I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

86: Escaped alive? Encountering another monster!Meanwhile, the escape route for Sato Ryuichi and his team had turned into a dead end paved with blood.

The screams of the team members behind them had long been drowned out by the roars and chewing sounds of the monsters.

The elite squad, originally numbering over a dozen, was now reduced to just four people standing back-to-back in a circle, fighting like cornered beasts amidst the ruins and broken walls.

Sato Ryuichi, Ja-Ya, Ka-Lizard, and a team member codenamed ”Kageyaiba”—the special shuriken tightly gripped in his hand was dripping with viscous monster bodily fluids.

But clearly, this type of projectile weapon had limited effectiveness against the tidal wave of attacks.

Each of them was covered in wounds, their combat suits tattered, and their bodies covered in claw marks and corrosive slime.

Ja-Ya’s toad-like vocal sac heaved violently, emitting wheezing sounds like a broken bellows; his mutated skin had several wounds deep enough to see the bone, and the blood flowing out was an unnatural dark green.

”Cap... captain! What should we do?! We can’t break through! These things are gathering in even greater numbers!”

Ja-Ya’s voice carried uncontrollable trembling and despair; his genetic ability leaned more towards support and analysis, and he was nearing his limit in this kind of hard-hitting war of attrition.

Sato Ryuichi pressed his pale lips tightly together, cold sweat oozing from his forehead sliding down mixed with bloodstains.

Under the pressure of life and death, his ”Swift Flying Rabbit” genetic fragment was stimulated to its extreme; the pupils of his eyes elongated slightly, his dynamic vision and neural reaction speed were elevated to their peak, and he scanned his surroundings rapidly.

The monsters surrounded them, three layers deep inside and out, their compound eyes flashing with cruel, bloodthirsty light, and low growls came from all directions, like a death knell.

The southeast direction! The number of monsters there was relatively sparse; although there were still over a dozen, it was the only gap in this desperate encirclement!

They couldn’t wait any longer! Every second of delay meant more monsters would surge from the shadows, completely sealing off their last path to survival!

Sato Ryuichi took a sharp breath, suppressing the burning pain in his chest caused by excessive energy consumption, and roared with all his might, his voice iron-clad and unquestionable:

”No time to hesitate! At all costs! Break through to the southeast!”

The high-frequency oscillating Long Sword in his hand hummed again, its tip pointing directly in that direction.

”Ka-Lizard! Clear the way! Use your fiercest flames to clear a path! Kageyaiba, cover the flanks! Ja-Ya, stay close to me!”

”Remember! Our mission is not to kill them all! It is to get the intelligence here out! Even if we die, we must die on the path to delivering the message! Charge!”

Before the words had even faded, Ka-Lizard had already let out a beast-like roar; the skin on his arms instantly turned bright crimson, as if they were molten steel!

He opened his mouth wide, and a searing white pillar of fire, more concentrated than before and with a temperature so high it made the air twist and boil, shot fiercely toward the group of monsters in the southeast like a spear of flame!

”Boom—!”

The crackling sound of flames burning shells and the miserable wails of the monsters immediately rang out! The encirclement was forced open, tearing a brief gap with this desperate strike!

”Go!”

Sato Ryuichi moved like lightning, charging first into the passage cleared by the sea of fire, his Long Sword dancing to completely slash apart the monsters struggling but not yet dead in the flames.

Kageyaiba’s shuriken were thrown like a whirlwind of death, precisely shooting toward the compound eyes and joints of the monsters attempting to pounce from both sides.

Ja-Ya gritted his teeth and erupted with his last remaining strength to follow closely behind.

The breakout arrowhead formed by the four of them had just relied on Ka-Lizard’s desperate flame jet and Sato Ryuichi’s precise and ruthless blade to tear a bloody path through the tide of monsters, rushing out of the densest encirclement.

Behind them were the raging flames and the angry roars of the monsters, while ahead seemed to be a relatively open area of ruins.

The relief of surviving the disaster hadn’t yet had time to well up in their hearts—

”Boom!!”

The ground in front of them suddenly exploded! Amidst the splashing mud and gravel, a massive, bloated, worm-like monster that seemed magnified countless times burst from the earth.

