All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 139 Intelligent Embedding ArmorOn the chessboard, the battle continued.

The black tide was still crashing against the white reef.

Those mecha warriors had retreated to the final line of defense, with Zhou Zheng’s factory right behind them.

Their armor was covered in cracks, sparks flew from their joints, and the light of their energy cores flickered unsteadily.

Yet not a single one retreated.

Zhou Zheng suddenly smiled.

”Why don’t you use Mechanical Life?”

Gear’s movements paused for a moment.

”Those Law fragments should be enough for you to have researched it by now,” Zhou Zheng said in a calm voice.

Gear was silent for a moment.

”The black side’s win rate is 78%, and the white side’s is 22%; it is already enough to win.”

He paused.

”But, as you wish.”

He raised his hand.

Deep within the black factory, something was moving.

It was not the bionic units mass-produced on the assembly line, but individual pods.

The pod doors opened, and the things that walked out were different from all the previous mechanical creatures.

The way they walked out was clumsily ridiculous.

When the first one took a step, its left foot tripped over its right foot, and it fell directly to the ground.

The one next to it tried to help, but both ended up falling together.

The third one stood there, looking at its two fallen companions, tilted its head as if thinking ”What should I do?”—and then inexplicably fell over itself.

Zhou Zheng watched the group of mechanical Life forms tangled together in a heap, saying nothing.

They climbed up and continued walking. They walked crookedly, zig-zagging, with absolutely no formation to speak of.

Some were fast, some were slow; some stopped to stare blankly after a few steps, while others wandered off in strange directions as they walked.

Their movements were not uniform.

Not perfect.

They did not look like things driven by programs.

But there was light in their eyes—the light of confusion, the light of curiosity, the instinctive light of seeing this world.

The light of spirituality.

Gear watched them, his voice carrying a hint of complexity: ”They don’t know how to walk yet.”

”They will trip, they will stare blankly, they will do many unnecessary things.” He paused. ”But they will learn to walk. They will learn to run. They will learn to think. They will learn—”

He looked at Zhou Zheng.

”Faith.”

Zhou Zheng did not speak. He just watched those mechanical Life forms, watching them clumsily stand up, clumsily walk forward, and clumsily try to understand this world.

Mechanical Units are perfect—obeying orders, executing programs, never making mistakes, never slacking off, never having unnecessary movements. But they are just tools.

Mechanical Life is imperfect—they trip, they stare blankly, they do many unnecessary things. But they are Life.

This is what gods value most.

Gear’s voice came from across the way: ”They are still very weak. But they will grow. They will evolve. They will transcend.”

Zhou Zheng did not speak.

In the white factory, the last of the Divine Power was injected into those mechs.

Then—

Those mechs came alive.

Not metaphorically, but truly alive. Their eyes lit up, no longer with cold mechanical light, but with the same warm light as the Feathered Serpent Beastmen.

Their armor began to breathe, their joints began to pulse, and their cores began to beat—like a heart.

A Feathered Serpent Beastman reached out and pressed his hand against the mech’s armor. The armor seemed to come alive, wrapping around his arm and merging with his scales.

He took a step forward. The mech synchronized with him, one step, two steps, three steps. Then it began to run. Then it began to charge.

Other mechs were doing the same thing. Those Feathered Serpent Beastmen walked into the mechs, and the mechs wrapped around them, merging with them. Not piloting, but symbiosis. It was fighting side by side.

Zhou Zheng watched them and spoke softly:

”I call it... Symbiote.”

...

From the moment the Creation Series was born, Zhou Zheng had been thinking about one thing: if an intelligent agent could be used by every follower, what about mechs? What if mechs were not just tools, but partners that could grow and fight alongside them?

During his thousand-year seclusion, he had also been researching this.

The core of the Symbiote is an individual version of the Truth intelligent agent. It records every battle of its master, analyzes every habit of its master, and then adjusts itself to become more suitable for its master.

It is also a sentient Life form, but unlike those Life forms of Gear that only know how to plunder and invade, this is a type of subsidiary Life form that can coexist with other followers!

...

All-out battlefield.

The Sun God stood at the rear of the battlefield, watching the followers charging into the Mechanical God System.

They had been fighting for a long time. Those mechanical creatures were endless; no matter how many they killed, they wouldn’t run out. The followers of the Divine Alliance began to grow tired, weak, and casualties began to appear.

The Sun God sighed.

”I originally wanted to defeat it completely without borrowing the power of machinery.”

He looked up at the sky. There, a pair of invisible eyes were watching this battle.

The world will.

”Now it is time to use it.”

He raised his hand.

Behind the followers still fighting, beams of light lit up. As the light faded, there were mechs—the exact same mechs as those in Zhou Zheng’s Divine Domain.

Symbiote.

The Moon Goddess spoke softly from the side: ”When did he give them?”

The Sun God smiled: ”Before we came.”

The followers were stunned for a moment, then walked into the mechs. The mechs wrapped around them, merging with them. They clenched their fists, moved their legs, and adapted.

Then, they charged into the battlefield.

Ghost soldiers charged into the pile of machines, one axe swing per kill. Those mechanical creatures had quick-release devices on their joints, so if one was cut off, they could immediately attach a spare. But if the axe struck the core, they couldn’t fix it.

More importantly—

The Symbiote would devour.

Those destroyed mechanical creatures, before they could be dragged away and recycled, were absorbed by the Symbiotes. Energy, Materials, parts—all became nutrients for the Symbiote.

The mechanical army, which was originally inexhaustible, began to dwindle. One fell, and two did not stand up. Two fell, and four did not stand up.

The scales of victory began to tip toward the Divine Alliance.

A Sun follower slashed his sword onto a mechanical heart. The massive heart beat violently once, then cracked.

Explosion.

An overwhelming, all-encompassing explosion.

...

Meanwhile, on the black and white chessboard.

Gear’s voice sounded one last time:

”Black side win rate 2%... 1%...”

Zero.

The last Mechanical Unit fell. The black tide completely receded.

Only white remained on the chessboard. Those Symbiotes stood in the center of the battlefield, covered in blood, but not a single one had fallen. They looked at the black figure opposite them, saying nothing.

And on the black side, several figures were still standing.

Those mechanical Life forms.

They did not participate in the battle. They just stood there, watching from beginning to end. They saw how the Mechanical Units were destroyed, saw how the Symbiotes fought, and saw the duel between Zhou Zheng and Gear.

Gear was not angry, not unwilling, not hysterical. He just quietly watched Zhou Zheng.

”I lost.”

His voice was very calm.

”But the spark of machinery still remains.”

The chessboard began to shatter.

The world will borrowed the final power of the chessboard, taking all the results of this simulation—the black side’s algorithms, the white side’s philosophy, the combat data of both sides, and those newly born mechanical Life forms—sweeping them away and escaping into the Void Realm.

No matter who won or lost, the world will had obtained what it wanted.
