The Daily Life Of A Cyberpunk Magician

Chapter 84 - 85: Armed Tablet Spirit
Chapter 84: Chapter 85: Armed Tablet SpiritWolf glanced at the time. It had been half an hour since Jiang Shu had sent the message, and he had only just arrived near the location Jiang Shu had mentioned.

”Damn it, if only I hadn’t followed the wrong car!” Wolf parked the car by the roadside and then rushed towards the location Jiang Shu mentioned.

He now realized that the kidnappers had prepared three vehicles, two identical kidnapping vans, and a bus for cover.

At a crossroad, the criminals used the bus to block the view and perfectly executed a switch, causing him to follow them to Area B.

Before him was the alley Jiang Shu had mentioned, but before Wolf could enter the alley, he saw flames and fierce fire shooting into the sky.

Then there was the loud explosion, ”Boom—”

Finally, a rumbling sound from the ground gradually reached him, the intense explosion creating an effect similar to a minor earthquake.

”Kirie! Jiang Shu!” Wolf, seeing the commotion ahead, widened his eyes and couldn’t help shouting.

”Stop shouting, no one’s dead.” Jiang Shu’s calm voice came from somewhere.

Then, two figures walked around the corner of the alley and appeared in front of Wolf.

”You...” Wolf was surprised; he definitely didn’t want these two individuals in front of him to die because of such a mysterious kidnapping case.

”We’re not dead. I happened to find the room where Kirie was held and rescued her, then caused some chaos to escape smoothly. Afterwards, they detonated the factory, probably wanting to destroy some evidence,” Jiang Shu explained briefly. ”They probably realized you were coming, didn’t want to engage in a fight, and just gave up.”

”Do you... know who they are?” Wolf asked, then looked at Kirie, ”Kirie, do you know why they kidnapped you?”

”I...” Kirie lowered her head and then raised it again; she first glanced at Jiang Shu, then continued, ”They are from the Mechanical Disciples, and they kidnapped me... to threaten my father, to force him to do certain things.”

”Oh, I see.” Wolf nodded, as if he was beginning to understand the purpose of this group.

”Your father?” It was Jiang Shu who looked surprised at Kirie.

So, Kirie’s father is quite capable?

”The Police Chief of the Seventh Police Station,” Wolf explained. ”That’s her dad.”

”Uh...” To be honest, Jiang Shu had only just learned about this.

No wonder Kirie, with so much scandal in her earlier years, was still able to get a job at the police station; it turned out she had such a connection.

Wait a minute!

Jiang Shu suddenly remembered that he had also met the Director of the Police station at an award ceremony, but that was a Caucasian, while Kirie had a typical Asian appearance.

He carefully observed Kirie, confirming there were no signs of mixed heritage on her.

”Are you mixed? I can’t tell.” Jiang Shu asked directly.

”No, I was adopted,” Kirie shook her head, ”the name was given by my biological parents.”

”Hmm.” Jiang Shu nodded, then suddenly felt a gun poking into his waist.

In just a second, cold sweat ran down his skin, and then he felt, one after the other, four or five more guns pressed against his waist.

But as he noticed Wolf and Kirie’s strange expressions, he suddenly understood something and slowly turned his head to look behind him.

There was no one behind him, but there were three long guns and two short guns pointed at him.

The gun holders, surprisingly, were four Tablet Spirits.

Jiang Shu: ”...”

”You...” Jiang Shu also wore a peculiar look.

So that’s why they disappeared; they were off stealing weapons, literally playing the cute agent team, huh?

A: Finding weapons.

Jiang Shu looked at their bun-like hands, ”With hands like those, without even fingers, are you sure you can pull the trigger?”

”Click clack.” Xiao Jia immediately pulled the trigger to show him, but the gun didn’t fire.

”Be careful not to discharge it accidentally.” Jiang Shu hastily said.

Jia: Don’t worry, it’s on safety.

”Bang—”

The bullet screen had only floated halfway when the gun in Xiao Ding’s hand suddenly went off, firing a bullet towards the corner of the wall, and Xiao Ding was also smashed against the wall by the recoil.

Jiang Shu shrank his head back, somewhat scared, and immediately went to snatch the gun, saying, ”Stop messing around, give me the gun.”

He took the gun and then felt its weight with both hands, puzzled at how these four Tablet Spirits could even lift it.

”How should we deal with these guns?” Jiang Shu looked towards Wolf.

”You keep them, keeping them for self-defense is also an option.” Wolf casually said, ”These are all military grade guns, and if you need more bullets, you can ask me.”

”This, so many? Isn’t Zone D also a Gun-free Zone?” Jiang Shu hesitated.

”No worries, keep them. I’ve got you covered. Plus, Zone D is close to EF, it’s inherently unsafe.” Wolf continued, then picked through the five guns, selecting three, one long and two short, ”You keep these three. Given your physique, you can’t handle the others anyway.”

”Okay, what are these?” Jiang Shu looked at the three, two of which were identical pistols and one was a rifle.

They were plain, adorned with only two or three ugly gray lines, devoid of any Cyberpunk feel, probably equivalent to the ”Blue Sprite” level if placed in CSGO.

”Handguns, Sekleus III, ladies’ handguns, small in size, fast firing rate, low recoil, quite suitable for you to use,” Wolf said, ”Also to be used as a weapon for researchers and other non-combat personnel.”

Although he knew Wolf was just giving him a crash course, Jiang Shu still felt a bit offended.

And...

He looked at the two guns, their compact and rounded appearance, which felt somewhat familiar.

Jiang Shu took one of the handguns and posed with it in his hand.

B: D.VA loves you~

Ding: BiuBiuBiuBiu——Biu~

Jiang Shu: ”...”

Why do your bullet screens have sound, hey!

But after accepting the idea that this gun was the same model as D.VA’s, Jiang Shu could no longer look at it straight, at least he didn’t want to use it himself.

But it could be given to Su Xiaoou or Shen Xuwan.

”This one suits you better, Hawk Eagle Group’s Hawk Card No.2, long stroke gas piston, ready to fire, plus it has a constant recoil system, virtually no recoil. I reckon you could fire it one-handedly.” Wolf was clearly an arms enthusiast, once he started talking about it, there was no end, ”Most importantly, it’s a semi-automatic shotgun, not weak in power. You don’t even need to aim, just point and shoot bang bang bang.”

”This is a good piece.” Jiang Shu’s eyes lit up, but not because he wanted it for himself, but because he thought of equipping Xiao Jia, Xiao Yi, Xiao Bing, and Xiao Ding with it.

Semi-automatic shotgun, firepower coverage, extremely low recoil, powerful...

Besides being large in size, it had no flaws, and being large, perhaps that could be solved with Magic.

More precisely, it was something to be addressed by Deception derived from the Derivative Entry, maybe next time he could consider playing with a Magic that changes size at will.

Jiang Shu made up his mind.

”Let’s go, back to the police station first.” Wolf led the two to the car, ”Record a statement, and let other police station teams handle the explosion here.”

Sitting in the front passenger seat of the car, Jiang Shu looked out the window and, after hesitating repeatedly, finally said:

”There’s a mole in the police station.”