It had no eyes, no obvious facial features; its entire ”head” was just a gaping maw that constantly opened and closed, filled with layers upon layers of circular sharp teeth.

Carrying a nauseating earthy stench and rot, it bit down directly toward the four of them! Intending to swallow them in one gulp!

”Watch out!” Sato Ryuichi’s pupils constricted sharply, and he shouted a warning! This sudden attack had a tricky angle and was extremely fast!

But the instincts honed from years of walking on the edge of life and death saved him.

Almost at the instant the vibration came from under his feet, he had already retreated half a step, while simultaneously sinking his waist, his body’s strength like a spring compressed to the limit, and the ”Swift Flying Rabbit” genetic power in his legs erupted!

”Swish—!”

He launched himself into the air using that force, not to dodge, but to charge upward against the giant maw that was biting down.

The high-frequency oscillating Long Sword in his hand completed its charge in an instant, the humming sound from the blade sharp and piercing!

”Open... up!”

In mid-air, Sato Ryuichi let out an angry roar, his body rotating, pouring all his strength and momentum into his arms, and a highly condensed, blindingly cold, crescent-shaped blade aura whistled out!

”Pfft—!!”

The blade aura slashed with pinpoint accuracy into the depths of the giant maw opened by the flesh-ball monster, then cut backward like a hot knife through butter.

Accompanied by teeth-gritting tearing sounds and the splattering sound of slime spraying from within the monster, this massive, worm-like monster was actually split in two right down its central axis.

The two soft, limp halves of flesh fell heavily to the ground, still twitching incessantly.

”Go!” Sato Ryuichi stumbled as he landed, forcing himself to endure the muscle tearing sensation caused by excessive exertion, and continued charging forward without looking back.

Ja-Ya, Ka-Lizard, and Kageyaiba also suppressed the shock in their hearts and followed closely behind, not daring to pause in the slightest.

The group exhausted all their strength and finally completely rushed out of the core area of the incubation field, which was like purgatory, leaving most of the pursuing monsters behind.

They rushed into a relatively quiet area of ruins with only scattered building debris.

”Ha... ha... we... we made it out!” Ja-Ya leaned on his knees, panting heavily, his face filled with unbelievable ecstasy and the paleness of exhaustion.

Ka-Lizard and Kageyaiba also slightly relaxed their tense nerves, vigilantly looking back at the path they came from to confirm they were temporarily safe.

However, there was no relaxation at all on Sato Ryuichi’s face. The extraordinary perception granted by his ”Swift Flying Rabbit” gene allowed him to catch a deeper, more chilling aura of danger, coming from their... directly ahead.

He slowly turned his head, his gaze cast toward that only path of escape for them.

Just about fifty meters ahead, at the entrance of an abandoned street park, a figure stood quietly, as if it had been waiting for a long time.

It was a human-like silhouette, but exceptionally tall and burly, standing nearly three meters tall, its figure bloated and hideous, straining the tattered clothes on its body—which were covered in dark red stains and barely recognizable—until they were taut.

Most hair-raising of all was its head—it was not a human face, but a hideous and twisted pig’s head.

Huge tusks protruded from its curled-back lips, and greedy, cruel light flickered in its small, murky eyes.

One of its arms, absurdly thick, dragged a massive double-edged axe with a blade covered in nicks and dark red blood scabs; the axe was so heavy it seemed it could easily cleave through a tank’s armor.

And in its other hand, it was holding a piece of bloody human intestine that seemed to still be slightly wriggling.

Like eating noodles, it unhurriedly stuffed it into that chewing pig mouth, making a hair-raising ”smacking” sound.

Sato Ryuichi’s blood seemed to freeze in that instant.

He didn’t even need any analysis or judgment; a form of extreme fear, stemming from the most instinctive level of life when facing a natural predator, washed over his entire body like ice water! Every cell was screaming frantically, sending out the same signal:

Run!

Run at all costs!

Absolutely must not make an enemy of it!

This is not an existence they can contend with!

The pig-headed giant axe monster before him brought a sense of oppression and an aura of death that was far more intense and direct than all those before.

This was a pure, unadorned terror that existed solely for slaughter and consumption!
