All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 109 Strange Pictorial Record”Sigh, you’ve really brought disaster upon our village, upon us!” The Old Rabbit Person slumped dejectedly on the ground, slapping his thighs. His face was a mask of lingering fear and resentment.

”Abominations cannot be killed! You’ve only temporarily destroyed its manifestation, but it will revive from the laws of reality—and next time, it will be even stronger! Once it wakes up, you’ll be the first one it hunts down!”

”Once dawn breaks, you must leave! You have that Abomination Mark on the back of your hand; it’s like a torch in the dark, it will attract even more ominous things!”

The Elemental Naga remained silent, merely staring at the Old Rabbit Person with cold, vertical pupils, showing no emotion whatsoever.

Suddenly, the Old Rabbit Person’s long, drooping ears twitched violently. His expression shifted instantly. ”Shh—! Don’t make a sound, something else is coming!”

He lowered his voice and prayed urgently. The light from the bronze mirror in his hand distorted, and a massive, phantom lantern emitting a hazy red glow emerged on the mirror’s surface.

The Old Rabbit Person turned pale and quickly pulled two crumpled but strikingly bright red cloths from under the bed. ”Quick! Put these on! Don’t make a sound!”

Just as the two of them finished wrapping themselves tightly in the red cloths, an eerie red light enveloped everything outside the window.

Only after ’seeing’ that there were just two quiet ’red lanterns’ in the room did the red light slowly move away, departing with satisfaction.

About an hour later, the two shaken individuals actually began playing rock-paper-scissors.

Outside the window, a massive, pale hand covered in fur reached in. After ’discovering’ that the two people inside already had partners for their game, it seemed very sad and withdrew resentfully.

After a whole night of being on edge and dealing with all sorts of bizarre rules, even the powerful Elemental Naga felt mentally exhausted.

When a sliver of gray finally appeared on the horizon and true dawn arrived, the Old Rabbit Person let out a long sigh of relief.

He laboriously moved the dilapidated wooden bed and pulled out a thick, yellowed, and frayed book wrapped in oilcloth from beneath the floorboards, thrusting it into the Elemental Naga’s hands.

”Leave quickly and quietly before the others in the village come out.”

”This is a record of the various abominations our village has encountered over the years, paid for with our lives. Take it. I’ve long since memorized everything in there anyway.”

The Elemental Naga took the book and flipped it open. On the coarse paper, crooked text and unsettling illustrations were recorded in crude ink.

【Faceless Skin-Painter】, village-level abomination. If you make eye contact for more than three breaths, the Death condition is triggered. No way to escape!

【Echoing Puppet】, village-level abomination. If you answer more than three of its questions, you will be assimilated into a puppet. If you proactively cut off one of your own ears while it is questioning you, you can escape!

【Withered Bone Earth Lord】, town-level abomination. Travels through the ley lines. If black blood seeps from the ground where it passes, three sacrifices must be offered immediately, or the entire village will sink!

...

”Village-level, town-level... are there higher levels after these?” the Elemental Naga asked casually.

The Old Rabbit Person looked at her as if she were a fool: ”If we had encountered an abomination more powerful than a town-level one, how could we still be here talking to you!”

The Elemental Naga said no more and pushed open the creaking wooden door.

Although it was daytime, the sun in the sky appeared exceptionally dim and sallow. The sunlight fell feebly, completely unable to disperse the coldness permeating the air.

”This sun... did it just recently start becoming this dim?” she asked, frowning slightly.

The Old Rabbit Person looked bewildered and glanced up at the sky. ”Dim? Where? It’s been like this for all these years, hasn’t it?”

He gave the Elemental Naga an impatient shove. ”Stop dawdling and get going! If you wait any longer, they’ll see you!”

...

Not long after the Elemental Naga left, a fire was lit in the clearing at the center of the village.

”Burn this bringer of misfortune!” ”For the safety of the village!”

The Old Rabbit Person was seen tied tightly with coarse ropes, his mouth stuffed with a rag, and a pile of hay beneath him. He struggled desperately, his eyes filled with despair and confusion.

”Everyone heard the commotion last night! Someone died in your house, yet you didn’t!”

The leading Rabbit Person villager held a torch, shouting righteously at the bound Old Rabbit Person.

”Even though you don’t have an ’Abomination Mark’ on your hand, for everyone’s safety, who’s to say you haven’t already been marked by something else! You must be sacrificed!”

The torch was about to be thrown onto the hayloft.

Just then, waves of cold, skin-crawling auras swept through the entire village without warning!

At the village outskirts, that faint water trail had been partially erased by the Elemental Naga when she left, making it impossible to form a complete circle.

In the next second, countless massive ants with terrifying mandibles and shells shimmering with a nether luster—Nether Soldier Ants—appeared around every villager like a tide surging from the shadows!

Their cold compound eyes locked onto every living thing. A massive wave of terror poured down like ice water, instantly drowning the entire village!
