Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1046: Chapter 1040: Finding Chu Molin_1

“I see, thank you,” Qin Xue said as she followed his pointing finger, expressing her gratitude.

“No need for thanks,” the soldier replied, a bashful smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. He found this lady doctor to be quite gentle. He couldn’t help but wonder why she was looking for their commander.

Noticing his reaction, Qin Xue found the soldier’s bashfulness amusing. She wondered if all male soldiers were like this, shy to a fault. Of course, her own Chu Molin was an exception. She had never seen him acting shy which proved that exceptions did exist.

Qin Xue followed the soldier’s pointed direction and indeed found Chu Molin.

“Chu Molin.” Qin Xue’s heart softened looking at her man directing everyone assertively. She found the saying ‘a man working conscientiously is the most handsome’ to ring true. She was absolutely smitten by him.

“Xue’er, why are you here? Don’t you know how dangerous it is here?” Instead of being pleased on seeing his wife, Chu Molin felt helpless. Why couldn’t she just listen to him?

“Of course I’m here for you, why else? So, unwelcome, is it? Fine, I’ll leave,” Qin Xue replied with an expressionless face, prepared to turn around and leave.

“Xue’er,” Chu Molin couldn’t help but feel a mix of frustration and amusement. This woman knew exactly how to get under his skin.

“What’s wrong? Let go, I’m leaving,” Qin Xue puffed out her cheeks, staring at him. If he didn’t want her here, she’d leave. But why was he still holding her back?

“You’re already here, why talk about leaving?” Chu Molin sighed helplessly, understanding that she was just trying to provoke him.

“Hehe, let go of me, or we’ll be the talk of the town,” Qin Xue giggled upon hearing him.

“Why did you come looking for me?” Chu Molin asked, releasing her hand. He stood on a patch of ground free from any debris looking at her questioningly.

“I was wondering, don’t we have search and rescue dogs in the military?” She thought surely there would be some by now given the advancement of the age.

“We do, but they are too few at the moment and can’t be deployed immediately. Why do you ask?” Chu Molin enquired.

“With the absence of advanced heat sensing technology and other sophisticated devices, I thought why not use rescue dogs for help. It would greatly speed up the process and improve the accuracy of finding people,” Qin Xue speculated. Was it because the dogs weren’t widespread yet?

She knew that training law enforcement dogs would be costly, but the benefits for armed forces would far outweigh the cost. Whether it’d be facing criminals or conducting search and rescue operations, dogs would play a pivotal role. She assumed that large scale training of such dogs would be underway. Seems like she was still trapped in old-age thinking, given the gap of decades between her two lives. The rapid development in the Hua Country she was familiar with was still decades away. Achieving that standard now was next to impossible.

This avenue seemed to be a dead end, so what could be done? If the current state of affairs continued, even the living would be trapped to death.

Qin Xue, propping up her chin with her hand, was in deep thought. All of her suggestions were being negated one by one.

“What are you thinking?” Chu Molin asked, noticing his wife’s troubled expression.

“I’m trying to figure out a way to quickly locate the survivors,” Qin Xue responded reflexively to Chu Molin’s question.

She wished she had acquired more professional knowledge when she had the chance. If so, even if there were lack of resources here, she could try making something herself to see if it could work.

Qin Xue oversimplified the situation. If it were as easy as she thought to invent something, Hua Country would be wealthy by now. Such technological advancements would greatly benefit mankind. The pressing circumstances just made her overthink the situation.
