A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 906: Chapter 898: Biological Tiers

”Situ Mo.”

The old director called Situ Mo today; the guards and clerical staff around him had already left, leaving only Li Qingya by his side.

Li Qingya, Vitality: 17, Primordial Energy: 132, an evolved human with special eye detection functions, possessing the ability to detect biological vitality and energy attributes.

”Director!”

Months of regular army life had made Situ Mo much more resolute; his chin was now adorned with stubble, giving him a somewhat mature and stable uncle-like demeanor, someone you could rely on.

Situ Mo was puzzled. He was just about to leave the base to hunt for chaos crystal cores when he was suddenly called here. What’s going on?

”Well, Situ Mo, you are now a C-Class Evolver within the base and have the clearance to know some of the base’s more advanced intelligence and plans.”

Advanced intelligence and plans!?

Situ Mo’s eyes lit up. He had been getting along well with Li Qingya these past few months and had often heard her subtly hint that once he became a C-Class Evolver, he would participate in more advanced plans within the base. Now, the day had finally come. What exactly were these plans!?

Click! Click!

A button on the chair pressed, and with it, the wall behind the old director sank down, revealing an ancient spiritual elevator that seemed to lead an unknown number of meters underground, possibly the true secret base of this military district.

”Come on, Xiao Li, you explain the apocalyptic chaos intelligence the base has on record to him first.”

Excited, Situ Mo followed the director and Li Qingya into the elevator. As the spirit energy activated and the walls closed, the elevator began to slowly descend amid the grinding metal sounds of aging, making it unclear just how deep this underground base went. From the director’s tone, it seemed like it would take a while.

”Yes.”

In front of the director, due to her inner respect, Li Qingya never showed her gentle side, always presenting herself as stern and serious.

Subsequently, Li Qingya took out a document and looked at Situ Mo.

”Before the apocalyptic chaos, our military district base was secretly named CF-2, tasked with conducting high-end primordial energy research activities in secret. This designation has been passed down. After the apocalypse, due to the base’s location being relatively far from Spirit People City, despite the director sending people several times over the years to contact other bases outside and obtaining intelligence on the survival situation of some Spirit People and Evolved Human bases, CF-2 Base has generally remained relatively closed, seldom disturbed by the outside.”

Saying that, Li Qingya’s expression turned serious.

”Currently, according to intelligence, the survival bases that Spirit People left in this world do not exceed a hundred, and the number of Evolved Humans does not exceed ten thousand. The overall situation of Spirit People in this world has already entered the second tier of racial evolution. The first tier includes three biological groups: Underworlders, Sea Landers, Ancient Dragon People. They have not only better adapted to the survival mode of this apocalyptic chaos but have also evolved some S-Class individual beings!”

S-Class Beings!?

Situ Mo knew that a vitality exceeding 300 meant a B-Class Creature, over 1000 meant an A-Class Creature, so what concept did an S-Class Being entail?

Seeing Situ Mo’s confusion, Li Qingya briefly explained.

”S-Class Beings, also known as Lord-Class creatures, are what Evolved Humans call powerful mutant beasts that even all Grade-A Evolvers cannot deal with. Although among S-Class Beings, there are both strong and weak ones...”

Situ Mo’s face was very grim. Even Grade-A Evolvers with vitality over 1000 couldn’t cope, and here he was, an Evolver with vitality just over 100. Surely he was just prey in their eyes; these S-Class Beings had vitality of at least 3000!

”Haven’t any S-Class Evolved Humans been born among us!?”

Situ Mo asked unwillingly.

”We don’t know; if one does exist, it might only be at A Base. But as of now, CF-2 Base hasn’t established contact with A Base.”

Li Qingya shook her head and continued, ”And among the biological groups of the same level as Evolved Humans, a total of seven have appeared in this world: Rat People, Werewolves, Tree People, Blood Bat People, Ant People, Mud People, Tumor Frog People. As for small intelligent biological groups similar to the Ape People you encountered in intelligence reports a few months ago, they are countless. This world is undergoing intense biological evolution, and this situation may continue for hundreds of years.”

Gulp!

Situ Mo swallowed hard, deeply aware of the crisis Evolved Humans faced.

This world of chaotic apocalypse was no longer the Spirit People World preached by his teachers!

”Then what about our CF-2 Base!?”

Thinking of his own insignificance, Situ Mo immediately thought about the survival of CF-2 Base in such a harsh world, especially since his base only had two B-Class Evolvers. Wouldn’t it be at risk of being wiped out at any moment?

”Rest assured, currently, there are no S-Class Beings near our CF-2 Base, and there is no inescapable extinction crisis. Seven years ago, an A-Class creature attempted a strong attack on the base but was defeated by an A-Class Evolver brought in from M Base in collaboration with the director and doctor. From some perspectives, our base is very fortunate.”

The director, the doctor, and two B-Class Evolvers in CF-2 Base.

Sigh...

With a silent sigh, Li Qingya then added, ”However, in some ways, our CF-2 Base is also extremely unfortunate because, close to our base, a devil slumbers, which we have named the Devil Locustvine!”

Devil!?

The so-called devil refers to the true exotic creatures that have surged into the Spirit People World from the chaos world.

”How much stronger are Devil-Class creatures than S-Class Beings?”

Li Qingya’s expression turned extremely grim, and her eyes were full of fear.

”They belong to a completely different class of creature. Even using the modern Evolved Human perspective, they are no longer considered creatures. Calling them ’God’ wouldn’t be an exaggeration! Otherwise, how could the once glorious Spirit People United Nations have been annihilated?”

”God!?”

Situ Mo’s eyes widened. It was hard to imagine that Evolved Humans educated with the mindset of spiritual technology could utter the word ’God,’ a term contradictory to science.

”I don’t know how strong this Devil Locustvine is because I can no longer obtain specific values. I have seen an S-Class flying creature with vitality at 3795, but even if the vitality of ten such S-Class beings were combined, they would not match the exuberant vitality radiated by this Devil Locustvine. I cannot imagine how such an individual creature evolved to this level! No wonder... even the once-fabled Spiritual Destruction Bomb couldn’t prevent these devils from destroying the Spirit People United Nations.”

Shocked inside, Situ Mo contemplated a being with vitality exceeding 30,000!?

Faced with such an existence, what was he in front of it, a mere humble ant?

Right, the devil with whom he had signed a contract, Oblivion Sorcerer, what was he? Was he also a so-called God?

”Jie jie jie jie, have you realized your insignificance and ignorance, small being? Offer your life and plead for my forgiveness, and I shall grant you greater strength!”

Situ Mo’s face turned pale in an instant, cold sweat drenching him.

”Can you read my mind!?”

Situ Mo roared internally. (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to go to Qidian () to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my biggest motivation. Mobile users, please read on m..)
