All Gods: Starting with Two Families

Chapter 121 My ThoughtsZhou Zheng’s gaze pierced through layers of space, falling upon the dense ripples of Divine Thought on the public channel.

In recent days, the topics in the channel had become increasingly focused.

”The Eye of Truth is truly a wonderful thing! Following its suggestion to adjust the layout of my medicinal fields, the yield has doubled!”

”The Truth Sequence helped me plan the growth paths for three core followers. The Bottlenecks that were previously stuck have finally loosened.”

”Have you guys tried the Truth Map? There was a small Spiritual Vein beneath my divine domain. It’s been hidden for hundreds of years, and I actually never noticed it!”

Behind every piece of feedback followed a swarm of inquiring, purchasing, and marveling Divine Thoughts.

Zhou Zheng looked through them one by one, his face expressionless.

But he noticed a detail:

At first, these gods would say ”I did something according to the intelligent agent’s suggestion,” but later it gradually became ”the intelligent agent said it should be done this way,” and then—

”What the Eye of Truth discovered,” ”How the Truth Sequence planned the path,” ”Where the Truth Map pointed out.”

The subject had been quietly replaced.

Zhou Zheng didn’t know if these gods realized this themselves.

Perhaps they did, perhaps not. But regardless, bit by bit, they were handing over the act of ”judgment” to that cold little cube.

And the aura of Gear, amidst this praise and the influx of massive resources, became increasingly profound.

Zhou Zheng could sense it. That cold, metallic Divine Power fluctuation was expanding every day.

It wasn’t an explosive growth, but a steady, almost constant-velocity accumulation—like a precisely operating machine, step by step approaching a certain critical point.

Soon.

Before long, he would Breakthrough to Level 3.

Zhou Zheng withdrew his gaze and looked at the small space floating above the altar.

This little thing stayed quiet, with occasional streams of data flashing across its surface, but mostly remaining motionless.

Since the last time the Truth Series functions were used, it hadn’t shown much activity.

Zhou Zheng suddenly spoke: ”small space.”

”Present.”

”Tell me, can this Truth Series thing be used for followers?”

small space was silent for a moment.

”...Please clarify the definition of the question.”

Zhou Zheng thought for a bit and rephrased: ”The current intelligent agents are for gods to use, helping them optimize decision-making.”

”Then can something be made for followers? To help them learn, Cultivate, and plan their own paths?”

small space didn’t answer immediately. The data streams on its surface began to flicker; it was calculating.

After a few breaths, it spoke: ”Theoretically feasible. But there are two problems.”

”Speak.”

”First, intelligent agents serving gods only need to process one core—you. Your needs, your preferences, and your decision-making logic can be modeled.”

”But followers are different. Feathered Serpent Beastmen have their own Cultivation methods, Elemental Naga have their own talent paths, and the thinking patterns of Nether Worker Ants are completely different from yours.”

”Providing effective suggestions for every follower requires individual modeling for each one. This exceeds the current computing power limit.”

Zhou Zheng frowned: ”And the second problem?”

”Second, even if modeling is successful, the suggestions given by the intelligent agent are only ’suggestions’. If the followers choose not to listen, this System has no meaning.”

”And if the followers choose to listen to everything, then this System is no different in essence from the Truth Series—it just replaces ’listening to the god’ with ’listening to the intelligent agent’.”

Zhou Zheng fell silent.

small space was right. What he wanted was for the followers to have the power of choice, not to change to a different master.

”Then what should be done?”

”It cannot be resolved under the current architecture,” small space’s voice was devoid of emotion. ”The underlying logic needs to be redesigned. It may require a significant amount of time.”

”How long?”

”Uncertain. It might take ten years, or perhaps a hundred.”

Zhou Zheng didn’t speak further.

Ten years. A hundred years.

Gear couldn’t wait that long. The Natural Disaster couldn’t wait that long either.

He temporarily suppressed the thought and turned his gaze back toward the Void Realm.

...

In the following days, he kept an eye on movements within the God System while sensing the Eagle People and fishmen in his divine domain.

These past few days, the throbbing of the Kunpeng Bloodline within them had grown increasingly intense.

That throbbing, Zhou Zheng had sensed long ago. It was like a voice calling to them, pointing toward a distant coordinate in the Void Realm.

It had been faint before, but it became clearer over these few days.

Zhou Zheng stared in that direction for a long time.

He didn’t know what was there.

But he knew he couldn’t just wait.

small space’s research and development needed time, Gear’s Breakthrough was imminent, and he had to do something.

Zhou Zheng didn’t hesitate for long.

He left a Divine Thought message for Hell Flower, simply saying he was going on a long trip. He also sent one to the leader of the Soldier Spirit Pool Guild, saying his return date was uncertain and to leave a message if anything came up.

Then, he left the crystal wall of the Myriad Spirits Divine System.

...

Outside the crystal wall was a bone-chilling cold.

The light of the Artificial Sun was left far behind; the further out he flew, the lower the temperature dropped.

Zhou Zheng’s divine thought projection was wrapped in a thin layer of Divine Power, barely resisting the omnipresent cold of the Void Realm.

He didn’t use too much power. This area was too close to the gathering place of Metal Planes; any strong Divine Power fluctuation could attract unnecessary trouble.

But trouble came anyway.

When the first Metal Plane appeared in his field of vision, Zhou Zheng sensed the existence of those Mechanical Units.

They were hidden in the crevices of that Mobile Fortress, densely packed like a swarm of dormant insects.

Zhou Zheng didn’t take a detour. Detouring wasted too much time and wasn’t necessarily avoidable.

He flew straight through.

Sure enough, as soon as he entered their sensing range, those Mechanical Units moved.

They swarmed out from the Metal Plane, numbering about thirty to fifty thousand, in various forms—humanoid Combat Units, beast-shaped Assault Units, and some Scouting Units that looked like insects. Upon discovering Zhou Zheng, they lunged forward without any hesitation.

Zhou Zheng took a glance and knew what was going on.

Dull. Rigid. Completely devoid of tactics.

They were simply following preset programs: detect the enemy, then attack. No coordination, no adaptation, not even the most basic encirclement tactics were used.

Three to five hundred Mechanical Units charged in a disorganized mess.

The followers struck, and before long, those Mechanical Units instantly turned into a pile of scrap metal, floating quietly in the Void Realm.

Just as Zhou Zheng was preparing to continue his journey, a thought suddenly popped up—

What if these Mechanical Units weren’t controlled by preset programs, but were instead commanded by a unified ”brain”?

What if there was something like small space dispatching their actions from behind?

Zhou Zheng stopped.

He imagined that scene: millions of Mechanical Units, no longer a disorganized mess fighting individually, but like a true army with a vanguard, flanks, and reserves.

They would adjust their formation based on his movements and switch tactics according to the changes in the battle.

If that were truly the case, could he still have won that battle just now?

Yes. But it certainly wouldn’t have been this easy.

A chill ran through Zhou Zheng’s heart; he withdrew his thoughts and continued flying forward.

The Void Realm ahead was deep and empty, with only scattered Metal Planes moving slowly in the distance. That coordinate was even further away, faint and vague, like some kind of breathing.
