Thorn Demon Phase 2! The Secret of the Shrinking CircleNot long after parting ways with Robin,

Ye Xingyu was on his way to find the next leveling spot and boss.

Suddenly, a cacophony of strange cries came from behind him:

”Jie jie jie jie jie jie! ! !”

...The sound was ear-piercing and incessant.

A large group of black shadows emerged from behind.

Their bodies were covered in strange thorns and spikes.

[Thorn Calamity Ghost!]

Level: 50

Monster Type: Enhanced

HP: 21000

Attack: 2060 ~ 2080

Physical Defense: 1040 ~ 1140

Magic Defense: 1422 ~ 1444

Movement Speed: 250 (Stage Two)

Skills:

Thorn Shell:

Reflects 100% of all damage taken as magic damage!

...”Oh no! It’s Thorn Calamity Ghosts again!”

”And now they’ve evolved to Stage Two! Their movement speed has increased by 50 compared to Stage One!”

”The Stage Two Thorn Calamity Ghosts’ movement speed already surpasses most players who don’t add agility points, making them even harder to deal with!”

It should be noted that among typical warrior, knight, mage, and priest players...

Most people would not allocate free attribute points to agility.

These professions usually have more important attributes to stack.

Therefore, free attribute points cannot be given to agility.

A panel movement speed of 50 is equivalent to 250 agility.

And for players of these professions,

relying solely on agility gained automatically from leveling up, and agility points from equipment,

it’s generally impossible to exceed 250.

This leads to the vast majority of warrior, knight, mage, and priest players

having slower movement speed than Stage Two Thorn Calamity Ghosts.

What will likely happen next

doesn’t need much explanation, does it?

Ye Xingyu’s heart tightened, and his feet involuntarily sped up.

Having multiple dungeon experiences,

his memories of pursuit monsters

were almost entirely about doing everything he could to evade their chase!

This is not an exaggeration at all!

In dungeons,

pursuit monsters are almost invincible!

100% reflection of all types of damage,

plus their numbers, often in the hundreds or thousands.

Who could possibly withstand that?

So, when facing pursuit monsters, there is almost only one option: escape.

There are basically no reckless players or teams

who would try to go head-to-head with pursuit monsters.

It’s a pure act of seeking death.

”Gale Technique!”

”Limit Frenzy!”

”Swish!”

Ye Xingyu quickly applied two buffs to himself!

Base movement speed +20%!

Base movement speed +30%!

Because Ye Xingyu greatly increased his agility,

his current base movement speed + movement speed from equipment and shoes

had already reached a terrifying 272!

After adding two speed buffs,

his maximum movement speed shot straight to 400!

Far exceeding the pursuit monsters behind him.

Therefore, for him,

avoiding the Stage Two pursuit monsters was not difficult at all.

He even had plenty of leeway.

Moreover, with the experience accumulated from his previous life,

Ye Xingyu was very familiar with the characteristics of pursuit monsters.

They are roughly equivalent to a forced zone-shrinking mechanism in dungeons.

After a certain period (7-24 hours),

players in the outer areas of the dungeon map

would first encounter pursuit monsters!

The pursuit monsters would follow behind the players,

driving them towards the central area of the map!

Eliminating all disobedient players.

Players only had a chance to continuously evade the pursuit monsters’ attacks

by constantly moving towards the central area.

In other words,

if players were slow in their progress within the dungeon map,

that was the fundamental reason why pursuit monsters would appear!

During each cycle of pursuit monster appearance,

as long as players ran within a certain range,

the pursuit monsters would silently disappear.

No longer herding them like pigs,

constantly following behind the players.

Therefore,

knowing these characteristics of pursuit monsters,

Ye Xingyu and the pursuit monsters behind him

kept rushing forward in the same direction without stopping!

Not pausing for a moment.

Never think about dodging to the left, right, or any other direction.

Because as long as you are outside the shrinking zone,

no matter which direction you escape to,

you will likely encounter another batch of pursuit monsters.

Endlessly.

The best way for players is to listen to the system.

Follow the map mechanism.

Run towards the central area of the map.

Generally speaking,

the closer you get to the center of the map,

the better the quality of monsters, bosses, and treasure chests you will encounter!

So never think about going against the system.

It won’t bring any benefit.

Under this strategy, Ye Xingyu

sprinted forward for five minutes.

Sure enough,

looking back,

the original large group of pursuit monsters had all disappeared without a trace

after losing sight of Ye Xingyu.

The terrifying strange ”Jie jie jie” sounds no longer came from behind him.

This indicated that Ye Xingyu had successfully entered the second cycle of the shrinking zone.

The pursuit monsters would temporarily not bother him

but would instead harass other players.

Ye Xingyu let out a sigh of relief.

At this moment, he indeed had no temper with the pursuit monsters.

He had to listen to the system.

However, other players were in for a rough time.

For all of them,

this was their first dungeon experience

and their first encounter with pursuit monsters.

Many people would certainly not understand the system mechanics

and would be severely punished by the pursuit monsters!

No choice.

This was the inevitable path for all deep space players.

Ye Xingyu smiled slightly.

He checked the system time.

So many things had happened today.

Unknowingly, 14 hours had passed again.

He felt a slight fatigue mentally.

Moreover, after just finishing one shrinking zone,

there was still a long time until the next shrinking zone cycle (7-24 hours).

Now was the best time to rest.

Thinking of this,

Ye Xingyu found a safe place

and logged off directly.

He would return when his energy was 100% restored!

Anyway, there were still over 30 hours until the dungeon closed.

He wasn’t short on this resting time.

Ye Xingyu’s vision went dark.

He quickly left the game... After returning to reality,

he first cooked himself a bowl of golden broth fatty beef noodles.

”Slurp!”

The fatty beef tasted so good! So fragrant!

While cooking the noodles, Ye Xingyu also added a dozen slices of greens and a poached egg to the pot.

It tasted incredibly satisfying!

Much better than unsanitary takeout!

”Slurp slurp slurp slurp!”

...After a bowl of hot noodles,

Ye Xingyu felt much warmer all over.

His energy and mood instantly recovered to 90% of their full state!

Is this the power of food? Hehehe~

After eating his fill,

he had some free time.

With nothing much to do, Ye Xingyu opened the game forum.

He planned to browse a few news articles and then go to sleep.

Who knew,

the forum was now full of players who had participated in the event

posting numerous complaining threads filled with grievances!

”Family! Who understands? I met some repulsive monsters! They were pitch black all over, so ugly!”

”Being ugly is one thing, but they just had to come out and scare people, and chase after them.”

”They chased for tens of minutes, unwilling to let go for a moment.”

”Am I really that beautiful? Even my parents haven’t loved me this much, always unwilling to let go.”

”It’s too repulsive, family, I was ganged up on by a group of pitch-black monsters. Whoever loves playing this damn event can play it, I’m out.”

”It’s too repulsive! Please comfort me, family~ Wuwuwu~ I’m crying first, I’ve never encountered such repulsive monsters (╥_╥)”
