Street in Zone D, resulting in one death and one injury.”

”An explosion?” Wolf stood up; he rarely stayed in the office, having just returned for a short while before another case happened.

”Yes,” the officer replied.

”Recently, things haven’t been very calm,” Wolf frowned as he stood up and straightened his attire, then said in a deep voice, ”Let’s go.”

The two walked out, and Wolf said to the officer, ”I’m heading to the scene to check things out. You first inform the officers in our unit to follow shortly.”

”Yes,” the officer answered, then ran off.

Wolf turned and walked towards the back of the police station to Kirie’s lab; he needed Kirie’s help with the explosion case.

There might still be explosives at the scene, possibly resulting in a secondary explosion - it was much safer to bring a technician.

”Dark already?” After a while, Wolf reached the door of the lab; only darkness came from the small window above the door - there was no light, ”Did Kirie go home early?”

He knocked on the door, calling out, ”Kirie, are you there?”

”Tap tap tap—” Inside, the sound of Kirie’s little shoes tapping came, followed by a cool response, ”Yes.”

Kirie opened the door and simultaneously flipped the light switch by the door; she looked at Wolf standing at the door, ”What’s up?”

”There’s been an explosion in Zone D, come with me,” Wolf said, then, glancing inside, he was taken aback, ”Oh, Jiang Shu is here too.”

”Yeah, I came to ask Kirie some questions.” Jiang Shu glanced at the Tablet Spirits; they had already intelligently put the projection away.

Wolf, hearing this, seemed to realize something, then started sniffing around as if trying to pick something out of the air.

”What are you sniffing for?” Jiang Shu found it odd, ”Is there a strange smell?”

”That’s strange, it shouldn’t be,” Wolf looked equally perplexed, sniffed a couple more times, but still couldn’t detect the scent of heather.

Ding: guide dog.

Kirie was also puzzled; she looked at Wolf, ”What’s the matter?”

Ding: The darkness of two people, the strangeness of three.
