Online Games: Billions Spent on In-app Purchases, Archery Becomes a God

The ultimate side quest hidden deep within the starting village! The name ”Ma Mei” appeared above the NPC’s head.

After Ma Mei was injured and fell, she immediately struggled to her feet.

She continued to punch Ye Xingyu heavily!

Looking at Ma Mei’s frail little body, Ye Xingyu thought to himself:

”I can’t beat you?”

He kicked Ma Mei, sending her flying!

She stumbled back four or five steps, directly hitting the wall on the other side.

”Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh!!!”

A series of incomprehensible loud roars came from Ma Mei’s throat.

The look in her eyes, as she stared at Ye Xingyu, was filled with immense hatred and animosity towards humans.

Seeing Ma Mei struggle to get up and charge at Ye Xingyu again, Ye Xingyu’s gaze turned cold.

He aimed an arrow at Ma Mei’s right knee!

”Whoosh!”

Ma Mei screamed and rolled on the ground, clutching her knee and crying out in pain for a while.

After two more seconds, Ma Mei suddenly knelt on the ground.

She repeatedly kowtowed to Ye Xingyu, thud, thud...

She kept shaking her head frantically while kowtowing.

The depths of her eyes, as she looked at Ye Xingyu, were filled with immense awe and fear, signaling her submission.

”Good fellow, a typical case of fearing power but not virtue, huh?”

Ye Xingyu finally subdued Ma Mei.

He then threw a large package towards Ma Mei.

At the same time, he said, ”Take this. This is something your father sent you. Then write him a letter, and I’ll take it back for you.”

Ma Mei immediately understood Ye Xingyu’s words.

She obediently took the package.

She found food and ravenously bit into it several times, seemingly having been extremely hungry for a long time.

When she discovered a sharp knife hidden inside the package, Ma Mei secretly hid it under her clothes.

She also secretly glanced at Ye Xingyu’s expression several times.

Ye Xingyu pretended not to notice her small movements.

Ma Mei then bit her index finger, and directly on the large cloth that was originally used to wrap things—

She began to write a shocking blood letter!

As she wrote, the expression on her face grew subtly fierce!

Because her handwriting was not only unfamiliar but also very ugly, Ye Xingyu didn’t know what was written in the blood letter.

However, he didn’t care at all.

He stood by, arms crossed, waiting.

Soon after, Ma Mei stammered as she handed the blood letter to Ye Xingyu.

Ye Xingyu didn’t even glance at it and quickly put it into his backpack.

He immediately returned to Novice Village... Soon.

Ye Xingyu arrived at Ma De’s house.

He handed the blood letter to Ma De.

At the same time, he said to him, ”Ma De, this is your son’s letter; I’ve brought it back for you!”

”Also, he received your package. The mission is successfully completed.”

When Ma De saw the blood letter, his expression became extremely shocked.

He hastily took it from Ye Xingyu’s hand.

Then he sat alone at his desk.

He unfolded the blood letter and began to examine it word by word, his expression unusually serious.

Ye Xingyu hadn’t yet received his reward, so he could only stand by and watch.

After only about twenty seconds, Ma De suddenly turned his gaze to Ye Xingyu.

He asked casually, ”Adventurer, did you beat Ma Mei when you found her?”

It seems Ma Mei holds a grudge!

He even wrote about such a thing in the blood letter!

Ye Xingyu explained:

”That’s right. When I first met him, he was very hostile towards me and picked up a weapon, intending to kill me.”

”So I had no choice but to teach him a lesson. After that, we had a friendly conversation for a while, and I successfully completed your mission.”

Ma De didn’t say much after listening.

He then continued reading the rest of the letter... Soon after.

Ma De finished reading the entire blood letter.

His expression became unpredictable.

The room fell silent for a long time.

Ye Xingyu saw that he didn’t mention the reward at all.

