Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 39: Chapter 37: The Attack Begins

Water Elemental Warriors, their normal attacks are drawn with bows shooting Water Arrows condensed from the Water Element. Their skill is Ice Soul, which gathers an Ice Soul Arrow—although it’s not an area attack, its power is increased by 50%, capable of killing living creatures with constitution below 750.

Wood Elemental Warriors, their normal attack is throwing wooden spikes one after another. Their skill is Divine Spear, throwing a gigantic wooden spear with the same power as Ice Soul.

Fire Elemental Warriors, their normal attack is Fireball. Their skill is Nine-Linked Fireballs, instantly firing nine fireballs, killing living creatures with constitution below 750.

Thunder Element Soldiers, their normal attack is lightning. Their skill is Thunder Kill, which releases massive lightning and also kills living creatures with constitution below 750.

Light Elemental Warriors, normal skill is Light Orb, and their main skill is Light Energy Sweep.

Dark Elemental Soldiers, their normal skill is Shadow Blade, and their main skill is Shadow Kill, producing Shadow Clones to assassinate the enemy.

These Elemental Warriors cost Yi Tian 56 million Celestial Dao Coins.

Currently, Yi Tian’s Celestial Dao Coin balance is 34.9 million.

Elemental Warriors have increased Yi Tian’s territory points by 7000. Current points: (207450/1000000).

”Activate all Brass Mechanized Guards and Silver Mechanized Guards!”

At Yi Tian’s command, on every city tower, the Fierce Beast Core of the Mechanical Guards was consumed. Then, under the lead of the Silver Mechanized Guards, 101 Mechanical Guards appeared on the city walls.

Yi Tian assembled the territory members and assigned their tasks.

”Third Child, you lead nine Warriors to defend the south wall.”

”Fourth Child, you lead nine Warriors and defend the west city tower.”

”Little White, Little Blue, Little Black, Five Tigers, you keep your eyes on the manor. Stop any living creature from entering the manor by any means.”

”Big Child, Second Child, and Fire Dragon, Yun Long, Yun Fei, bring your people and join me guarding the east and north walls.”

Yi Tian quickly finished assigning the tasks. The main force was stationed in the northeast, because after offending the Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe and the Fierce Beast Gang, they would likely attack from their original direction.

”Okay, Daddy!”

”Yes, sir!”

The group received Yi Tian’s orders and dispersed.

As time ticked by, Yi Tian also took the Five Elements Sacred Fruit.

Strength 317, Constitution 305, Agility 329, Spiritual Power 311.

After the kiddos took Spirit Fruit, their abilities improved significantly as well.

Among them, with the blessing of the War Spirit, Third Child reached standard B-level strength.

Big Child’s basic strength was nearly four hundred—in full Innate Divine Power mode, he feared neither the heavens nor the earth.

Second Child and Fourth Child are self-explanatory, one’s support-oriented, and the other relies mainly on spiritual power for offense.

Little Blue and Little Black have three-dimensional stats close to five hundred; with their skill activated, they surpass six hundred and are the main guardians of the manor.

Little White is a bit behind, with three-dimensional stats a little over three hundred.

Yi Tian sent people to herd all the chickens, cows, and sheep into the shed and locked the door—lest they run off and get snatched by some indigenous rascal.

On the tall city wall, every ten meters stood a Mechanized Guard, and the Elemental Warriors waited in front of the city towers, nine of them at the ready for Yi Tian’s orders.

”Second Child, hide inside the city tower when the fight starts.” Nearing nine o’clock, Yi Tian seriously warned Second Child on the East City Tower.

As his territory leveled up, the intensity of wars also ramped up.

”Daddy, I can fight too.”

Second Child pouted, then squeezed her little fists and shot a streak of spiritual power into the sky.

This was Spiritual Power Release. Once your spiritual power hits two hundred, you can do it. Yi Tian learned the Five Elements Technique and can now release spiritual power too.

But for ordinary spiritual power release, at three hundred power, you only get the effect of two hundred.

It’s not worth the cost.

So, people like Yi Tian, Big Child, and Third Child don’t bother with spiritual power release.

”Forget it. Just stick close to me. If the enemy storms the city, all you need to do is spiritual power release,” Yi Tian instructed Second Child.

Yi Tian felt that this time, there would definitely be indigenous Gold Level strongmen.

For such opponents, he’d have to rely on Elemental Warriors’ skills or unleash big moves with Little Kiddo.

”Welcome, Lords, to the monthly assessment! This past month has been the protection period for Lords, so it wasn’t too challenging. But the end-of-month assessment will check your growth to a certain extent.”

”This month, some people have territories at Level Seven. Others are as lazy as salted fish—still stuck at Level 0! I don’t know how or why they did it, but they’ll surely regret it after the assessment.”

”The indigenous people attacking Lords will, following the rules, send forces roughly matching the Lords’ apparent strength. Of course, there are exceptions: if you extorted, blackmailed, intimidated, or otherwise antagonized the natives, you’ll get special retaliation.”

”There are two kinds of rewards in this assessment. The first is for killing enemies: slaying an ordinary combatant gets 10 Celestial Dao Coins; an E-level grants 100; a D-level is 1000; for killing a C-level, you get 10,000; a B-level is 100,000; taking down an A-level earns you 1,000,000; and eliminating an S-level will net you 10,000,000 Celestial Dao Coins.”

