Global Lords: Me and My Calabash Kiddos

Chapter 14: Chapter 12: Second Child Arrives

Little White and the Five Tigers weren’t about to admit defeat. With a single leap and drop, Little White could smack an enemy unconscious. This was Yi Tian’s command—otherwise, Little White would have just bitten the natives’ necks clean off.

Each of the Five Tigers took on one native. Their stats were about the same, but with the momentum of a wild tiger, they came out on top. With their chief defeated and heavy casualties, the natives’ morale weakened. The tide shifted—it was just a matter of time before the Five Tigers took them down.

”Surrender and you won’t be killed!”

Yi Tian pulled out the Celestial Dao Stone and spoke in a language the natives could understand.

Now there were only seven or eight natives still standing, and there was nowhere to run. Little White circled around the battlefield like a ghost.

These natives were clearly intelligent—seeing they were outmatched, they threw down their weapons and squatted, hands over their heads.

”Not bad, teachable.”

Yi Tian nodded in satisfaction.

Of course, he wasn’t about to take these natives back to his camp—they were way too ugly. Beast Taming Skills only worked on fierce beasts, and if these Three-Eyed One-Horned Race dudes betrayed him, it’d be a real pain.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Three-Eyed One-Horned Race attacked the territory again next time—Yi Tian didn’t trust them.

Yi Tian planned to sell the hardest-to-control Bronze Warriors directly and have the surviving Black Iron Warriors plant trees.

Once the trees were planted, clear them all out.

On the auction house, there was a special section for beast trading and slave trading.

”So this is Celestial Dao Fortune? Only by defeating invaders can you attract Celestial Dao Fortune.”

After all the Three-Eyed One-Horned natives surrendered, a Silver Treasure Chest appeared near the Bronze Warrior.

Also, at the location where the Black Iron Warriors surrendered, another Silver Treasure Chest appeared.

”Open them together!”

Yi Tian didn’t mess around. Given his current status, opening Silver Chests wasn’t that exciting for him anymore. He still had four roulette draws, and Yi Tian planned to save up until he had seven, then do a batch draw and unlock the Two-Star Roulette at the same time.

”Obtained Silver*5, Celestial Dao Coin*1000, 100kg fine salt, 100kg peanut oil, luxury genuine leather sofa blueprint*1.”

”Obtained Silver*5, Celestial Dao Coin*1000, porcelain technology crystal*1, solar auto-cleaning biogas pool blueprint*1, luxury swimming pool blueprint*1, ordinary mist scroll*1.”

The first chest was meh, but the second one was a total jackpot.

Ordinary Mist Scroll: Consumable. The Lord may use one mist scroll to walk out of the mist. Lasts for 4 hours. After 4 hours, the Lord can teleport back to the territory with items obtained outside.

”Awesome!”

Yi Tian clenched his fist after reading the description. People are naturally curious—which survivalist didn’t want to check out the outside world?

No matter how well the territory is built, it’s still like a bird in a cage.

Yi Tian planned to wait until he’d sold off the slaves before heading out. He was worried if he left, the slaves would stir up trouble.

Next, it was time to sort the loot.

Yi Tian had gone a bit overboard—accidentally killed two, and there were three seriously wounded, so he just finished them off. Not like he had the ability to care for heavy casualties.

It was kill or be killed between both sides—mercy wasn’t really a thing here, just different values.

The lightly wounded only needed some herbs for basic bandaging. The medicine in the Celestial Dao World worked great.

Yi Tian forged an iron chain and bound the Bronze Warrior hand and foot. Bronze Warriors are powerful—not easy to control.

The rest were weaklings—after confiscating their weapons, Little White and the Five Tiger Generals kept them in check easily.

Yi Tian opened the auction house slave section, used the Celestial Dao Stone to scan the Bronze Warrior, and put him up for auction at 50,000 Celestial Dao Coins—with the note: ”Slave with Strength and Constitution over 150, excellent worker. Buy now, instant profit. Iron chain included. Friendly reminder: Don’t buy if your stats are below 150.”

50,000 was steep—could buy tons of stuff, but Yi Tian was sure Bronze Warriors were worth that much at this point.

Rarity makes value!

Sure enough, as soon as Yi Tian listed the Bronze Warrior, it vanished on the spot—and 50,000 Celestial Dao Coins landed in his account.

Afterwards, Yi Tian sold the Black Iron Warriors’ weapons at fair prices. The prisoners buried the five corpses in the woods, fertilizing the land, and started their vigorous tree-planting campaign.

They’re intelligent beings, so no way Tigers could compare at work. Average stats of 60—three times the efficiency of a regular Earthling.

By about 10pm, they’d planted over thirty thousand medium-size trees—black jujube, ginkgo, poplar, long ridge locust, etc.—on the newly cleared northern grassland.

Gave them some meat at night—let them roast it themselves. Little White and the Five Tiger Generals kept an eye out to prevent a slave uprising.

Busy day over, Yi Tian’s life quality went up another notch. Had a plate of fried pork at night. Big Child couldn’t use chopsticks, just grabbed it with his hands, mouth greasy.