He couldn’t help but frown and say, ”Ma De, I’ve completed the mission you gave me. Shouldn’t you give me the reward now?”

Ma De then turned his gaze to Ye Xingyu.

He whispered to him, ”Young man, given the tragic situation our family has endured, don’t you think the Village Chief’s actions are extremely excessive?”

Ye Xingyu thought to himself, ’What the hell does that have to do with me?’

At this moment, Ma De said with a resentful tone:

”The Village Chief treats our family so unfairly!”

”Adventurer! I’m about to give you a mission. If you can accept it, I will immediately give you the previous reward.”

”And after it’s done, I will give you an even higher, substantial reward!”

”Will you agree to me?”

Ma De tried to win over Ye Xingyu.

Ye Xingyu saw the hatred in his heart.

He retorted, ”What mission do you want to give me?”

”Ding!”

”Player Falling Nine Heavens! You have triggered a rare hidden side quest — Novice Village Power Struggle!”

”Selectable Route 1: Assist NPC Ma De in eliminating the Novice Village Chief! You will receive a high reward from Ma De.”

”Selectable Route 2: Reject Ma De’s request! If you reject, Ma De’s hatred towards the player will rise to the highest level, and the relationship between you and the player will become hostile. Please note!”

A crucial system prompt rang in Ye Xingyu’s ears at this moment, reminding him that his choice would directly affect the progress of subsequent missions!

”Damn it! It’s finally here! This cursed rare hidden side quest.”

Ye Xingyu thought to himself.

Ma De’s quest was one of the deepest hidden ultimate quests in Novice Village!

The quest content required killing the current Novice Village Chief and a group of his accomplices, as mentioned by Ma De.

The quest difficulty was the highest in Novice Village.

At the same time, the rewards were also very generous!

Now, it was time for Ye Xingyu to make a decision!

Ma De stared at him intently, his pupils flickering unpredictably.

If Ye Xingyu didn’t agree to him, Ma De wouldn’t even give him the reward for the previous completed quest.

Once Ye Xingyu refused, he didn’t even know if Ma De would immediately kill him to silence him!

This point was not elaborated on even in the guides from his previous life.

Ye Xingyu paced around twice.

Only then did he reluctantly agree, ”Alright, I agree to help you get rid of the Village Chief. But you have to give me the previous reward first, as promised!”

”Hahahahaha...”

”Good lad! I knew you had the guts! I admire you!”

Ma De couldn’t help but burst into laughter when he heard that Ye Xingyu was willing to accept his mission!

Then, without hesitation, he pulled out a bronze ring from a hidden corner.

Ma De handed the ring to Ye Xingyu and kindly said to him, ”Falling Nine Heavens, this is a bronze-grade ring that has been passed down in my family.”

”Since we are on the same side now, I’ll give it to you!”

”Ding! You have obtained Ma De’s family heirloom ring — bronze Jade!”

Ye Xingyu successfully got what he wanted!

Ma De tried to pull him over to formally discuss the process of eliminating the Novice Village Chief with Ye Xingyu.

Who knew, much to Ma De’s surprise, Ye Xingyu turned around.

He walked out of Ma De’s house door step by step.

At the same time, he coldly laid out his cards to Ma De, saying, ”Ma De, I’ll be honest with you. I won’t help you kill the Village Chief.”

”What do your grievances with the Village Chief have to do with me?”

”Ah! What? You just agreed to my terms!”

Ma De was furious on the spot when he heard Ye Xingyu’s words!

He followed closely, not missing a step.

He questioned Ye Xingyu face-to-face, ”Falling Nine Heavens! Are you trying to trick me?”

The name above Ma De’s head instantly changed from the usual green (representing friendly) to yellow (representing neutral).

But Ye Xingyu would not change his attitude.

He said reasonably, ”Ma De, it’s not that I’m deliberately trying to trick you. It’s that you reneged first, trying to deny me the reward I deserved.”

”Before you question me, clarify the order of events first?”
