The World's Richest Man: Start with the Daily Intelligence System

148: Chapter 148 The Drone is MissingMost of City Name was already deep in slumber late at night, but there were those who couldn’t sleep a wink.

Tang Zhiyuan and Tang Xijun were among them.

”Can you stop pacing around? You’re making me dizzy,” Tang Xijun grumbled as she watched the constantly moving Tang Zhiyuan.

”Since we’ve already done it, what’s there to be afraid of?” Unlike the anxious Tang Zhiyuan, Tang Xijun appeared incredibly calm. At her core, she was a cold-blooded egoist.

When she saw her younger brother’s good grades as a child, she didn’t show jealousy; instead, she thought about taking care of him to benefit from him later. Once she realized her brother wasn’t doing well at Tang Sheng Culture, she unhesitatingly framed him to squeeze out every last bit of use.

Now, she still firmly believed she would be the winner. After all, being forced into retirement at such a young age was absolutely unacceptable to her.

”It’s so late. Why is there no news at all? Maybe we should just run. There’s still time to fly abroad,” Tang Zhiyuan said, clutching his hair tightly with both hands, nearly driven mad by the invisible pressure.

Just then, footsteps came from outside the apartment door. Both fell silent instantly, the quiet so profound they could hear their own heartbeats. As the footsteps drew closer, the air seemed to freeze.

Then, the lock turned, and the door opened.

Revealing Tang Liansheng’s aged face.

Tang Zhiyuan and Tang Xijun felt as if their souls had been snatched away. They collapsed directly to their knees, knowing it was all over.

”Weren’t you going to kill me? Now that I’ve delivered myself to your doorstep, why don’t you make your move?” Tang Liansheng’s voice was as calm as a still well, but his hands behind his back were trembling uncontrollably.

He had raised these two since they were children, yet now they wanted to send him to his grave. Could all his past teachings have been wrong?

”Dad! I was wrong! It was all this woman’s idea; I was momentarily blinded by greed. Please forgive me!” Tang Zhiyuan wailed, crawling over to hug the old man’s legs, only to be kicked away by Tang Liansheng.

Tang Xijun slumped on the floor without any intention of begging. Instead, she began to giggle.

”My dear big brother, can’t you act a bit more like a man? A loss is a loss. At worst, we’ll just go down early to show our filial piety to Mother. After all, the three of us are family.”

The rage in Tang Liansheng’s heart could no longer be suppressed. He roared, ”You two animals have the nerve to speak! Even if I’m not your biological father, how have I treated you all these years? Now that you’ve tried to take my life, you still have the audacity to run your mouths!”

Tang Xijun gave a cold sneer. ”Whether we’re biological or not isn’t up to us. Mother is gone, and dead men tell no tales. It doesn’t matter if you want to push all the blame onto us.”

”Sister, stop talking. This is just fate,” Tang Zhiyuan wept bitterly on the side.

The old man froze, then let out a long sigh. His wife had been dead for many years; it was a traffic accident, and by the time he arrived, she had already passed away. The rights and wrongs of those years had become a mystery. Perhaps it was a lack of maternal love, or perhaps his own excessive strictness that had created these two animals.

”The police are downstairs. Go down and turn yourselves in.” The old man seemed to age ten years in an instant. He sighed again, ”Take care of yourselves in there from now on.” Then, supported by his bodyguards, he departed.

Downstairs, Zhang Wei was standing with Zuo Hemei. He had to come; Tang Yi and Uncle Fu had to stay at Sheshan Villa, otherwise, the arsonists wouldn’t act if they didn’t see him. Besides, in case the old man did something rash, someone had to be there to talk him down.

”I’ve said all I need to say. I’ll leave the rest to the police,” Tang Liansheng sighed and patted Zhang Wei on the shoulder.

”Consider this a favor the Tang family owes you. I hate owing favors most of all. Regarding the ocean salvage matter we discussed last time, let’s go with the profit split you suggested. I’ll have a word with the authorities later.”

Zhang Wei was overjoyed. Without the approval of the higher-ups, he couldn’t possibly handle the ocean salvage business on his own.

”Don’t worry, this is definitely a guaranteed profitable business.”

Tonight in City Name was destined not to be an ordinary night.

Just as happy as Zhang Wei were those two Curry Brothers. At this moment, they were in the logistics park, having a video call with a big boss far away in the Middle East.

”Muslim brother from afar, this is the warehouse where the drones are stored. As you can see, the building here is very luxurious, even more beautiful than many mansions in our Delhi,” one of the brothers said, pointing at the ordinary small building as if he had never seen the world.

”Good, let’s go see the goods,” the hooded man in the video said in broken English.

”Of course. Now we’re downstairs. The security here is very strict; you can see I have to enter a code for the doors to open. Okay, we’re now on the second floor.” The brother followed the corridor to Room 206.

”The security here uses bank-vault level management. Now I need to enter a second password to enter the warehouse. It’s very safe here; the rental fee you paid is definitely worth every penny.”

The brother was talking nonsense, making a common mini-storage unit in China sound like something extraordinary. After all, the other party had paid tens of thousands in rental fees. Having pocketed a significant commission, he naturally couldn’t let the buyer feel cheated.

The Middle Eastern man had grown up in ruins and had never seen a bank vault; he nodded in satisfaction at the combination lock on the screen.

Their organization had spent a fortune on these drones; it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say they had emptied their coffers. Once they successfully transported them back home, they could use these drones to launch an unprecedented attack. By then, they would reap significant benefits from the countries supporting them.

After entering the password, the brother pushed open the door. What met his eyes was a completely empty warehouse, with only a few scraps of waste paper scattered on the floor.

The brother rubbed his eyes and flipped the switch on the wall. Instantly, the warehouse was brightly lit.

”So, where are my drones?” The Middle Eastern man was stunned for a moment, his tone turning hostile.

”Wait, maybe I got the room wrong.” The two brothers looked at each other. One of them, refusing to believe it, ran to the door to check the room number. The plaque for Room 206 was hanging clearly on the door.

”You’d better give me an explanation, or we will launch a Divine Judgment and send you to hell,” a muffled growl came from inside the hood, like a man-eating beast awakening.

The brother panicked. These were cold-blooded terrorists. He had thought this was a low-risk, lucrative job, but now the two of them didn’t dare imagine their fate.

”Something must be wrong, please give us some time,” the brother hung up the video call in a panic.

”It’s over! They’re going to kill us!”
