ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Basically, this whole dungeon can be summarized in one simple sentence: as you progress upwards the Leviathan’s decks, they are going to get narrower and smaller in size. However, this does not change the fact that basically we are still inside of a belly of an oversized whale. Because of that it was only natural that the fourth layer, the “Armory” was still huge and wide, way bigger and wider than you would have imagined.

「Weapons, weapons, weapons! Precious, dear weapons! Armor, armor, armor! So much armor, as far as the eye can see! Mechas, mechas, mechas! Mchas waiting for me to get them……!!! All mechas! All metal! As little of organic matters as there can be! Is this Heaven!? Because I think I died and went to Heaven!」

BZZT ––––––––––––…………

It’s not that I cannot comprehend why the two of them were acting like that right about now, but some part of me wished to be as far away from here as humanly possible right now, so that I would not have to see that. Because the tension emanating from those two was so big and strong that you could almost see the sparks and zaps flying through the air here. Oh well, best thing to do here would be to try and ignore it, and maybe the feeling of cringe would naturally go away all on its own?

「SANRAKU-SAMA, AREN’T YOU GOING TO BUY ANY WEAPONS YOURSELF? YOUR COMPANIONS SEEM TO BE UNABLE TO CONTAIN THEMSELVES WITH JOY TO THAT PROSPECT.」

「Nah, I am going to refrain from doing that for now…… Yeah. It also doesn’t seem that the weapon that I am interested in is in here at the current moment.」

「ARE YOU PERHAPS INTERESTED IN SOME SPECIFIC WEAPON IN PARTICULAR?」

「Are those things running on some sort of a universal batteries? Or are they all coming with their own, separate power units?」

「HMM, LET ME SEE, WHILE IT IS TRUE THAT THESE WEAPONS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH AN EXTERNAL MANA PARTICLES STORAGE DEVICES…… OH MY! WHAT’S THIS? IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE NEXT-GENERATION PRIMITIVE HUMAN BEINGS CAN USE THEIR OWN MANA RESERVES TO POWER UP THOSE WEAPONS REGARDING OF THEIR TYPE!」

「So I guess that I am actually a walking Mana Tank Dispenser, huh? Good to know in times of a crisis. But it would surely be nice to have some extra storage to spare.」

「THEN HOW ABOUT THIS! A BRAN-NEW MANA PARTICLES STORAGE DEVICE! IT CAN CONTAIN UP TO THIRTY THOUSAND UNITS OF MANA PARTICLES!」

Oh my gosh, so persistent, oi! You could at least give so some breathing room, you know? But anyways, I guess that it will prove useful to things such as The Hundred-Legged Centipede Eight Zero Point Five. Or at the very least I hope that it will be useful here. I then tried to see if the two things are compatible with one another, but it was surprisingly to no use. Asking the Brave Fish about the possible cause, she only muttered something about needing the Amber Jack Pass Level Four for further information. I wonder what could that be all about?

「Now, onto unraveling the mystery of this layer. Unraveling the mystery, huh……?」

OOOOOOOHOHOHO –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somewhere in the distance, I could have sworn that I have heard the human voices sounding really excited, but at the same time as if their Intelligence meter dropped significantly. They sounded more like animas rather than human beings. Oh well, I guess I shall ignore it for the time being. Also, nothing good will come from me going towards that direction, so let’s just go the other way around for now, shall we?

「Re-san, do you maybe understand something about that? Or could it be that you have found something nice for yourself?」

「No, it’s just that…… Umm, they also seem to be selling some separate parts in here, so I think about buying some of them……」

Well, certainly. The Type Man series of weaponry is very good stats-wise, but there is always a possibility to make their performance even better by buying some additional parts. Such as additional battery packs or scopes or stabilizers. Also, before the Type Man weapons actually assemble, they are those really huge mechanical boxes, spheres, and quadrangular pyramids…… So how does the assemble even work for them? Is there some sort of a complicated principle behind it? Or maybe it’s about something else?

「ORIGINALLY, THOSE WEPONS WERE CREATED FOR THE MILITARY USE ONLY, BUT AFTER SOME TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS IT CAME TO LIGHT THAT THE LIMITED SUPPLY OF THOSE WAS A BAD IDEA, SO THEIR PRODUCTION WAS BRAODEN FOR THE USE OF NON-MILITARY PERSONEL AS WELL. IT CERTAINLY MADE SOME DIFFERENCES IN THE BATTLES DURING THE TIMES OF THE ERA OF THE GODS……」

「Yeah, go figure. Era of the Gods. That’s certainly Era of the Gods to you, huh……」

So, even though they did possessed such an advanced weaponry, there was still an existence far stronger than them, one that was able to wipe them all out almost completely…… If I had to hazard a guess, my money would be either on a Unique Monster or maybe some yet-to-be-seen Raid Monster…… Could it be something connected to the Origin? It seem plausible to think so.

「Say, Brave Fish? Do you happen to know about the geography of the Old Continent?」

「YOU MEAN THE EASTERN CONTINENT? IT IS SOMETHING OUTSIDE OF MY AREA OF JURISDICTION, I’M AFRAID…… SO MY KNOWLEDGE OF IT PERTAINS ONLY TO WHAT I CAN FIND IN MY DATABASE.」

「Do you know that there is a giant carcass of something resembling a spaceship that is lodged right into the ground in the middle of that continent?」

「…… YES, I DO KNOW ABOUT THAT. THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD BE ABLE TO FORGET ABOUT IT.」

「There here’s another question for you what the hell is Omega supposed to be? And the size of that ship…… Were you perhaps customizing it for combat? What were you trying to defeat with something like that?」

「IF YOU WISH TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION, NEXT GENERATION HUMAN BEING, YOU’D DO BEST TO TRY AND REACH “WISDOM”, THE LAST LAYER. THE LAST AMBER JACK PASS IS GOING TO ANSWER EVERY POSSIBLE QUESTION THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE.」

A short and precise response, huh? It must have been programmed to kick in once the Player wanted to ask something that was far beyond their “Clearance” levels. An answer that seemed unfriendly and seemed to be pushing you away. But the current question alone has made it clear: there are still some important matters that need to be clarified.

「Nice, that attitude of yours…… I don’t really like it, but at the same time I do not hate it.」

I’ll make you spill out all of your secrets, one way or another. But if you want to make it harder for me, that’s fine –––––– I love to bring people who think that they are superior to me down on their knees and beg for forgiveness with brutal strength alone. …… But no, I’m not going to actually hit anyone in here. It’s just a metaphor.
