Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Gourd Girls

”Celestial Dao Stone, add 15,000 Celestial Dao Coins to Constitution!”

Soon, Yi Tian’s constitution reached 27 points.

After the wooden cabin was finished, the glow of the gourd seeds vanished. The misty time was shorter than Yi Tian had imagined.

”It’s starting, Seven-Color Gourd. Hope a Gourd Spirit can be born.”

Right in front of the little wooden cabin, after setting up a gourd trellis, Yi Tian chose the loosest soil and buried the Seven-Colored Seed.

A big bottle of Water of Life was set beside him, and Yi Tian first poured some into a prepared wooden bowl.

He picked up the bowl and began to witness the growth of the Seven-Colored Gourd. As the Water of Life dripped into the soil, strand after strand of Life Essence was absorbed by the gourd seed.

In an instant, the gourd seed flared brightly in the earth—one drop, ten drops, a hundred drops, all rapidly soaked up, and then a little sprout broke through the soil.

Yi Tian’s hand shook, and he dumped the rest of the Water of Life all at once; the gourd vine shot up a foot high before his eyes.

Yi Tian refilled the bowl with Water of Life, watering as he coaxed the gourd vine to climb the trellis.

This bowl went down, and half the trellis was entwined by the gourd vine.

After the third bowl, the vine had covered the entire trellis.

Once the fourth bowl of Water of Life was poured, seven buds of different colors appeared on the vine, tightly closed and ready to bloom.

At the fifth bowl’s completion, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and violet—seven flowers blossomed, illuminating the surrounding night sky.

After the sixth bowl of Water of Life, the flowers withered, and seven small gourds of seven colors hung down in turn, though no longer shining.

With the seventh bowl of Water of Life, the seven gourds slowly grew larger, each reaching two feet long. Luckily, Yi Tian hadn’t skimped on wood when building the trellis, or it would’ve collapsed under the weight.

After the eighth bowl, the seven gourds stopped growing much, but began to shine. Red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, violet—blinking on and off, flickering in and out.

The whole courtyard filled with colorful light, as if a Divine Miracle, brilliantly interwoven with the starry sky.

”The gourds have matured, entering the final moment of absorbing Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.”

The Celestial Dao Stone finally reminded Yi Tian. Looking at the Water of Life, only less than a tenth remained. Yi Tian estimated quickly—about twenty thousand drops left.

But to Yi Tian, it was all worth it. Whether to birth the Gourd Spirit or to obtain seven kinds of gifts.

”No good, the Celestial Dao Stone says the camp could be attacked by wild beasts at any time. I have to build a wall.”

With plenty of wood, Yi Tian felt confident building, and found sturdy fencing on the Construction Platform.

The sturdy fence, two meters high, was sufficient against ordinary beasts. Each meter required two units of wood, two units of wire.

Yi Tian planned further—he intended to expand the vegetable garden tenfold, with the garden inside the fence to keep beasts from ruining it.

Finally, Yi Tian enclosed roughly over a thousand square meters, making about a hundred and fifty meters of fencing.

Even with the Construction Platform’s help, he still had to move the wood—he worked hard through most of the night.

When a rough wooden door closed, Yi Tian returned to his wooden bed, collapsing in exhaustion.

His strength was great, yet his constitution couldn’t keep up; each time he carried several units of wood, he ended up with an aching waist and sore back.

He wasn’t even carrying that much wood!

Twenty-seven points in constitution were still a bit lacking. His strength was four times his constitution.

If constitution was four times speed, it wouldn’t affect the body—at worst, he’d just get beaten up a few more times.

This made Yi Tian decide: once he’d saved up fifty thousand Celestial Dao Coins, he’d upgrade constitution to fifty first.

Men don’t need to be that fast.

It had been a dreamy, exhausting day—he closed his eyes and fell into sleep.

In his dream, Yi Tian saw a bunch of Little Kiddo calling him grandpa.

Suddenly a python burst through the fence and dragged him away.

Then the Calabash Sisters started rescuing grandpa, one by one. The python had already become a demon, aiming to swallow all the Calabash Sisters and become a Divine Beast.

At the very moment the python evolved into a Divine Beast, Yi Tian became its final feast.

”Whew!”

Yi Tian woke from his dream, drenched in cold sweat.

”Papa, time to get up.”

”Don’t sleep, the sun’s out.”

”Haha, papa is a big lazybones.”

”Hmph! Shut up, don’t bother papa’s sleep.”

”I’m about to land, can’t you all be quiet for a bit?”

The noisy chattering echoed in the courtyard; Yi Tian hurried to open the small wooden door.

Several gourds, each two feet tall, bounced around, making the gourd vine creak and groan, as if it would fall apart at any moment.

Yellow Gourd, Green Gourd, Cyan Gourd, Violet Gourd—these four were especially lively.

”Papa, papa’s here!”

This time, all seven gourds called out together.

The birth of the Gourd Spirit caught Yi Tian completely by surprise. Yet something seemed off—why did they all sound like girls?

Weren’t Calabash Sisters supposed to be boys?

”Papa, come hug me!”

Cyan Gourd shook back and forth, the voice soft and girlish.

”Are you girls?”

Yi Tian walked over to the gourd trellis and touched the Cyan Gourd. On Earth, Yi Tian was a proper virgin—being called papa gave him odd feelings.

”Why would papa ask that? Of course we’re girls!”

The eldest, Red Gourd, swayed gently.

”Why do you call me papa?”

Yi Tian didn’t dwell on it—after all, anything was possible in the Celestial Dao World.

On Earth, Yi Tian had heard a legend: the Gourd Divine Mountain nurtured two divine Seven-Colored Gourd Seeds. When a pangolin accidentally pierced the mountain, it exploded, flinging the female gourd seed to the East Sea Shore and the male seed sheltering an old man home.

”Papa created us, so we feel close to you,” Blue Gourd replied.

”Good child, sweet child. I’m truly happy you were born.” Yi Tian said sincerely.
