The Evolution of the Weakest Ghoul

Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Greed they talk about

The three undead began their descent, following the original direction the seven-person human group had been heading in as they navigated through the forest.

Being carried by Yen again, Ronan lamented his fate. It was a mixture of happiness and sadness.

After more than two hours of traveling, Yen finally landed alongside Hesa as a huge city came into sight.

Whether it was the capital or Sanju City of the Destal Kingdom, neither came close to this gigantic city.

The city was divided into two sections. The outer region was more compact, with smaller houses scattered everywhere, while the inner city had more open spaces and larger buildings.

A tall wall, twenty meters in height, surrounded the entire city as guards patrolled in groups.

More than a hundred guards patrolled outside the walls, scouting for any spies or creatures getting too close.

Meanwhile, the few remaining guards stood at the gate as Hesa, Yen, and Ronan blended into the crowd.

Just like Ronan had witnessed with Bama, nobles, wealthy merchants, and even members of rich families all traveled with giant, docile beasts and large carts filled with the resources they were transporting.

They were treated differently as they entered the city, but Ronan could see that even they weren’t exempt from being searched.

Their searches were simply quicker.

The words of the humans about the orcs echoed in their minds as the trio came to a realization.

It seemed this city was at war with the orcs.

An important piece of information they had to keep in mind.

”Those bastard orcs. They are so ugly. I just wish the Empire could clear them out already.”

A man dressed in immaculate clothing spoke as he moved toward the other line reserved for nobles, merchants, and notable families.

”Tell me about it. I lost more than five big goods to their raids last month. I only survived because of the adventurers I hired.”

Another man, who was a merchant, spoke with dissatisfaction as the two walked away.

Ronan couldn’t help but ponder their words.

Apart from noting that things were serious for the humans, another thing that caught his attention was the role of adventurers.

It seemed they were used to complete missions.

The ones they killed had been searching for some herbs and hunting a specific beast before being attacked by orcs while the ones mentioned by the merchant protected them.

It seemed entering as adventurers could save them a lot of trouble.

The search here was very strict.

Ronan, Yen, and Hesa didn’t have to stay in the line for too long before they were noticed.

”Wow... how could someone be so beautiful?”

”They look like the rumored appearance of goddesses.”

”That young man is handsome...”

”He could be a good candidate for my daughter.”

”Are the two women his lovers? Such a beautiful trio...”

Hearing the murmurs and seeing more eyes turning toward the trio, Ronan felt things were getting difficult.

They had totally forgotten that they were different now.

Apart from the natural charm of vampires, the three of them were naturally attractive in their human form.

Individually, they were already something.

But with the three of them together, it seemed their charm had been enhanced several times over.

Across from them, the passing nobles also looked at them.

Some had lustful gazes toward the two women, while others looked at them with awe.

Even Ronan wasn’t spared.

He noticed a few beautiful female noble ladies looking at him.

”Please take me with you...”

Ronan thought as he cast longing eyes at the beautiful noblewomen, causing their hearts to skip a beat.

The only thing puzzling was that although the nobles clearly wanted them, they hesitated and seemed unable to move.

Ronan didn’t know why, but they were stuck under this heat.

”Er... maiden, please take my spot. Don’t be under the sun for too long.”

Just then, the young man ahead of them gathered his courage and spoke with a trembling voice.

Hearing this, Ronan raised an eyebrow as Yen smiled and nodded.

”Thank you.”

Yen spoke with a smile.

”Master, Hesa, let’s go.”

Yen spoke as Ronan and Hesa nodded.

The young man was pushed back in the line.

He felt blissful when he heard Yen’s voice and was happy when he saw that even Hesa, who looked cold, had come to his front.

But he gritted his teeth when he heard Yen call Ronan ”Master.”

Why?

Was it because he was handsome?

Well, he was.

But... why did he have two beautiful women with him?

Before long, a middle-aged woman suggested that Ronan come to her front.

And just like the man, she was gritting her teeth when she saw Ronan calling Yen and Hesa to stay with him.

Slowly but surely, everyone was giving up their positions for the three.

It could be Hesa, Yen, or even Ronan who was asked to move forward, but nevertheless, the people were blissful at one moment and annoyed the next when they realized the extra guest had been brought forward.

A few minutes later, Ronan, Hesa, and Yen were already at the front, while behind them was a long line of faces filled with envy and anger.

The guard looked at the three, and for a moment, even he felt his breath shake.

These two women were so beautiful.

One had long black hair, a neutral expression, and a face that could move any man.

Her cuteness was off the charts.

The other had pure white hair like snow.

Her expression was cold, but her face could kill.

The combination of both almost made his eyes roll toward the back in excitement.

He tried to steady his breathing as he looked behind them and saw a long line of dissatisfied expressions.

He couldn’t help but wonder if these women had cut through the line.

But why did no one complain?

Instead, they simply had twisted expressions stuck between happiness and anger.

He soon got his answer when he saw the white-haired young man.

Fuck.

Plus, the black-haired woman was close to him.

Could they be a couple?

No...

The white-haired woman was also with them.

Was this his sister?

But they looked different from one another.

Could this man have these two as lovers?

Damn.

He might be handsome, but this was greed.

How could one man have this many?

Shit, this is the greed they talk about..

The guard’s face also contorted, stuck between happiness and anger.

Meanwhile, Ronan looked at the guard attending to them, whose face had changed and now carried a malicious expression.

What did he do exactly?

Before Ronan could think much about it, he felt a lot of malicious intent coming from behind him.

His eyes furrowed.

What exactly was happening?

Hello?
