Online Games: Billions Spent on In-app Purchases, Archery Becomes a God

Player forums are buzzing with discussion! The ultimate deluxe return gift pack!“My sister up there, hug you! Let me feed you a peach! Are you feeling a little better?”

“I know the monster you encountered; its name is Thorn Calamity Ghost. Just by its name, you know it’s not good. It’s purely released to disgust players.”

“I’ve already teamed up with a bunch of injured sisters to report the game company. We’re reporting them for targeting players.”

“Do you want to join?”

...Ye Xingyu swiped his hand.

A quick glance revealed more and more complaint posts:

“Urgent, urgent, urgent! Extremely urgent! I am King Gigi! Online, I’m begging for a game guide on how to escape the pursuit of a stage two Thorn Calamity Ghost!”

“I am willing to pay 10,000 gold coins as a reward to any player who provides an effective method!”

“Currently being fiercely chased by a stage two Thorn Calamity Ghost and fleeing. There isn’t much time left for my brothers to get rich.”

“Please contact ID ‘King Gigi’ quickly! Serious inquiries only! Brothers, this is truly urgent!”

...“I say, for this kind of monster to appear in the dungeon is absolutely outrageous! 20,000+ HP, 1,000+ defense, 1,400+ magic defense, 250 movement speed, and it even reflects 100% of all damage taken! Attacking it hurts even faster than attacking yourself directly!”

“I forgot the rest, but ah ah ah ah ah ah ah!!!!!!!”

...“Isn’t this deliberately trying to prevent players from living?”

“Who can defeat this kind of monster?”

“Are there any experts in the comments section to refute my words?”

...“Only after browsing the forum did I realize that I wasn’t the only one who died. I was wondering why I, so wise and mighty, couldn’t defeat this monster. So everyone is the same?”

...“How do you evaluate the appearance of a trash monster like Thorn Calamity Ghost on Deep Space Game’s second day of launch? Is the game company trying to indirectly discourage players through this method?”

...“The one above, no game company would try to discourage players on its second day of launch, right?”

...“The one upstairs, then how do you evaluate the appearance of a trash monster like Thorn Calamity Ghost? What benefits does it offer the majority of players?”

...“Replying to the one upstairs, my view on Thorn Calamity Ghost is ‘look at it one more time and it explodes, get a little closer and you melt.’ I declare I am not a shill cultivated by those dog game planners. I hate Thorn Calamity Ghost just as much as you all.”

...“Alas! This is the first time I’ve felt so powerless in twenty years of gaming.”

“I originally thought I had finally found a favorite online game with my favorite gameplay. But I was deeply wounded by the trash monster Thorn Calamity Ghost.”

“I feel like I won’t ever love again; I don’t have that feeling anymore, you know?”

...“Strongly recommend deleting Thorn Calamity Ghost! Grant players another chance to participate in the event and an additional gold-grade weapon selection chest as compensation!”

“Brothers, give me a thumbs up to send me to the top! Let the executives of the game company see this! Listen to the heartfelt voices of us players!”

...“Eliminate the trash monster Thorn Calamity Ghost! Restore a clear and bright sky to deep space! It is our generation’s bounden duty! Brothers, please petition with me! The more people who petition, the faster the trash monster Thorn Calamity Ghost will be deleted!”

...Countless players who had been harmed or died by Thorn Calamity Ghost.

All cursed on the forum.

At the same time, they discussed solutions.

It seems this first appearance of the pursuit monsters.

As expected, left a very deep impression on players.

Ye Xingyu felt as if he was transported back more than seven years ago, to the night he first encountered pursuit monsters.

Similarly, countless players cursed.

This scene before him.

Was merely a re-enactment of the past.

Moreover, Ye Xingyu knew.

The Teng Yi Mi Group that managed deep space.

All shareholders, bosses, and technical talents... were all brainwashed and controlled by the Galactic Alliance hiding behind the scenes.

Players’ demands would not be resolved at all.

Pursuit monsters would also continue to exist in the event dungeons.

Players now could only be forced to accept it.

Unless you completely stopped playing the game.

After browsing the posts for a while.

Ye Xingyu gradually lost interest.

After turning over and pulling up the covers.

He fell into a deep sleep... 6 hours later.

There was a movement under the covers.

Ye Xingyu opened his eyes again.

His pupils gleamed with renewed vigor.

He had completely recovered 100% of his spirit and condition.

“Deep Space, activate again!”

Ye Xingyu quickly returned to the game.

“Ding! Esteemed supreme svip level 15 player Falling Nine Heavens, it has been detected that you have been offline for more than 6 hours. The system has determined you are a returning player. You are now being issued a supreme svip level 15 Returning Grand Gift Pack! Please check your inbox!”

He had just logged into the game.

A prompt immediately sounded in his ear.

At the same time.

A huge treasure chest, flashing with various colored lights and very ornate in appearance.

Appeared in Ye Xingyu’s field of vision.

Supreme SVIP Returning Grand Gift Pack!

To open the gift pack, you can spend 188 / 888 / 3888 / 8888 / 88888 gold coins. Please choose?

“Huh? I only left for 6 hours, and the system is already arranging a returning gift pack for me?”

Ye Xingyu was slightly surprised.

However, it was a good thing to have gift packs to buy.

Players with lower VIP levels might not even have so many gift packs to buy.

Being able to purchase gift packs was also a privilege.

Moreover.

Ye Xingyu didn’t care about this amount of money.

According to his temperament.

He directly waved his hand and chose the highest tier, 88,888 gold coins!

Which was the most expensive gift pack!

“Ding! Opening the 88,888 Supreme Deluxe Gift Pack! Congratulations on obtaining Piercing Arrow × 1000! Additionally, you are gifted a Piercing Arrow crafting recipe!”

The sudden reward.

Almost made Ye Xingyu jump!

“What the heck! Piercing Arrow crafting recipe!? Doesn’t that mean I can craft Piercing Arrow an unlimited number of times by myself from now on?”

“The system is so generous!?”

“Buying a gift pack directly gives a Piercing Arrow crafting recipe?”

“It seems they are very afraid of big spenders like me quitting the game!”

This old gift pack distribution formula.

Ye Xingyu could instantly deduce.

It certainly wasn’t formulated by the current Galactic Alliance.

It must have been set up by the developers of the former Teng Yi Mi Group in the earliest program code.

To improve their own performance.

If it were the current Galactic Alliance.

They would absolutely not leave such a good way for Blue Star people to improve their own strength.

This time, Ye Xingyu had really struck it rich!

Successfully triggered the hidden reward mechanism of Deep Space Game!

Not only did he obtain 1000 Piercing Arrows.

He also unexpectedly received a Piercing Arrow crafting recipe!

He could now craft Piercing Arrows without limit.

“That’s insane!”

He quickly checked the attributes of the Piercing Arrow!

【Piercing Arrow】:

Quality: gold-grade

Level Requirement: 15

Physical Attack: 100 ~ 102

Additional Effect:

Ignores 30% of target’s physical defense upon hit.

Durability: 20

“Whoa—!”

After clearly seeing the attributes of the Piercing Arrow.

Ye Xingyu couldn’t help but gasp.
