Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 41: Chapter 38: Scaling the City Walls (Part 2)

Black Feather was full of vigor, thinking of the instructions and promises given by the captain, Tianbao, before setting out, his heart was burning with passion.

Today, he would bring back the richest spoils for the Fierce Beast Corps.

The Fierce Beast Corps has always referred to themselves as adventurers; they have never called themselves bandits, a word with derogatory connotations.

Even if they were certified as a bandit force by the Celestial Dao Rules.

”Crack!”

Just when Black Feather and the Sky Cavalry were about to seize victory.

A streak of lightning struck from nowhere. Black Feather, who was a thousand meters in the air, couldn’t react in time and was struck dead by the lightning. He and his eagle fell from the sky.

From this height, even if not killed by the lightning, the fall would have shattered them.

Everything happened in a lightning flash...

Not only were the Sky Cavalry stunned, even Gu Qianqiu and Mad Lion were dumbfounded.

”Screech...”

Taking advantage of this opportunity, two Eastsea Falcons flew from above the War Manor, attacking the Sky Cavalry who were about to fly over the city wall.

Little Blue and Little Black didn’t need to activate their bloodline talents; their passive talents increased air combat attack power by 30%, adding to their dimensional stats over 400, qualifying them as B-level strength.

They swept into the Sky Cavalry like eagles among chickens, using their claws, sharp beaks, and wings as weapons.

Their powerful wings flapped, overwhelming the airborne enemies with great force.

Most Sky Cavalry were C-level and D-level; without their birds, they would be crushed with no chance of survival.

The Fierce Beast Bandits on the ground had no chance of catching the falling Sky Cavalry.

Without Black Feather’s organization, the Sky Cavalry had no strength to resist.

Some Sky Cavalry wanted to retreat, to get out of strike range from the Eastsea Falcons.

Some were reckless, and instead of retreating, they led their beasts into the War Manor.

Little Blue and Little Black couldn’t eliminate them swiftly; they targeted the strongest ones for killing.

Those who landed in the manor would face Little White and the Five Tiger Generals.

Ultimately, around a dozen people landed in the manor, but only one was a Silver Bandit.

”Roar...”

Little White and the Five Tigers were already in ambush; in less than a minute, they resolved the bandits who landed. As for their flying beasts, the disparity in strength posed no threat to Little White and the Five Tigers.

The lightning bolt was a Divine Thunder shot from the North City Tower by Fourth Child, who was precisely within the range of Divine Thunder. In order to alleviate pressure from his father, Fourth Child spared no hesitation in consuming 30% of his Spiritual Power to unleash the Divine Thunder.

”Attack! It’s an Innate Divine Technique, it can’t be used continuously. Everyone, kill the evil Lord, the captain awaits our victorious return.” Mad Lion, despite initial shock, seeing the Sky Cavalry scattered by the Eastsea Falcons, decisively ordered a cavalry charge.

He and Gu Qianqiu couldn’t believe it, that the Sky Cavalry organized painstakingly by the Fierce Beast Corps were eliminated like this?

It’s important to note, taming wild birds is tens of times harder than taming beasts. These were almost all of the Fierce Beast Corps’ wild bird beasts.

Facing initial setbacks, Mad Lion needed to maintain composure; Captain Tianbao valued this attack greatly.

The Fierce Beast Corps does not tolerate incompetence, Mad Lion dared not retreat, and could only move forward.

He hoped his assumptions were correct.

If talents were innate and yet limited, if talents could be released indefinitely, for unlimited time, it would be too unreasonable.

After Mad Lion issued the order, over a thousand bandits advanced, one hand holding swords and other weapons, the other gripping climbing tools.

Climbing tools, also known as Climbing Rope and Siege Rope, are the climbing instruments of this world.

Rumble...

The ground was shaking.

In less than a minute, they closed the distance to 300 meters from the city wall.

”Whoosh...”

Yi Tian drew his bow and nocked an arrow, aiming at a Silver Warrior with a dimension score of 300.

The sound of the bow string echoed.

The arrow pierced through the man’s leather armor, right in the chest, and he fell from the black ox.

As Yi Tian’s arrow released, the Bronze Mechanized Guards launched short spears, while the singular Silver Mechanized Guard threw a small halberd.

