I Created a Containment Object at the Start, and Became a God

74: Hiroshima explodes! On the other side, on the Japanese Archipelago, Hiroshima City.

The sky seemed to be torn apart by an invisible giant hand. Two pitch-black ”suns,” emitting an ominous glow, appeared without warning above the city. They then rapidly expanded, collapsed, and finally exploded!

”Boom!!!!!!!!”

It wasn’t one sound, but two terrifying roars, almost overlapping, yet deeper and more muffled, as if coming from the bottom of an abyss!

Destructive energy, far greater, deeper, and more despairing than the ”Little Boy” of 1945, was instantly unleashed!

Two superimposed, dark-red energy spheres, with diameters far exceeding anything before, expanded wildly at an incomprehensible speed, devouring everything in their path!

Skyscrapers silently vaporized and disappeared like sandcastles! The earth was torn apart and melted, turning into a churning lake of lava!

The blinding light and extreme heat instantly stole the vision of all who looked directly, even carbonizing them!

The shockwave, like a tangible tsunami, pressed outwards, pulverizing more distant buildings into dust!

Black radioactive raindrops, thicker and more viscous than ever before, mixed with ash and death, poured down!

Countless Japanese civilians, who didn’t even have time to utter a sound, were instantly evaporated and vaporized in the intense light and high temperature at the explosion’s core, completely erased from the world!

Those slightly further away were torn to shreds by the ensuing shockwave or crushed into pulp by splashing lava and building debris!

Survivors on the outer perimeter were also not spared.

They were exposed to lethal high-dose radiation and corrosive black rain, their skin rapidly festering, and their internal organs silently failing.

They let out painful wails, slowly and despairingly succumbing to death in extreme agony! Their misery far surpassed any disaster recorded in history!

The entire city of Hiroshima, and even large surrounding areas, were transformed into a true hell on earth under the judgment of these twin ”suns.”

The cries of death and pain echoed through the sky, only to be quickly drowned out by larger explosions and the roar of collapsing structures... This destruction came so suddenly, so completely, as if divine punishment had descended, dragging the city and the lives within it into an bottomless abyss.

After Hiroshima suffered an unprecedented double strike, the entire city was virtually wiped off the map.

Soon, the remaining government agencies and rescue forces began to gather with difficulty in the disaster area.

Yamada Toshio, a disaster relief commander who had rushed from a neighboring prefecture, stood at the edge of the still-smoking ruins, looking through binoculars at the scorched city. His hands trembled uncontrollably as he said to his adjutant:

”This... this isn’t damage that can be caused by conventional bombing... Communications are completely cut off, roads are mostly destroyed, and our large equipment can’t get in... We can only rely on people, using the most primitive methods to dig...”

The rescue teams tried to begin work, but they soon realized they were facing a completely disintegrated land.

Rescue worker Kobayashi Kouichi stumbled as he tried to help a middle-aged man leaning against a broken wall, only to find that the skin on the man’s shoulder easily peeled off at his touch, leaving horrifying marks.

The man stared blankly at the sky, muttering, ”Water... give me water...”

When Kobayashi carefully brought a water bottle to his cracked lips, the man suddenly began to vomit violently, expelling almost black mucus, and then completely lost consciousness.

In the makeshift medical station, set up with tarpaulins, the situation was equally desperate.

A young nurse looked at the ground full of burn victims with festering, foul-smelling skin. She fruitlessly tried to bandage an old woman’s constantly weeping wound, almost in tears as she said to the doctor beside her:

”Doctor... the povidone-iodine and gauze are almost gone... painkillers ran out long ago... how are we supposed to help them? Many people are starting to get nosebleeds for no reason, and they won’t stop...”

Higher-ranking officials, meanwhile, held emergency meetings in a safer area further away, debating how to explain the disaster to the public and how to coordinate truly effective relief.

A cabinet official barked anxiously into the phone.

”Order must be prioritized! People aren’t important, prevent panic from spreading! But rescue teams and medical supplies... will take time to allocate!”

The top priority now is to ascertain how many people are still alive, and... what weapon caused this, was it the Eagle Head Nation, or the Dragon Nation, the Bear Nation!”

Yamada Toshio listened to the dial tone from the other end of the phone, stiffly put down the receiver, fine cold sweat seeping from his forehead. He instinctively stood at attention, repeatedly responding to the disconnected phone, ”Hai! Hai! Your subordinate understands! I will definitely comply!”

The other officials in the meeting room immediately crowded around him, their faces filled with anxiety and fear, chattering noisily:

”Chief Yamada! Are we still staying here? The radiation levels here must be off the charts!”

”People who retreated from the front line say it’s not just ordinary nuclear radiation, but also unknown contamination that can’t be detected at all!”

”Rescue efforts can’t even begin, and the teams that went in are showing adverse reactions! Shouldn’t we immediately transfer to a safer command post in the rear?”

Yamada Toshio slammed his fist on the table with a loud thud, temporarily silencing the commotion.

His face was ashen, and his gaze swept over the colleagues before him who only wanted to save themselves. He sternly said, ”What’s the panic about!

If we move now, do you want the public to think we’ve completely abandoned them?! Don’t you want your positions anymore? We must make a show!”

He quickly turned to his secretary behind him, issuing a rapid series of instructions:

”Immediately notify the communications department to cut off all external civilian network and mobile communication signals in the Hiroshima disaster area, using the excuse that signal base stations are damaged and repairs will take time!

Especially in the most severely affected core areas, they absolutely must not be allowed to post the true situation inside, especially those... those images of casualties that defy logic, online!”

”Strengthen control over all roads leading in and out of the disaster area, strictly prohibiting any unauthorized journalists, especially foreign media, from entering!

All news reports must use the unified press releases and vetted footage provided by our officials!”

”The external narrative will be unified: Hiroshima City suffered a major fire and secondary disasters caused by a rare series of multiple natural gas pipeline explosions, and rescue efforts are underway with full force.

Any speculative reports regarding the abnormal energy characteristics and destructive patterns are absolutely forbidden!”

The secretary nervously took notes, unable to resist asking in a low voice, ”Chief... what about the casualty figures and... the actual situation of that ’unknown radiation’...?”

A shadow flashed in Yamada Toshio’s eyes. He lowered his voice, ”The numbers... will be vaguely handled for now. As for that undetectable radiation... it will be classified as top secret. All sampling data and medical records will be directly sealed and reported, strictly forbidden from leaking! Go quickly!”

The officials in the meeting room exchanged glances. They understood that this was not for effective rescue, but to suppress the truth, as those above feared being affected by it...
