Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1004: Chapter 998 Earthquake_1

“Hmm, I know, big brother is the best.” At this moment, Jing Yuan doesn’t care about the differences between men and women, or between siblings.

“Even though you know, you still need my help?” Jing Peng didn’t expect her to be so clear-headed and still ask him.

“Yes.”

…

Jing Peng never expected to have such a result. He only discovers now that Jing Yuan is different from her usual self. This is perfect for him, as she is the one he likes.

As soon as Jing Xin returns to the research institute, he receives a task. He has to hurry to H Province to provide support. A major earthquake has just occurred in a certain county and village there, and volunteers from various places are needed to assist. They also need experienced people like them who have retired from the battlefield to volunteer and assist in the rescue operations.

As soon as Xie Jun receives orders from his superiors, he immediately calls an emergency meeting. This makes those who were on vacation, who had retired and been transferred to the research institute, cancel their vacations. Everyone with experience has to immediately participate in the meeting to discuss the rescue mission.

Jing Xin never expected such an accident to happen before the New Year. This will ruin everyone’s holiday. It seems that accidents are really unpredictable.

“Director, let’s set off now. If we leave later, we don’t know what could happen.” Jing Xin speaks to Xie Jun. It’s a two-day journey from here to H Province, and any further delay would make their assistance irrelevant.

“Jing Xin, you take a few people first and fly there to assist the local rescue team. Support and aid the disaster-stricken people first, and the rest will take the train. The higher-ups have issued an order. Later there will be a special train taking the other rescuers there. When they arrive, you can join them.” Xie Jun passes on the directive. As the director of the research institute, he finds it infuriating that he can’t be the first to arrive at the disaster scene. Therefore, he can only let Jing Xin go first while he leads the rest.

Xie Jun doesn’t know why he stays behind, but this is an order from higher up. He can only obey, and follow the arrangement.

“Okay, we’re going then.” Jing Xin didn’t expect that they would even mobilize planes. The seriousness of the disaster is evident. He only hopes now that the disaster levels and casualties will be reduced.

“Go ahead, and be careful.” Xie Jun advises Jing Xin as they are about to depart.

“Yes, director. We’re leaving now.” Jing Xin nods at Xie Jun, and then sets out, leading his colleagues who just returned and have barely rested.

“Deputy Director, is the disaster situation there really severe, is that why we are rushing out?” Li Dabao asks Jing Xin.

“Natural disasters and human calamities, what do you think?” Jing Xin glances at Li Dabao and responds.

“We’re about to celebrate New Year, but the heavens won’t even let us have a peaceful one.” The faces of everyone waiting for the plane are very serious. Everyone knows that the chance of getting a plane for such a situation is very rare, but now they have arranged for them to take the plane first. It must be because they have gone out on the most missions and have more experience than others, which is why they were arranged like this.

They had just returned and finished freshening up, and hadn’t even rested for a few hours before they were woken up from their sleep. Moreover, they were serving as the first batch of rescuers, everyone knew what that meant.

Everyone was feeling very heavy-hearted; dealing with natural and human-made disasters is something that insignificant humans can’t resist, only the strong may have a chance to win.
