NPC Ma De’s quest”Damn it! How dare you spit on me?”

The two players were furious.

They pointed at Ma De’s nose and started cursing him out... Other nearby players rarely saw an NPC and players cursing at each other.

They all ran over to join the fun:

”Holy crap, an NPC and players are fighting! ⊙▽⊙”

”Exciting! Thrilling!”

”Don’t fight anymore~”

...”Fight! Fight! I want to see blood flow like a river!”

...Ye Xingyu glanced over as he passed by.

Seeing Ma De’s attire, he suddenly remembered:

”So it’s this NPC. I remember he has a very special piece of equipment. It’s one of the most valuable pieces of equipment in the entire Novice Village.”

”If it’s this quest, it’s worth doing.”

With Ye Xingyu’s discerning eye,

ordinary quest rewards naturally couldn’t attract him.

However, NPC Ma De just happened to have a very special piece of equipment for an Archer.

This piqued Ye Xingyu’s interest.

After recalling the main steps of this quest,

he smiled slightly.

He walked away briskly... Not long after,

Ye Xingyu returned to the Dense Wood Forest.

The Reinforced Savages were as high as level 6/7/8.

For him at this time,

the experience was still quite good.

Most importantly,

to trigger NPC Ma De’s quest,

there was a very crucial trigger item.

It had to drop from either a Forest Savage or a Reinforced Savage.

Therefore, Ye Xingyu entered the center of the forest for a second time.

He targeted the Reinforced Savages and began another round of slaughter.

”Whoosh!”

-426 (Weakness Critical Hit!)

...After equipping the ’Iron Bow’ and ’beast bone arrow’, Ye Xingyu’s

damage per arrow to the Reinforced Savages greatly increased.

Previously, it took 4-5 arrows to eliminate a Reinforced Savage.

Now, it was consistently within 3 arrows.

Coupled with the two Archer skills he had recently learned,

his monster farming efficiency significantly improved... ”Ding! Congratulations on leveling up! Your current level is 8. All basic attributes +2, and you gain 6 free attribute points!”

It wasn’t until several hours later

that Ye Xingyu had grinded his way to level 8.

This was after his level had increased,

and the experience he gained from Reinforced Savages had significantly decreased.

Otherwise, he could have reached an even higher level.

Ye Xingyu picked up a beast hide garment that a Reinforced Savage had just dropped on the ground.

A hint of excitement flashed in his eyes.

”It finally dropped for me! Damn it! Reinforced Savage’s beast hide garment.”

He almost thought this piece of equipment wouldn’t drop.

It cost him several hours.

During this time,

Ye Xingyu had cleared hundreds of Savages.

Now,

it was finally over.

Beast Hide Garment

Quality: Whiteboard

Level Requirement: Level 5

Attributes: HP +200

Physical Defense +10

Magic Defense +10

”Hint: You can spend 1000 gold coins to upgrade the Beast Hide Garment’s quality to Black Iron.”

Ye Xingyu decisively reached out and wiped it.

”Swish!”

The originally crude Beast Hide Garment instantly became clean, tidy, and complete.

Brand new!

Exquisite Beast Hide Garment

Quality: Black Iron

Level Requirement: Level 7

Attributes: HP +400

Physical Defense +20

Magic Defense +20

If he remembered correctly,

only this piece of equipment

could prompt NPC Ma De to give him a quest,

and then obtain the valuable equipment in Ma De’s hand.

Now,

he had finally obtained this very crucial Beast Hide Garment.

Ye Xingyu decisively put on the ”Exquisite Beast Hide Garment”.

Then, he rushed to Novice Village without stopping... When entering and exiting the Dense Wood Forest,

he noticed that more and more other players were now entering the forest to grind monsters.

The players’ levels had generally risen above level 5.

However, the higher the level,

the harder it was to improve.

Ye Xingyu had not yet found any players in Novice Village 00086

whose level was close to his.

Not even one person... Not long after,

Ye Xingyu returned to Novice Village.

Without a word, he headed straight for NPC Ma De’s house.

He deliberately walked past Ma De’s door,

and even slowed his pace.

A few seconds later,

as Ye Xingyu expected,

as he walked straight ahead,

a slightly anxious voice suddenly sounded from behind:

”Wait a moment! Adventurer!”

”Excuse me, is that... the kind of clothes that only the Savages in the forest usually wear?”

Ye Xingyu suppressed a smile.

He turned to look at Ma De behind him.

Ma De had just rushed out of his house in a hurry.

There were several fresh tea stains remaining on his clothes.

This fully exposed his inner turmoil.

Ye Xingyu nodded gently at Ma De: ”Yes.”

”Then that means you went hunting for Savages in the forest not long ago?” Ma De’s tone gradually became anxious.

”That’s right.” Ye Xingyu nodded again.

Ma De said uneasily: ”Adventurer, please tell me honestly.”

”When you were hunting in the forest, did you see a boy about your age?”

”With yellow skin, black eyes, and slightly long hair?”

”Did you see such a person?”

Ye Xingyu lowered his head and thought for two seconds, then pretended to recall:

”I haven’t seen anyone like that.”

”The Savages I encountered in the forest were all tall and sturdy, covered in thick fur, all dark, and I couldn’t even see their faces.”

”I’ve never met a yellow-skinned human.”

After hearing Ye Xingyu’s words,

Ma De couldn’t help but let out a long sigh of relief: ”That’s good, that’s good...”

Ye Xingyu proactively asked: ”Uncle, is there something wrong? Why don’t you tell me?”

Ma De’s eyes changed.

”Come with me!”

He suddenly pulled Ye Xingyu into his house.

He closed the door tightly and said to him:

”To be honest, Adventurer, I have my difficulties.”

”The boy I just asked you about is actually my son!”

When mentioning his son,

Ma De showed an expression of extreme pain.

He recounted: ”My child made some mistakes and was banished from the village by the strict Village Chief. He was exiled to the wilderness to live with a bunch of beasts and Savages!”

”And he can never return to the village!”

”I...”

”!!!!”

Ma De said up to this point, unable to help but beat his chest and stomp his feet in a fit of rage.

Ye Xingyu watched him perform quietly.

Then,

Ma De finally spoke his true purpose:

”Adventurer, I am a failed father. I can’t even protect my own child.”

”I’m telling you about these tragic experiences because I want him to survive.”

”He must be having a very difficult time surviving now.”

”The Village Chief warned me not to go out and look for him.”

”Therefore, could I ask you to help me deliver some food and clothes for my child to survive?”
