A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 910: Chapter 902: Inescapable

”Situ Mo!?”

Li Qingya was splattered with the blood of the Sachi Xieqi Rhino, staring incredulously at the hunched figure in the distance with a pale face. His right hand firmly gripped his left hand, and his eyes were eagerly looking at her while trying to squeeze out an awkward smile.

Kang Peng, with two broken ribs, was struggling to stand with the help of a metal staff, staring in disbelief at Situ Mo. Did... did he really do this?

How could he possibly have such immense strength!?

At the same time, in Li Qingya’s eyes, Situ Mo’s stats underwent a series of changes.

Situ Mo, Vitality: 117, Primordial Energy: 1200!

In disbelief, Li Qingya’s eyes were blank with shock. Reaching 1200 points of Primordial Energy had already reached the standard of a Grade-A Evolver, which only a few large bases like A Base and Base M had: Grade-A Evolvers!

Did his particular ability awaken and evolve?

While Situ Mo tried to convey his ”I’m okay” smile to Li Qingya, he was struggling to control his completely uncontrollable left hand.

”What... what exactly do you want?”

Inside, Situ Mo was roaring at the terrifying devil; the horror of the devil was displayed vividly at this moment.

Everyone’s fate would be filled with countless suffering; this was true destiny.

However, when one has a devil to plead with, even knowing that the devil is luring them step by step into the abyss, to avoid the pain of destiny, they trade with the devil, selling everything they have.

”Ke-ke-ke-ke, what do I want? I am merely fulfilling the contract, doing what I’m supposed to do. Your arm is no longer yours but mine!”

The eerie words originally from the Devil’s Contract now emanated from the left arm, the laughter dark and unrefined.

To a Stigma Sorcerer, a creature that hasn’t even reached the first level is like a bug played with in the palm. Showing false mercy to a bug is utterly boring, which is why the disguise-prone Dark Wizard no longer bothers with it.

Signing a Devil’s Contract with Green does not mean all hope is lost; as long as you become the World Master, you can naturally escape the contract’s constraints.

But, is it really possible?

”I... ah! You devil, I won’t let you have your way! I’d rather lose this left arm!”

With his unyielding character and considerable wisdom, Situ Mo felt an unprecedented crisis from Green’s invasion of his body, strongly resisting. In a fit of impulsive anger, he aimed the Blood Groove Sword at his left arm.

”Situ Mo!”

Li Qingya’s scream caused Situ Mo to halt the Blood Groove Sword.

”What... what are you doing? Are you crazy? Put down the sword!”

Li Qingya hurried to Situ Mo’s side, snatching the sword away, looking at Situ Mo in disbelief. What on earth was he thinking?

”I, I...”

”Ke-ke-ke-ke, I advise you to give up this ignorant behavior. Changing into your arm is only an appearance. Do you really believe chopping off this arm will hurt me? Be smart, you insignificant being. Since the moment you signed the contract, you’ve never been out of my hands, ke-ke-ke-ke...”

After Green’s triumphant cackle, he then spoke in a low voice: ”What’s wrong with trading with a devil? At least the female creature you love is still alive, isn’t she? When your wife and daughter died, if you could have traded your life to bring them back, would you have done it?”

”You! You can bring them back to life?”

Inside, Situ Mo asked incredulously.

A brief silence seemed to touch on some of the devil’s past.

”If I could, I would have hoped for a devil to trade with, but alas, there wasn’t one. You should honestly be your evolved human! Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you, in this female’s eyes, you now have the potential of a Grade-A Evolver, so don’t disappoint her expectations for you, ke-ke-ke-ke-ke...”

As the words faded, the devil’s voice gradually disappeared, and simultaneously, Situ Mo regained control of his left arm.

However, Situ Mo knew that this arm was no longer the same.

”What foolish thing are you doing!?”

Tears falling, Li Qingya looked at Situ Mo with confusion in her eyes.

”I... I can’t control it. It’s an incredibly evil force. I can’t let it run rampant!”

Situ Mo couldn’t outright explain the root cause, only hoping Li Qingya would understand what he was saying.

”What’s evil or just about power? How naive are you? You clearly have such strong power; the evolvers are suffering in this world, yet you suppress it due to fear of your own potential. How can you be so selfish? Do you know how much the chief has sacrificed for the evolvers? Do you know what the doctor sacrificed for CF-2 Base?”

With tears falling, Li Qingya looked at the man she once thought she could trust for life.

”You don’t know, you know nothing. You’re just a selfish person, watching other powerless evolvers sacrifice themselves, yet unwilling to unleash your full power to bear more responsibility for the future of evolvers!”

Appearing deeply disappointed, Li Qingya turned to leave.

Situ Mo’s outstretched right hand hung in the air, wanting to say something, but not knowing how to express it.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom...

On the other side of the main battlefield, the doctor seemed to have aged a decade, with two streams of blood flowing from his nostrils, his eyes rolled back. In an instant, not only did he defeat the B-Class Sachi Xieqi Rhino he fought against, but one after another of the relatively weaker Sachi Xieqi Rhinos also fell.

”Doctor!”

”Doctor...”

The C-Class Evolvers, now free from danger, looked gratefully at the revered doctor.

Once again, he sacrificed his vitality to save everyone from danger, and yet only a few knew he was only forty years old.

For the Savior Plan, he sacrificed too much.

”Don’t just stand there, continue attacking the Sachi Xieqi Rhino King. Just endure through its berserk phase; once the Zhiling Flower toxin takes effect, it won’t have a chance. We will have completed this annual hunt!”

The doctor shouted, urging everyone to set aside their grief and charge at the Sachi Xieqi Rhino King with all their might.

Half an hour later.

As the chief panted, digging out the chaos crystal core of the Sachi Xieqi Rhino King and holding it high, in the cheers of the crowd, Li Qingya cried tears of joy. The doctor, as in previous outbreaks, collapsed into unconsciousness as if letting go of everything.

Inside Situ Mo, two different voices quarreled.

”What devil? If you don’t fight, hesitant and cautious, you wouldn’t even have the chance to become a current C-Class Evolver. Do you want to experience pain like before and disappoint Li Qingya again?”

”It is a devil. It is setting traps, luring you into a dark abyss. It doesn’t just want your soul after death; it wants to take over your body, to strip you of everything. You’re no different from those chaos world demons, equally selfish, greedy, and evil!”

”Ha-ha-ha-ha. Without him, you would have long become food for those mutant beasts, with no qualification to change the evolvers’ situation? At least now, the chance to complete the Savior Plan is within reach!”

Dazed and confused, Situ Mo followed Li Qingya, heading back to CF-2 Base.

...

Wizard World, Oblivion Tower Secret Realm.

”Ke-ke-ke-ke, Devil’s Contract. No wonder it’s the primal force behind the invasion plans of those Foreign Evil Gods, knowing its evil and horror, yet unable to resist its temptation.”

Green wiped the Dream-entering Mirror, looking at the Illusory Lotus he cultivated, and then walked towards the Corpse Synthesis Array research lab.

”That thing has evidently noticed my existence as well, planning to use me? Hmm, quite confident, aren’t they...” (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to vote for recommendation votes and monthly votes on . Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m. to read.)
