I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

99: Publicly announced! The island nation is shaken!Shiga Kōzo’s words were like a massive stone thrown into a calm lake, stirring up a tremendous storm in Aoi Shōta’s heart.

Leading the world into a new era... this prospect was too tempting, yet also too insane.

Seeing the clear signs of wavering and deliberation on the Prime Minister’s face, Kōzo knew he had to add fuel to the fire and lay out the cruel reality completely.

He took a step forward and added in a heavy tone:

”Your Excellency the Prime Minister, please think again about the situation in Hiroshima! That catastrophic explosion of unknown origin, yet with power comparable to, or even exceeding, a nuclear detonation.

And the subsequent invasion of terrifying creatures hatched from those unknown Meat Spheres... After this riot in Tokyo, I fear the news can no longer be suppressed!”

Hearing the words ”Hiroshima,” Aoi Shōta’s face instantly grew darker, as if he had aged several years in a moment.

That incident had always been the highest-level Cabinet secret, a Sword of Damocles hanging over his head.

Leaving aside the source of the explosion, which remains inexplicable to this day, the sheer number of terrifying, rapidly evolving monsters of various forms that emerged like a plague after the blast was enough to keep any insider awake at night.

According to intelligence bought with the lives of the frontline Exorcism Troops, those monsters not only possessed extremely strong reproductive capacity and environmental adaptability.

What was more terrifying was that they seemed to be undergoing a frenzied, leapfrog evolution; the strength, abilities, and threat level of the individuals appearing after a certain period would increase exponentially!

”The Hiroshima Restricted Zone... what is the current progress of the cleanup work?”

Aoi Shōta rubbed his throbbing temples, his voice hoarse as he turned to the female expert from the Special Adjustment Department who specialized in Onmyōdō.

This person was a core member responsible for handling the Hiroshima incident.

The woman, dressed in a special Talisman Combat Uniform, exchanged glances with Shiga Kōzo, both revealing solemnity and a hint of... confusion.

The one leading the group took a deep breath and reported:

”Your Excellency the Prime Minister, before we came to Tokyo for support, the cleanup work within the Blockade Line had originally achieved phased progress, and the frequency of new monster appearances had decreased.

However... just two days ago, the Monitoring Talisman Arrays and detectors we set up in the core area of the Restricted Zone simultaneously lost track of the energy signature of the Mother Body we had initially located.”

”What?!” Aoi Shōta suddenly raised his head.

”Missing? What do you mean? How could such a massive Mother Body, the source of the contamination, disappear into thin air?!”

”We are not sure either.” The Onmyōji woman shook her head, her tone filled with disbelief.

”It was as if... it evaporated. There were no signs of large-scale movement, no indications of energy bursts or dissipation; it just... suddenly vanished.

Now, the situation inside the Restricted Zone is even more complicated and bizarre; losing the Mother Body’s energy signal has made the activities of the remaining monsters even more unpredictable and chaotic.”

”Trash! A bunch of useless trash!” Aoi Shōta finally couldn’t hold back, cursing under his breath.

The mess in Tokyo hadn’t been cleaned up yet, and now the biggest hidden danger in Hiroshima had inexplicably vanished. It was as if someone was deliberately mocking him.

Internal strife and external threats—all the terrible things were piling up at once.

A brief silence fell over the secret room, broken only by Aoi Shōta’s heavy breathing and the sound of his fingers unconsciously tapping the table.

He closed his eyes, rapidly weighing the pros and cons in his mind.

Concealment was already full of holes, public trust had plummeted to freezing point, and social unrest was on the verge of breaking out.

Disclosure carried immense risk, but perhaps... they could truly find a way out of desperation, using the power of ”Gods” to turn the tide in one fell swoop?

A few minutes later, Aoi Shōta suddenly opened his eyes, a flicker of fierce determination flashing within them.

He stood up, straightened his slightly disheveled suit, glanced over the four people before him, and said gravely:

”Wait here for orders. Kōzo, compile your plan into a detailed Top-Secret Report. I must immediately go and seek an audience with His Majesty the Emperor, state the potential benefits and harms, and request a Sacred Judgment!”

He paused, lowering his voice further, revealing an unusual implication:

”In fact... His Majesty has subtly revealed similar ideas to me in recent days... Perhaps, the time... has truly arrived. Prepare everything, including... preparations for the descent of a Divine Miracle!”

Having finished speaking, Aoi Shōta no longer hesitated, turning and striding out of the secret room.

Shiga Kōzo and the other three were left looking at each other, all seeing immense shock in the other’s eyes, and a heavy sense that history was about to unfold before them.

His Majesty the Emperor... also intended to disclose the existence of the Gods?

...A few days later.

An unprecedented emergency national live press conference, personally hosted by Japanese Prime Minister Aoi Shōta, began amidst an atmosphere that was extremely solemn yet filled with undercurrents.

The Prime Minister before the camera had a solemn expression, his eyes showing a do-or-die determination.

Instead of using vague diplomatic language as usual, he dropped a bombshell on the entire nation and the world in a manner that was almost blunt and utterly subversive:

”Fellow Citizens, the series of major incidents that have recently occurred in Hiroshima, Tokyo, and other places, following rigorous investigation and confirmation by the government and relevant departments, are not ordinary natural disasters or human accidents.

The videos and information circulating online regarding Unidentified Mysterious Animals (UMA)... are largely true. What we are facing are Supernatural Phenomena that transcend current scientific understanding.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire nation was uproar!

The comment section under the live broadcast instantly exploded. Countless Citizens in front of their televisions and phone screens were stunned speechless, the facade of ”normality” that the government had desperately tried to maintain for so long was completely shattered.

However, even more shocking news followed. Aoi Shōta took a deep breath, as if gathering the strength needed to announce an even more earth-shattering secret, and then continued:

”Furthermore, based on ancient documents preserved by the Imperial Family and the top-secret investigations conducted by the Special Adjustment Department, we can confirm that... Gods are real.”

”Our nation’s Imperial Family has had an extraordinary connection with the Gods of Takamagahara since ancient times.

The stone tablets unearthed through contact with the Gods and Divine Miracles by the Imperial Family prove that His Majesty the Emperor is the direct descendant of Amaterasu Ōmikami, bearing the sacred mission of communicating between Gods and humans and protecting the nation.”

He then tossed out a string of names that were household names in Japanese mythology but had never been officially confirmed with such solemnity:

”Protecting our Great Japanese Empire is not only Amaterasu Ōmikami, but also Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, Izanagi-no-Mikoto, Izanami-no-Mikoto, and other revered deities... and even the Eight Million Gods!”

This news was like pouring a basin of ice water into a boiling oil pot, instantly triggering an unimaginable social tsunami.

The entire Japanese Archipelago, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, fell into a brief, extreme silence, followed immediately by a total nationwide frenzy!

Especially the far-right groups and remnants of Militarism, they were injected with a powerful stimulant, surging onto the streets fanatically, waving old flags and screaming hoarsely:

”Heaven protects the Imperial Nation! Divine Wind shall appear!”

”Long live the Great Japanese Empire! Long live His Majesty the Emperor!”

”Protected by the Eight Million Gods, Japan shall rise again and lead the world!”

A certain emotion suppressed within the national psyche for years seemed to have found an outlet for the floodgates.

They viewed these supernatural events and the existence of the Gods as the ultimate proof of Japan’s national uniqueness and superiority—a sign that ”Divine Nation” Japan was about to usher in a great revival...
