The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 90: Chapter 90:Battle Lust

At the end, it took a lot of talks, but the military finally bought each body for 50 coins, as Ronan returned to the base satisfied while all the commanders were terrified.

This adventurer was scary? But the worst were the two that talked down to Ronan. The glance he gave them made their hearts jump.

They knew he wouldn’t let it slide. When they returned, they quickly told the general everything that happened.

The general was stunned. He never expected the Peak Transcendent Realm adventurer to be that strong, killing five One-Star Sovereign Realm beings?

He laughed out loud. This was good. They had struck gold.

Meanwhile, Ronan told Hesa and Yen to stay back as he went into the forest.

It was time for the first evolution of the Bloodlust trait.

Taking a deep breath, he carried the long spines that had joined together as he moved them to his back, then...

Shrrrk!

His flesh tore as he gritted his teeth. He was almost human-like now; he had developed pain receptors and could feel pain. Then, the spine seemed to have found his own as they joined with his spine.

”Argh...” Ronan groaned in pain as he collapsed onto the ground. His body pulsed, his heart growing stronger as the spine mixed with his .

His body seemed to enlarge, then shrink back to normal, as his veins popped up like serpents and his skin tore.

Blood rushed and filled his brain as Ronan took deep breaths. His crimson eyes glowed, his fangs came out, and claws grew as they dug deep into the ground.

He was transforming with each breath, undergoing severe pain with his transformation.

Badum!

Badum!

His heartbeat continued with each second as the spines finally fused into his own spine.

Then he felt a transformation like no other. His blood boiled, his body trembled, and intense energy passed through him.

[Ding! Bloodlust → Battle Lust.]

Battle Lust Lv.11:

A racial trait evolved from Bloodlust. The host’s physical strength gradually increases as he remains in battle. The more severe the injuries sustained by the host, the faster the increase becomes.

Maximum increase: 50%.

[Ding! New abilities gained.]

Extreme Density Lv.1:

The host’s bones possess extraordinary density without increasing their size. Despite retaining his normal physique and weight distribution, the host’s body becomes extremely difficult to move through external force.

White Bone Skin Lv.1:

The host’s bones have evolved beyond their original form, allowing their power to spread throughout the body and form a thin layer of white, ghastly skin over the host’s flesh. The skin possesses extremely high durability and can naturally repair itself by drawing upon the host’s energy. It moves perfectly with the host’s body without restricting movement.

”Huff, huff...”

Ronan took several deep breaths as his body, at this moment, was covered with a ghastly tight skin. It was more like a tight suit fitted around his body, but this was his bone, at least the evolved one.

Ronan had grown stronger. He wanted to see his stats.

Now Ronan had three traits, with two already past the first evolution. His abilities had also increased, and each was from the three traits.

The White Bone Skin retracted as Ronan returned to normal. This time, his weight seemed light. He could walk like a normal human even though his weight was several times that of a normal human.

But more than that, the system’s capability was being seen now. With these three traits, Ronan could fight above his own realm.

Then, he just had one trait past the first evolution yet he could kill one star soverign realm beings. Now, with two, could he exchange a few rounds with a Two-Star Sovereign Realm?

What if Ronan had three traits past the first evolution?

How strong would he be? What if he had four, five... six?

Eventually, Ronan believed even gods would bow before him. His dream didn’t seem so impossible now.

Ronan stretched as he tested his power. He could move much faster now, jump higher, and his strength had become terrifying.

Maybe, speed- and reaction-wise, he was below a Two-Star Sovereign Realm, but...

Crack!

The air exploded as he clenched his fist. Strength-wise, he was as strong as a Two-Star Sovereign Realm.

Testing a few of his abilities, Ronan was satisfied as he returned to the base camp.

”Master...” Yen called out in shock. Ronan still looked the same, but... his strength. Why did she feel that Ronan was stronger than her now?

Even Hesa felt the same way. She only wanted to have a duel with Ronan. She had never seen someone below her in realm and as strong as her, so seeing Ronan and that faint pressure showing he was stronger than her now raised her battle spirit.

She wanted to fight him, especially to see if Ronan was truly stronger than her.

”Hey...” Ronan smiled. He was feeling happy today.

Who wouldn’t? He got a new trait and even got it to the first evolution. Now his strength had increased, and the quest to break through to the Sovereign Realm didn’t seem that far off anymore.

”Erm, the soldiers wanted to meet you, so... go check on them.” Hesa coughed as she remembered.

Hearing this, Ronan frowned. That explained it. Why were only Yen and Hesa at the periphery of the base?

Ronan nodded as he went toward the core, with Yen and Hesa following him, the two women still surprised by Ronan’s change.

The closer Ronan got to the middle of the base camp, the more heartbeats he heard. By the time they reached the core, he saw all the soldiers gathered with smiles on their faces.

The instant they saw Ronan, they rushed toward him.

”Fuck... hey, easy, easy... I am not into men.” Ronan hurriedly raised his hands as he spoke.

Tch... he couldn’t believe his handsomeness had corrupted thousands of men. What a curse to be this beautiful....

Thankfully, the soldiers didn’t hear this through the loud sounds as they approached Ronan and carried him up, lifting him as they sang a war song appreciating him.

If not for Ronan, most of them would be dead or at least wounded on the bed.

Ronan was shocked by this as both Yen and Hesa smiled.

For Hesa, she felt she was back in the military. They always did this when someone did something like what Ronan did. They called them warriors, those brave enough to face death on the battlefield and come out victorious, killing all of their enemies.

Ronan did that and more. They all saw him killing the Orcs attacking them, rescuing some of them from imminent death, so they were happy.

The commanders and even the generals allowed it.

This was a way for them to become closer to the adventurers.

As for Ronan, he was stunned by what happened. Who cared about saving them? He was only killing the Orcs for his own selfish goal, yet... these people...

Ronan felt warm in his heart. It seemed he was appreciated, unlike those ungrateful people he worked for. People like this in the military were more straightforward and appreciative...

How lovely...

Or it could be they wanted him to lower his guard and then capture him.

>..<

Ronan’s body felt cold all of a sudden as his smile disappeared.
