I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

80: A strange fleshy ball?”Wh-what?!”

All color drained from Gu-Nan’s face, his pupils contracting sharply in extreme horror!

He instinctively stumbled back a large step, his heel catching on loose stones, nearly making him fall!

”N-no! That’s impossible!”

He cried out hoarsely, his voice cracking, the hand gripping his knife trembling violently, while his other hand clutched desperately at his chest, as if to ward off that invisible demand.

”My heart... how can my heart be taken out! I’ll die if it’s taken out!”

However, faced with his terrified refusal, the standard, eerie smile on the little girl’s face remained unchanged.

Clutching her worn rag doll, she began to approach him, step by step, unhurriedly.

Her hollow black eyes were fixed on Gu-Nan, and her soft voice became unusually stubborn, carrying an unsettling, undeniable urgency as she repeated, over and over:

”Onii-chan... give it to me...”

”Hurry and give it to me...”

”Let me see... just one look...”

”Onii-chan... give it to me...”

Her voice seemed to carry a strange magic, each syllable like a cold needle piercing Gu-Nan’s brain, stirring his sanity and amplifying his deepest fears!

The surrounding horde of monsters also let out more agitated and threatening growls and snarls, slowly tightening their encirclement, their sharp claws scraping the ground with a grating ’crunch’.

Gu-Nan felt like he was going crazy from this invisible pressure! He staggered backward, trying to create distance, while incoherently attempting to ’reason’:

”No! Really, no! Look... a heart can only beat inside, if you take it out... it’ll be ruined! It won’t look good anymore! Yes! It won’t look good!”

He even tried to divert her attention, pointing to the doll in her arms: ”Your doll! The doll is so cute! How about we play with the doll? I’ll help you sew its eyes back on!”

But all his efforts were in vain.

The little girl ignored his words, relentlessly and persistently approaching, her pale little hand stubbornly pointing at his chest, and in the depths of her hollow eyes, black whirlpools seemed to spin.

”Onii-chan... is lying...”

”The heart... red and beating... is the prettiest...”

”Give it to me...”

”Hurry and give it to me!”

Her voice gradually lost its initial softness, becoming sharp, impatient, and almost hysterical! The ambient air temperature seemed to plummet with it!

Gu-Nan’s back slammed hard against a charred, broken wall, leaving him no retreat! Icy despair instantly engulfed him!

Gu-Nan’s back slammed hard against a charred, cold broken wall, sendinggravel and dust cascading down.

No retreat! Icy despair, like a tide, instantly engulfed him!

He abruptly looked back—only hard, cold ruins, no escape route!

”Damn it... damn it!” A desperate curse escaped his heart, his adrenaline surging to its peak, and the instinct for survival made him almost want to unleash all his strength for a final, desperate struggle!

However—

Just as he sharply turned back, trying to get a clear look at the approaching little girl and prepare for a desperate counterattack... his pupils suddenly contracted to the size of dangerous pinpricks!

The lifeless face of the little girl with that eerie smile had, at some unknown moment, silently drawn close to his own!

Within arm’s reach!

He could even clearly see the pure black whirlpools spinning in her hollow eyes, as if capable of devouring souls!

”Onii-chan...” That soft yet chillingly cold voice, almost pressed against his gas mask, delivered a final declaration that made his heart stop.

”—!”

Gu-Nan couldn’t even react! He couldn’t even see how she moved!

He only felt a sudden chill in his chest! An indescribable pain and emptiness, as if his soul had been instantly ripped out, swept through his entire body like a tsunami!

He subconsciously, incredulously, looked down—

He saw a pale, slender little hand that had silently pierced through his tactical vest, his chest muscles, his ribs, as if entering an empty space!

That little hand was slowly withdrawing from his chest... and in the palm of that little hand, a still faintly beating, steaming, hot blood-flowing... crimson heart was cradled!

That was... his heart!

”Hoo... hoo...” Gu-Nan’s throat emitted a broken, unpitched wheezing sound like a bellows. His body lost all strength, slowly sliding down the broken wall to the ground, his vision rapidly darkening and blurring.

