A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 934: Chapter 926: Calamity of the Wizards (6)

Rumble, rumble...

Wherever the Wizard’s Will passed, life was devastated, disaster spread, and countless large and small tribes of mutated creatures similar to Ape People and Pangolin People were inadvertently annihilated.

In the high sky, beneath the Green Truth Mask, Green’s eyes pierced through the thin chaotic miasma, surveying the ground where the dense vegetation was ravaged by the frenzied Slave Monster Corps, swaying and breaking, patiently waiting for news.

Xiao Ba was on the back of the Enigmatic Thousand-Headed Bird, casting a vast shadow, soaring in the high skies and ceaselessly patrolling.

”It seems there’s no trace of the Underworlders here either.”

Agrimond shook his head in disappointment, about to give the order to lead the massive Slave Monster Corps forward to search for possible traces of Underworlders in other regions, but was stopped by Green.

Agrimond looked at Green in confusion.

”No need to rush, the Devil Locustvine is a natural enemy of these Underworlders. According to the information once obtained by the Evolved Humans, traces of Underworlders did indeed appear near the L Base, and as they invented some plant-extinguishing powder to battle the Tree People, their traces gradually disappeared.”

Pausing, Green continued: ”The roots of the Devil Locustvine have not yet spread here, and the Junior Wizards below have not reported any large-scale intelligent creature tribes. If there really is no hidden entrance to the Underworlders’ caves, it would indeed be too incredible, so let’s patiently wait.”

After Green’s analysis, Agrimond nodded and continued to wait.

On the ground, a Crystal Behemoth moved forward with its heavy body ”rumble, rumble”, its thirty-meter-high frame toppling trees along the way, and even some aggressive mutated plants were helpless against this massive, thick-skinned beast.

On the back of the beast, a dozen Arcane Wizards from an unknown academy huddled together, looking around, searching for the Underworlders’ traces as tasked by the four Great Stigmata Sorcerers above.

Whoosh...

A majestic waterfall appeared ahead, cascading down the mountainside, with the occasional giant bird monster soaring past.

The Crystal Behemoth was about to cross the waterfall like the other Slave Monsters, when one of the Water Element Sorcerers on its back suddenly discovered something with an exclamation.

”Here! It’s here!”

The Witch, wearing round glasses, had her pupils occasionally flash with a hint of azure, as if possessing some special perception ability. Excitedly, she and the surrounding wizards leapt from the back of the Crystal Behemoth, heading directly into the waterfall.

Plop!

The cave hidden behind the waterfall was revealed to the wizards’ eyes, along with numerous strange beings with hundreds of soft tentacles for faces, communicating with each other in low-frequency sound waves, numbering in the hundreds, ranging from B-Class to A-Class and even S-Class!

”Target Underworlders discovered, get out of here quickly.”

The dozen or so Arcane Wizards, upon seeing these Underworlders, reacted immediately and rapidly retreated out of the waterfall, except for the witch who first discovered the hidden cave, who screamed as her feet were suddenly gripped firmly by hands from the stone walls.

These Underworlders, besides having support from the Dark Night World, possessed formidable innate abilities to manipulate earth and stones. To the wizards’ astonishment, the stone cave was sealing and closing rapidly, revealing their trap set to capture the wizards!

”Ah...”

”These creatures!”

If it were other beings, even Body Refining Sorcerers or Mechanical Wizards, they might have quietly fallen into the trap. However, being Elemental Sorcerers, two Second-Level Wizards among the group, sensing the dangerous situation, activated Elemental Teleport, disappearing instantly from the cave, leaving behind echoes of panicked low-frequency roars from the Underworlders.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The two Second-Level Arcane Wizards, a male and a female, escaped with Elemental Teleport from the rapidly healing cave hidden by the waterfall, glancing up at the sky where four Stigmata Sorcerers stirred large areas of elemental distortion, like four tornadoes, standing firm. Not daring to linger, they flew over, their faces a little pale.

”Hmm?”

Green, who was momentarily free to study the Arcane knowledge of the Source of Oblivion, in the form of a hundred-meter Barbarian Giant Sun Chaser, along with the other three Stigmata Sorcerers, looked over.

The two low-ranking Arcane Wizards bowed in greeting.

”Great Destruction Sword Stigmata Sorcerer, Overmagic Hand Stigmata Sorcerer, Oblivion Tower Stigmata Sorcerer, Fighting Monstrosity Stigmata Sorcerer, just now...”

...

Boom!

Agrimond’s robust figure wielded a Blood Axe, as if to cleave the entire mountain range, with boulders ”rumbling” scattered, tossing aside several enormous stones that far exceeded human size, revealing a buried cave to everyone.

”Humph, you guard the entrance well; anyone coming out, kill without mercy!”

Agrimond turned to instruct the Slave Monster Corps, surrounding from all directions, including the sky and ground. Hundreds of Arcane Wizards quickly began establishing a Magic Array, enveloping the entrance.

Roar!

Amidst numerous howling and roaring monsters, Agrimond, Youquan, and Severnese entered this still relatively spacious cave one after the other, finding it already empty, with no sign of the Underworlders or captured wizards.

The Green Savage Giant Sun Chaser transformed back, his human form wreathed in Seven-Colored Runes following them into the cave.

Whoosh...

The cave was ventilated, with over a dozen branching paths of various sizes, like an ant nest maze. While Agrimond, Youquan, and Severnese observed and decided, Green’s Hunting Nose had already determined the direction by the scent of the captured wizards, leading the way forward.

”This way.”

The four ventured deeper, their footsteps echoing in the cave. As the unrestrained invaders neared the core of the Underworlders, the latter could no longer feign ignorance and continue hiding.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Hundreds of stone cones suddenly fell from above, but only Xiao Ba on Green’s shoulder at the front curiously glanced at them.

Poof! Poof! Poof! Poof...

The stone cones, nearing the four Stigmata Sorcerers within a dozen meters of power surges, disintegrated into scattering sand.

With the road ahead seemingly at an end, Green in front did not pause at all. Approaching the stone wall, it ”cracked” and spread open.

Bang!

With a blast of scattered stones, a massive underground space inside echoed with wails, seemingly injured by the flying debris.

”Oh? Quite a number, it seems.”

Stepping into the vast underground space, Green was slightly surprised to see over ten thousand Underworlders forming a human wall defense, staring at him in terror.

With a wave of his hand, Gravity surged, drawing a 1.5-meter-tall Underworlder screaming toward Green, disregarding others, a natural specimen observation behavior of the Elemental Sorcerer.

”Don’t waste time on these little things!”

Agrimond and Youquan turned into afterimages, charging into the crowd of Underworlders, layers of blood rain and wind sweeping out. With the swing of an axe and a sword, even the shockwaves of power were beyond what these small creatures, akin to ants and worms in the eyes of the World Master, could withstand.

”Even Stigmata does not change this savage perception...”

Muttering to himself, Severnese approached the half-bodied Underworlder remains that had yet to die, unhesitatingly opening the bleeding abdomen to study the internal organs for himself.
