All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 145 The Great Sun Feathered SerpentHalf-Demon Zhou Zheng’s body was twisted in a bizarre posture.

His spine arched, his limbs pressed tightly against the ground, and his head was lifted high—from a distance, he looked like a snake ready to strike.

Thanks to the Yao Race Bloodline inherited from his mother, his flexibility was sufficient to support this posture.

His arms slowly stretched out like a pair of unfolding wings. His ten fingers were slightly curled, and his fingertips cast slender shadows in the sunlight, resembling the contours of feathers.

His head lifted higher and higher, his chin pointed toward the sky, and his eyes gazed at the blazing sun, as if he wanted to devour it.

The Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal between his eyebrows lit up.

The mark seemed to come alive, slowly rotating and greedily absorbing the essence of the sun.

Warm power surged in from his brow, flowing through his entire body, reshaping every inch of his flesh. His bones were strengthening, his muscles were firming, and his Bloodline was boiling.

He felt more and more clearly that there was an invisible line between himself and that majestic existence.

The God of Metamorphosis.

His god.

He did not know how long he had been Cultivating. When Half-Demon Zhou Zheng opened his eyes, he found his body was much lighter than before, but his strength had surged several times over.

Just then, three Ghouls emerged from nowhere and pounced on him.

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not retreat. He rushed forward and struck with his palm. Light flickered in his palm, and the power of the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal exploded.

The three Ghouls screeched piercingly as if burned by fire and retreated frantically. But Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not give them a chance. He chased after them, striking them down one by one, turning them all into fly ash.

He was stunned.

He knew better than anyone how difficult Ghouls were to deal with.

Over the years, he had seen too many people killed by Ghouls, and too many people who could only barely repel one with all their might. But now, he could destroy one with a single palm.

The restraining ability of the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal against Ghouls far exceeded his imagination. The light could not only injure them but also leave scorch marks on their bodies, preventing them from recovering for a long time.

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng knelt down and bowed deeply toward the sun.

”Praise the God of Metamorphosis.”

...That night, he taught the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal to his parents.

His mother was of the Yao Race and was naturally close to power, so she learned very quickly. His father was of the Human Race and had average Aptitude, but he was pious.

The two of them Cultivated day and night, soon felt the existence of the God of Metamorphosis, and became His believers.

The family of three finally had the power to protect themselves.

They returned to the Human Race settlement on the East Continent.

It was already a ruin.

The village that was intact when they left was now nothing but broken walls and debris. The survivors hid deep in the ruins, not daring to come out, light a fire, or make any sound.

When they saw Half-Demon Zhou Zheng, those people were initially overjoyed, but then they saw the scales on his body and retreated in terror.

”Yao... Yao...”

”He is a Yao! He is just like those monsters!”

”Get away! Don’t come over!”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not speak. He just raised his hand, the mark between his eyebrows lit up, and a ball of light gathered in his palm.

The light was warm, bright, and carried a power that made people feel at ease.

The aura of the Ghouls was dispersed.

Those people stared at him blankly, watching the light, watching the light dispel the darkness, dispel the fear, and dispel all the defenses in their hearts.

”What is this?”

”This is the power bestowed by the God of Metamorphosis,” said Half-Demon Zhou Zheng. ”He will grant you light, strength, and a stable life.”

He spent three days teaching the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal to everyone in the village.

After doing this, half a month later, Half-Demon Zhou Zheng bid farewell to his parents and the villagers.

”Where are you going?” his father asked.

”The South Sea,” he said. ”I want to go see those of the Yao Race.”

His father was silent for a long time, then finally nodded.

”Go. Be careful.”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng set off alone.

...Not long after he left, a young man in the village had a sudden idea.

He condensed the power of the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal onto a torch and discovered that the torch could burn indefinitely, day and night.

He stuck the torch at the entrance of the village.

When the Ghouls came, they saw the firelight and bypassed it from afar. They dared not approach again.

Other villages heard about this and came to ask for the fire. The young man distributed the torches to them—one, two, ten, a hundred.

