I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

85: The Mother! Huizi! The massive and profane Mother Body indifferently ”watched” the direction in which the prey fled; deep within its hollow black eyes, a cold and greedy vortex seemed to be swirling.

It lowered its head slightly and muttered to the long-shriveled corpse in its arms, using a hoarse voice that was barely audible, sounding as if countless tiny voices were layered together:

”Eat... eat everything... everything that moves...”

”Bring back all the... flesh and blood... and souls...”

”This way... my children... will all be able to... return to my side...”

As it spoke, its pale and delicate face suddenly twisted!

Its jaw dropped open at an angle that completely defied human physiological structure, splitting into a black hole large enough to swallow an entire head, lined with dense, backward-facing teeth!

”Crunch... crunch... screech...”

It began to frantically gnaw on the corpse in its arms, which had long since lost most of its flesh!

Bones were easily crushed and chewed to pieces, while dried skin and residual tendons were torn off and quickly swallowed into that bottomless throat!

In just over ten seconds, the entire corpse was devoured, leaving only a few strands of torn cloth and some indigestible scraps sliding from between its fingers.

”Haa... haa...”

It still seemed unsatisfied; its massive abdomen writhed restlessly, emitting a dull, hungry hiss.

It raised its head, its hollow eyes sweeping over the various monsters serving it, and a sharp roar containing an absolute command erupted from its throat!

This roar was like an invisible directive, instantly spreading throughout the entire hatchery!

”Rustle, rustle... crunch... crunch...”

Suddenly, from the shadows of the surrounding ruins, from behind the not-yet-fully-ruptured Meat Spheres, and from the pools of viscous hatching fluid... swarms of even more bizarre, violently aura-exuding monsters crawled out!

Some were like oversized insects with bone blades, some retained a twisted humanoid shape but were covered in carapace, and others were completely indescribable monstrosities, stitched together haphazardly from various biological features!

Without exception, they prostrated themselves toward the Mother Body, emitting submissive, awestruck whines.

Absolute obedience to the Mother Body was an instinct etched into the deepest parts of their genes, impossible to defy!

The Mother Body’s massive frame leaned forward slightly. Its hollow gaze swept over this group of ”children,” and its hoarse voice sounded again, filled with an unquestionable appetite:

”Hungry... I am hungry... and the children are hungry too...”

”Go... go find... more... food...”

”Bring back... everything... living... that you can find!”

The group of monsters let out a restless hiss, as if excited by the impending hunt!

However, just at this moment—

A slightly larger humanoid monster, with faint dark gold patterns on its carapace and appearing to possess higher intelligence, slowly crawled out from the group.

It did not immediately follow the order like the other monsters; instead, it raised its head, ”looking” at the Mother Body with its strange face, a mix of compound eyes and mouthparts, and a hoarse, distorted voice that could faintly be distinguished as human language syllables emerged from its throat:

”Mo... Mother... within... several kilometers... huntable... living things... are... are nearly... exhausted...”

”The previous... hatching... and the previous... clearing... consumed... too much...”

Its voice was intermittent, but its logic was exceptionally clear, as if it still retained some fragments of its previous life’s cognition.

The Mother Body’s massive frame paused, its hollow eyes ”staring” at the monster that dared to ”report” instead of immediately executing the order. The other monsters around also emitted an uneasy commotion.

After a few seconds of suffocating silence, the strange curve on the Mother Body’s non-human face seemed to deepen.

It was not angry at being ”contradicted”; instead, it emitted a low and terrifying laugh, like the sound of countless insects rubbing their wings together.

”Haa... haa haa... then go... to even further places...”

Its voice became clearer and colder, filled with indifference and greed toward all life.

”Leave here... cross the ruins... go to those... crowded... nests...”

”There... are countless... fresh... flesh and blood...”

”No matter what it is... humans... animals... or even other ’children’...”

”As long as it is alive... and edible... bring it all... back!”

”Now... go!”

The final command turned into a sharp roar capable of piercing eardrums!

”Screech—!!!”

All the monsters, including the intelligent entity that had raised the question, completely succumbed at this moment to that absolute will and the drive of hunger!

They let out deafening roars filled with the desire to kill, and then, like a black tide breaching a dam.

They swarmed out, heading beyond the hatchery toward the more distant city ruins and human settlements where signs of life still remained!

A bloody, indiscriminate hunt against all life... had begun!

After issuing the hunting command, the Mother Body’s bloated, egg-laying abdomen writhed slightly, adjusting its posture.

As it moved, the scene hidden beneath its abdomen was revealed—two humanoid corpses, tightly embracing, long since burned by high heat into charred, twisted carbon.

The corpses were completely carbonized, making it impossible to distinguish their original gender or appearance; one could only tell from their curled-up posture that they seemed to have been trying to protect each other in their final moments.

When the Mother Body’s hollow gaze ”fell” on these two charred corpses, the ferocious, non-human expression on its face, filled with greed and hunger, suddenly softened.

It was a kind of extremely eerie, twisted, yet incredibly distinct... maternal expression.

It extended that pale and slender hand, stroking the surface of the charred corpses with extreme gentleness, almost tenderly, as carbonized fragments fell away with a rustle.

It carefully picked up the two charred corpses as if holding the most precious treasure in the world.

It clutched them tightly to its cold chest, whispering in a tone that was completely different from its massive, terrifying frame—one filled with a strange tenderness and paranoia:

”Rest assured... my dear children...”

”Kaa-san... will definitely make you... come back to life...”

”Soon... very soon you will be able to... return to Kaa-san’s embrace...”

Just at this moment—

”Tap... tap... tap...”

A light, skipping sound of footsteps came from the side.

The monster in the shape of a little girl, who had previously dug out Gu-Nan’s heart with her bare hands, dragged her tattered doll with the crooked eyes and came skipping over.

She tilted up her seemingly innocent little face, ”looking” at the Mother Body, and especially at the two charred corpses in its arms, with her bottomless, black-hole-like eyes, and then reached out her small hand, which was stained with Gu-Nan’s blood.

She tilted her head and said in a soft, sweet, and coaxing voice:

”Oh Kaa-san...”

”Heart... red... beating...”

”Give to Kaa-san... to eat...”

She seemed to be offering the ”trophy” she had previously obtained to her mother, or perhaps reminding her mother that to resurrect the two charred corpses, more fresh hearts were needed as ”nourishment.”

The Mother Body lowered its head and looked at the little girl, that trace of twisted maternal love enveloping her.

Before she became a monster, she had three children; the girl before her was one of them, and also the only one she had successfully resurrected after becoming a monster, named Huiko.

”Huiko... Kaa-san will eat...”

It reached out its other hand and stroked Huiko’s hair with extreme gentleness, even though it felt like withered straw.