Yi Tian washed Big Child in a wooden tub for half an hour before tossing him on the bed.

”Human Race Yi Tian, No.1 cancer in Zone 66, selfish to the core.”

”Yi Tian come out! Do you know how many of us died because of you today?”

”Stop cursing, Yi Tian’s already been hacked to death by natives, I saw it.”

”The ID’s still online, 99999. Only the good die young, bad guys live forever.”

”Everyone don’t trade with Yi Tian anymore—black-hearted dealer. Just ’cause he’s got a technology crystal he’s all that, even charges an extra beast core. Just look at the auction house—we struggled like hell to kill three pests and the best reward was snatched by Yi Tian.” —Sam from Blue Skin Race.

”Don’t let some folks sway you. Yi Tian’s crossbow is very useful—I killed two Kobolds thanks to it and got a Bronze Treasure Chest. Trade is voluntary.” —Qin Fanshuang from Earth Human Race.

”Poster above is from the same planet as Yi Tian, certified.”

Before sleeping, Yi Tian logged into the chat channel as usual, only to see the entire thread cursing him out.

It was like Yi Tian had turned into a broken gong—everyone had to take a swing.

Yi Tian was confused—is it really that serious? The auction house doesn’t even sell crossbows, so I sold some for a higher price, big deal.

”Compared to life, one beast core is nothing. Some people making a fuss, stirring up trouble—what’s the point? Celestial Dao’s above, we’re all ants. Seeking benefit and avoiding harm is human nature, isn’t it? Was my crossbow technology crystal picked up for free?”

Yi Tian posted a message peppered with rhetorical questions. He had reason to suspect Sam from Blue Skin Race was rallying a bunch of alien trolls against him.

Last night, after Yi Tian clashed with Sam from Blue Skin Race, a bunch of weirdos started targeting him. Yi Tian hadn’t paid attention then, but thinking about it now, Sam’s already pulling together a gang.

”It’s not about the beast core—why didn’t you sell crossbows earlier, had to wait till danger hit? If I’d had a crossbow, I wouldn’t have gotten hurt today.” —Yang Yangyang from Sheep-headed Race questioned Yi Tian.

”Brother Sheep, as the saying goes, human strength is limited. All our territories are run solo—I’m working day and night, where’s the time to make crossbows? If Celestial Dao Stone hadn’t nudged me today, I wouldn’t have made any. We’re all intelligent races—everything we do each day is just for development.” Yi Tian replied earnestly.

After Yi Tian posted, everyone started thinking, seems like ever since they arrived in this world, it’s been seven days of non-stop scavenging or working on the prairie—never a break.

”I need a crossbow to deal with the next threat—Big Boss, can you help? I’ll give a beast core. Nearly got pounded to death by a monster today.” —Pigman Race Pig Boar posted.

”Sure, just hit me up in DM. I just saw a crossbow on auction for 10,000 Celestial Dao Coins. A beast core’s only worth 3,000 anyway.”

There really was a crossbow for 10,000 Celestial Dao Coins in the auction house.

To be fair, that one wasn’t Yi Tian’s listing. Yi Tian figured a crossbow at that price was impossible to sell—weaklings don’t have that kind of coin, strong ones don’t need crossbows.

A lot of people searched the auction house and, sure enough, ”crossbow, 10k” was legit. Suddenly, swapping one beast core for a crossbow seemed like a steal.

So orders started flooding in for Yi Tian.

Yi Tian perked up, cranked out 200 crossbows, then got so tired he told them to place orders tomorrow, hugged his 200 beast cores, and crashed out.

Day Eight.

”Hmph! Finally I don’t have to babysit this bunch of childish sisters.”

Stepped out the door in the morning—only to get hit with a pleasant surprise.

Second Child was about to drop.

From Second Child’s speech, Yi Tian could tell she was pretty mature—unlike Third Child, Fourth Child, Fifth Child, and Seventh-Child, those four little troublemakers.

”Papa, I’m here to help you.”

Second Child called out, voice clear. With a bang, the big orange gourd landed.

Orange light flashed; the gourd was glowing with divinity, like a mini-sun—almost impossible to stare at directly.

The orange light faded as the gourd’s divinity was absorbed, and a Little Kiddo—looking three parts like Big Child but definitely different—appeared naked.

Her big eyes were alive with intelligence, gleaming with seven-colored divine light—she radiated vitality.

”...”

Yi Tian really wanted to shout from the rooftops—to let out all the excitement in his heart. But when he saw Second Child’s eager face, he held back—hard to beat a Little Kiddo in your heart.

At that moment, Second Child walked up beside Yi Tian, looked up at him—clearly wanted a hug, but pretended not to care, super reserved.

”Haha, my good girl, from now on you’ll be Papa’s eyes and ears.”

Yi Tian scooped up Second Child.

Second Child’s attack power wasn’t impressive, but her Spiritual Power was huge. Yi Tian figured if she learned an Acquired Attack Skill, she’d be a real powerhouse.

Yi Tian planned to ask about Spiritual Power next time he chatted in the Monster Region.