Before his consciousness completely sank into eternal darkness, the last thing he saw was—

The little girl holding his heart, a look of extreme satisfaction, purity, and even childlike innocence, a radiant smile on her face.

She carefully cradled the still-beating heart, as if she had received the most precious toy in the world, and giggled happily.

”Hehe... red and beating...”

”...So much fun...”

The surrounding monster horde let out deafening, frenzied roars, as if in celebration!

Gu-Nan’s consciousness completely ceased... Inside the temporary command post, Sato Ryuichi listened to the last gunshot, exclamation, and then the complete, unsettling silence from Gu-Nan’s squad channel on the communicator, his brows tightly furrowed.

He slowly put down the communicator, his face terribly grim.

”Gu-Nan’s squad... signal completely lost,” he announced in a low voice.

The remaining ten elite Special Adjustment Department members in the command post grew solemn at the news, their gazes uniformly fixed on Sato Ryuichi, an atmosphere of tension and unease permeating the air.

”Sir, Gu-Nan’s squad isn’t weak, yet they’ve all lost contact in such a short time...” A veteran team member couldn’t help but speak, his voice filled with worry.

”They probably didn’t encounter ordinary Contaminated Entities! We need to immediately send people to support or at least ascertain the situation!”

”Yes, sir! The situation is unclear, it’s too dangerous!”

Sato Ryuichi remained silent, his fingers unconsciously tapping the table.

He knew Gu-Nan’s squad’s combat strength well; their sudden annihilation meant an extremely dangerous anomaly had appeared in that area, far exceeding expectations.

Rashly sending more people in would likely only increase casualties.

Just as he was weighing the pros and cons, hesitating whether to send a second reconnaissance team or request higher-level support—

”Rep-report!”

A team member responsible for outer perimeter security rushed into the command post, panting and pale-faced. He didn’t even have time to salute before urgently shouting.

”Sir! We... we found an anomaly at the edge of the explosion’s core zone!”

Everyone’s attention was instantly drawn.

”Calm down! Explain clearly! What anomaly?” Sato Ryuichi asked in a deep voice.

The team member took a deep breath, trying to calm his breathing, but his eyes still held unbelievable horror: ”It’s... it’s Meat Spheres! Many... many strange Meat Spheres!”

He gestured, his tone somewhat chaotic: ”It’s in a ruined area not too far from the blast epicenter projection point! We were originally setting up a quarantine zone, but then we found the ground... the ground was wriggling!”

After digging away the surface rubble, we saw... we saw a large number of pulsating ’eggs’ or ’cocoons’ buried underneath, varying in size, seemingly composed of flesh and unknown organic tissue! They... they seem to be alive! They’re still subtly expanding and contracting!”

”Meat Spheres?!”

Sato Ryuichi abruptly stood up. The strangeness of this news even temporarily overshadowed his concern about Gu-Nan’s squad’s demise.

Unknown biological tissue appearing in the explosion’s core zone? This was far from ordinary! Combined with the ’anomalous Contaminated Entities’ and ’language ability’ mentioned in Gu-Nan’s squad’s last communication... a terrifying conjecture flashed through his mind!

”Take me to see it immediately!”

Sato Ryuichi made a decisive decision.

The situation with Gu-Nan’s squad was unclear, and rashly investigating was too risky.

However, this new discovery was likely directly related to the nature of the explosion and the origin of those bizarre monsters!

He turned to the other team members and quickly ordered: ”Everyone! Highest alert level! Don highest-level protective suits! Carry heavy breach and incineration equipment!

Immediately follow me to the discovery site! Without my command, absolutely no approaching or even touching those ’Meat Spheres’! Understand?!”

”Hai!!” The team members responded in unison, and although their hearts were filled with tension and doubt, they quickly sprang into action.

Sato Ryuichi took one last, deep look in the direction where Gu-Nan’s squad’s signal had disappeared.

He had a strong premonition that these ’Meat Spheres’ suddenly appearing in the center of the explosion might be the key to unraveling this series of bizarre events and the immense threat!

He had to confirm it himself!