The firelight illuminated more and more places. The faith of the God of Metamorphosis also spread.

The original village became a town. The town became a city.

That city was later known as ”Sun-Shining City”.

...The South Sea.

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng saw members of the Yao Race other than his mother for the first time.

It was a group of Feathered Serpents circling and flying over the sea. Their size was much larger than he had imagined, with the smallest being ten zhang long. They discovered Half-Demon Zhou Zheng.

”Human?”

”No, there is the scent of the Yao Race.”

”We’ll know after a fight!”

There was no extra nonsense. Three Feathered Serpents dived down, their sharp claws reaching for Half-Demon Zhou Zheng.

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not retreat. He just stood there, waiting for them to rush down.

When the claws of the first Feathered Serpent fell three feet above his head, he moved.

A punch.

The Feathered Serpent screamed and flew backward, smashing into the sea and stirring up towering waves.

The second Feathered Serpent was stunned, but it was too late to stop its momentum. Half-Demon Zhou Zheng sidestepped its sharp claws and struck it with a backhanded palm.

The power of the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal exploded, and the Feathered Serpent convulsed, fell from the sky, crashed onto the beach, and could no longer get up.

The third Feathered Serpent turned and ran.

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not chase it.

Soon, an enormously large Feathered Serpent appeared.

It rose from the deep sea, its wingspan blotting out the sky, and its scales shimmering with golden light in the sun. It was the leader of the Feathered Serpent clan, Half-Demon Zhou Zheng’s... grandfather.

But the look in its eyes as it gazed at Half-Demon Zhou Zheng held no warmth.

”A mongrel born from a human and a Yao,” the great Yao Feathered Serpent’s voice was cold. ”My daughter ran away years ago and never came back. So, she had been mixing with the weak Human Race.”

It raised its claw.

”Today, I will clean up the clan for the Feathered Serpents.”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng looked up, staring at that giant claw that blotted out the sky.

He did not retreat. He just raised his hand, and the mark between his eyebrows lit up.

Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal.

Light shot up into the sky, colliding head-on with that giant claw.

Boom—

The seawater exploded, and hundred-zhang giant waves swept in all directions. Those small Feathered Serpents were blown away, screaming as they fell into the sea.

The great Yao Feathered Serpent’s claw stopped in mid-air and could no longer fall.

It looked in shock at the small Half-Demon before it, at the rotating mark between his eyebrows, and at the power that made its Bloodline boil and its Soul tremble.

”This... what is this?”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng withdrew his hand and looked at it calmly.

”The power bestowed by the God of Metamorphosis.”

...In the days that followed, Half-Demon Zhou Zheng taught the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal to those Feathered Serpents.

They learned much faster than humans; after all, they were naturally close to the sun. Within a few days, the strength of those ordinary Feathered Serpents surged, and they excitedly flew around above the sea.

The great Yao Feathered Serpent made the fastest progress. It had already touched the threshold of Metamorphosis and was only one step away from completely changing its form.

”This power is too strong,” it sighed. ”What kind of existence is that God of Metamorphosis?”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng did not answer.

But he discovered one thing—the Great Sun Feathered Serpent Seal could only be Cultivated by members of the Yao Race who possessed the Feathered Serpent Bloodline. Those of the Yao Race without the Feathered Serpent Bloodline could not learn it no matter what.

The Yao Race was not just Feathered Serpents. There was also the Kunpeng.

They were the sworn enemies of the Feathered Serpents. Both enemies and friends, they had been fighting for countless millennia.

The great Yao Feathered Serpent told Half-Demon Zhou Zheng that the Kunpeng clan hid somewhere in the deep sea and never came out.

”It just loves to cheat,” the great Yao Feathered Serpent said. ”I made a bet with that old Kunpeng, using fine wine of the Yao Race as the stake. I won, and it hid in the sea and hasn’t come out since.”

Half-Demon Zhou Zheng looked at that vast sea. That night, he had another dream.

In the dream, the God of Metamorphosis appeared again.