This time, the bandits scattered hundreds of meters on the siege, so the thrown weapons weren’t very dense, but the accuracy was decent. Those with strength could fend off the short spears, those without could only fall.

The singular Silver Mechanized Guard hurled a silver halberd at a Silver Bandit with a physique over 200, breaking the bandit’s arm.

The fiercest were several Elemental Warriors.

The Gold Element Warrior formed dozens of small swords, instantly taking down three Silver Bandits and ten Bronze Bandits.

The Earth Element Warrior conjured a large earth ball and threw it; the explosion resembled an earth grenade, blasting a wide area.

The Light Element Warrior wielded a long spear, a laser swept across the spear tip horizontally, directly killing three Silver Bandits and injuring two who were too close.

In Yi Tian’s defense lineup, only these three Warriors had group attack capabilities, the other six were single-target burst types.

Even without using skills, dealing with some Bronze Bandits and Silver Bandits came easily for them.

Every five seconds, they fired a cluster of elements; once hit by the elements, the victims were either killed or injured.

”Guys, hold on a bit longer, soon you can deploy the Siege Rope.” Mad Lion shouted encouragement from the rear for the bandits. He dared not rush to the front, only using the underlings to probe.

Fourth Child’s powerful strike not only killed Black Feather but also shocked Mad Lion, intimidating him.

”What is this thing? It’s so similar to a Mage? I feel a terrifying sensation.” Gu Qianqiu was uncertain and dared not move forward.

The bandits reached the range to deploy the siege ropes, with two-tenths fallen.

The remaining bandits launched ropes, tying them to the female wall.

These ropes seemed as strong as steel yet as flexible as beast tendons. A single slice with a knife would instantly rebound.

These siege ropes, crafted by wizards, even wielding a B-level Divine Weapon, would find it hard to sever them in a dozen strikes.

Once tied to the female wall, it would form a dead knot, difficult to untangle for a while.

The first batch, a hundred bandits used the momentum to leap towards the city wall.

The second batch, over two hundred, were prepared to scale the wall, increasing the pressure on the guards.

Yi Tian continuously drew his bow and shot, having already injured or killed more than ten Silver Bandits. Yet more bandits swarmed up.

Nearly a thousand climbing the wall in unison was a spectacular sight. The Bronze Mechanized Guard had limited short spear shooting speed, launching another round to knock down dozens, then switching to long spears for close combat.

Fire Dragon, Yun Tao, and others were ready. Trained soldiers for a thousand days, used in a moment. Today, they would show the Lord their loyalty.

A bandit reaching for the female wall had his head out, immediately being picked off by Fire Dragon with a single strike.

The Bronze Mechanized Guards had a massive advantage in defending the city.

But alas, the enemy was too scattered; gradually bandits climbed up through the gaps, some even in Late-stage Silver.

The Bronze Mechanized Guards weren’t a match for Late-stage Silver Bandits; one, two, and three were getting destroyed into scrap metal.

The Bronze Mechanized Guard was brave and fearless; the destruction of companions didn’t stir them.

With mastery of the long spear, they could even briefly withstand Early-stage Silver Bandits.

The first Silver Bandit to climb the wall hadn’t flaunted for long before being hit in the head with an earth stone by an Earth Element Warrior, dying on the spot.

Fire Dragon wielded his large spear mercilessly against these former brethren. He cunningly targeted Bronze Bandits, retreating when facing Silver Bandits, leading them to surrounding Elemental Warriors to have them resolved.

Yun Tao, Yun Hai, and Yun Che were famed for their speed; as Early-stage Silver, they excelled, effortlessly cutting down ordinary Early-stage Silver.

Due to their agility, they slaughtered Bronze Bandits even faster.

But even the best tiger couldn’t fend off a pack of wolves; as more bandits ascended the walls, they found fighting increasingly exhausting.

”Boom...”

Two Fire Element Warriors were besieged by Silver Bandits, unable to unleash their ordinary attacks, resorting to skills.

Nine fireballs released in less than a second, Fire Element Warriors could assault one person nine times or hit nine individuals instantly.

The two Fire Element Warriors obliterated over a dozen bandits who climbed the walls, including seven or eight Silver Bandits.

A Water Element Warrior, having just fired a water arrow, saw a Late-stage Silver Bandit charging, forced to use an Ice Soul Arrow, killing him.

The Elemental Warriors faced a never-ending stream of enemies, sometimes struggling...
