Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1020: Chapter 1014: Launching the Rescue_1

Upon arriving, Chu Molin entered the tent to find the person in charge. Finding the tent empty, he didn’t hesitate. He set down his things and immediately went to join the rescue efforts.

“Ah, be careful there. You can’t just move him like that. Did you see? He should not be moved. If you do, it might cause secondary injuries.” Chu Molin heard this as soon as he arrived. Looking around, he noticed a few unhurt people trying to help pull a victim from the ruins, being stopped by a doctor nearby.

“Doctor, what should we do then?” The person being admonished didn’t feel offended, accepting the doctor’s advice as right. Their lack of medical knowledge meant they would follow whatever instructions were given.

“I’ll handle this, go call those two over.” Chu Molin knelt down to examine the injured person before instructing two bystanders to fetch help. They were experienced soldiers and had undergone rigorous training for this kind of work. It was clear this wasn’t their first time. The victim may have injured their spine, any hasty actions might lead to paralysis. Just like the doctor said, they would have to be extremely careful.

“Alright, we’ll get them.” Recognizing the authoritative instructions of a soldier, the two bystanders didn’t hesitate to fetch the people Chu Molin had asked for.

“You understand what’s going on?” Dongfang He asked, observing Chu Molin.

“Yes.” Chu Molin responded succinctly, nodding his head. In such situations, it was crucial to avoid alarming the injured; trouble could arise if they refused to cooperate on further treatments. Time was of the essence, there was no room for waste.

“Given your experienced handling of the situation, I will leave you to direct the next steps. I need to check on the medical team.” Dongfang He remarked, leaving Chu Molin a little perplexed.

“Don’t get it?” Dongfang He asked, observing Chu Molin’s confusion.

“No, it’s just, I don’t know your position here. What is your role?” Chu Molin said, finding Dongfang He’s words perplexing.

“I’m a department doctor who was transferred here because of this disaster. Upon arriving, I realized the severity of the situation and that our team was scattered. So, I was temporarily assigned to a commanding role.

I feel like you manage this better than I do. So, I am leaving you to take charge of the rescue while I handle the medical staff. You understand now?” Dongfang He explained. He had only managed to relay his position to the medical team before being called to take charge.

His expertise was in medicine, not disaster management. Sure, he had observed others but having him lead, when there were more experienced personnel, seemed misplaced. That’s why Dongfang He had readily handed over his responsibility to someone more capable. Only in the right hands could this task be done most effectively.

Of course, if Dongfang He was a narrow-minded person, he wouldn’t have done this. However, he wasn’t. Therefore, he chose to return to his area of expertise and contribute his best, leaving Chu Molin to take over the rescue efforts.