”The second type is territory rewards. The Celestial Dao Stone divides each territory level into Initial, Middle, and High Tiers. For Level 1 Territory, you get 1–3 Black Iron Treasure Chests by tier; Level 2 gets 1–3 Bronze Treasure Chests; Level 3, 1–3 Silver Treasure Chests; Level 4, 1–3 Golden Treasure Chests; Level 5, 1–3 Platinum Treasure Chests; Level 6, 1–3 Diamond Treasure Chests; and Level 7, 1–3 King-level Treasure Chests.”

”Aside from these two, winners will get ample spoils!”

”Also, after this assessment, the Celestial Dao Stone will unlock new abilities to speed up Lord communication and growth.”

”Next month, we’ll be ramping up the difficulty for Lords as appropriate.”

”Good luck! See you all on the thirty-first of next month!”

The Celestial Dao Stone flashed white, and a voice sounded through the stone, entering every Trial Taker’s mind.

Few words, but jam-packed with information.

What shocked the Lords was that Seventh-Level Territories already existed.

In Zone 10086, apart from Yi Tian, the highest were a handful of Level 4 Territories. For them, having a Level 7 Territory was unthinkable.

Monster Region got word from somewhere—a Seventh-Level Territory needs 200,000 territory points.

So those with deep pockets are doing all they can to push their territory to Level 6, hoping for greater rewards during the assessment.

Now, with the advent of Level 7 Territories, the big shots in Monster Region soon realized there’s always a higher mountain. They only made it to Level 6, so there’s nothing to boast about.

And those at Level 0, after realizing there are no Treasure Chest rewards, are left full of regret.

Of course, some carefree folks don’t mind. Treasure Chests or not, as long as they breeze through the assessment, life’s good—they won’t starve anyway.

As for Yi Tian, he’s got his eyes on the King-level Treasure Chests. Even Platinum ones are overflowing with rewards; if he gets a King-level chest, he’ll snag something miles ahead of current development, even if it’s just one item.

Yi Tian also picked up another critical piece of info: ”roughly matching the Lord’s apparent strength.”

What exactly does ”apparent strength” mean?

Yi Tian kept wondering if Talented individuals in the territory count as hidden strength for a Lord.

If they do, having lots of Talented people is a huge advantage for Yi Tian.

”Daddy, there are a bunch of three-eyed people up north, lots and lots. And monsters with two bull horns too!”

Soon after the voice from the Celestial Dao Stone faded, Second Child stood on the female wall, pointed north, and called out to Yi Tian.

Two tribes?

Yi Tian knitted his brows—just the north side already had two tribal groups.

”Big Child, head to the north wall. Take nine Elemental Warriors with you. Before that, swing by the west wall and inform Fourth Child to come help you first. The Elemental Warriors will defend the west side for now.”

”Yun Long, Yun Fei, you two lead half the team north and block the invaders!”

Yi Tian didn’t leave, instead assigning the defense of North City to Big Child.

”Daddy! There are enemies coming from the east—monsters of all sorts riding fierce beasts, and some riding birds.”

Right after giving his orders, Second Child tugged Yi Tian’s sleeve.

”Okay, Daddy knows,” Yi Tian replied, already aware they were from the Fierce Beast Gang.

”These tribes ganging up on me won’t get much out of it!” Yi Tian was puzzled. If a few indigenous forces split one Celestial Dao Stone, is there really enough to go around?

”Lord, the High Priest and Wizard often trade among themselves. They must have struck a deal to divide up the territory’s resources,” Fire Dragon explained behind Yi Tian.

”If they think I’m an easy meal, I’ll make them lose their teeth!” With his territory’s rich resources, not to mention Spirit Fruit and 3.08 million units of gold, those indigenous forces would feast like kings.

As they spoke, the enemy up north crossed the grassland. From his vantage point, Yi Tian could see dense crowds of figures.

Their momentum was fearsome. To attack ”the evil Lord” Yi Tian, they even prepared battle banners embroidered with their tribe’s totems.

Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe: 500 Bronze Warriors, 50 Silver Warriors, 1 Gold Warrior.

Ah Lingdong: Elder of the Three-Eyed One-Horned Tribe. Strength 550, Constitution 560, Agility 490.

Heaven-Reaching Tribe of the Minotaur Race: 500 Bronze Warriors, 50 Silver Warriors, 1 Golden Warrior.

Niu Ang: Golden Warrior of the Heaven-Reaching Tribe of the Minotaur Race. Strength 600, Constitution 620, Agility 500.

Yi Tian’s mind flashed with data about these indigenous forces.

Leaving Bronze Warriors aside, among the hundred Silver Warriors: fifty are early-stage C-level, forty are mid-level C, and ten are late-stage C.

After crossing into the woodland north of the lake, they didn’t bother with the roads and just barged straight through. They wrecked at least hundreds of two- to three-meter-high young trees there.

Passing through the regular forest zone, they destroyed quite a few saplings too.

Especially the leader—a three-meter-tall Minotaur with the head honcho vibe—Niu Ang was like a bulldozer, reducing bowl-thick saplings to splinters with a single casual kick.

Yi Tian cursed inwardly. Though the felled trees were just a drop in the bucket for his territory, as the pioneer of greenery and protector of the environment, he was furious at this destruction.

”Just wait! Catching you won’t be settled by simply planting a few new trees.” Yi Tian clenched his palm on the female wall.

”Roar roar roar...”

”Howl howl howl...”

A pack of fierce beasts charged into the eastern mist, brimming with killing intent. For a moment, Yi Tian felt as though the fog shield itself was shattered by their impact.

”Haha, we really got in! The Wizard said this territory is rolling in gold and thick with Spiritual Qi. Taking him down is worth more than a thousand other lands!”

A lion-headed monster atop a lion laughed uproariously.
