A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 905: Chapter 897: Evolved Human

”Hehehe, Situ Mo?”

The military district chief was robust and full of vigor. Intuition told Situ Mo that this was a stronger evolved human. Without hesitation, Situ Mo saluted and said, ”Yes, my name is Situ Mo!”

”Hmm.”

Nodding his head, he glanced at the sparse information about Situ Mo in the documents, and the military district chief tossed the document onto the table.

”When did you discover the mid-evolution, how many days has it been?”

A pair of deep, bottomless eyes stared directly at Situ Mo, making him involuntarily think of the bi-colored eyes in the mirrored screen. In shock, he did not dare to meet the gaze, and said gloomily and sadly, ”Three days, ever since I reported to the military district about the nearby discovered Ape-man Tribe after returning, I found out about the fate of my wife and daughter, and the same day, I discovered the evolution of my body.”

There was no falsification in Situ Mo’s expression of sadness.

Hiss, hu...

Exhaling some dry smoke, the old district chief nodded in understanding.

”Hmm, apart from the hereditary innate evolved humans of the previous generation, many evolved humans gain evolution suddenly after a severe crisis and emotional breakdown. The former Spirit People will inevitably be replaced by future evolved humans who are more suited to the chaotic apocalypse environment. The path of spiritual technology evolution eroded by the chaotic miasma no longer suits this world’s needs. Congratulations on becoming one of the evolved humans. In the future, this world will see the re-emergence of evolved humans.”

Even though his words were meant to be inspirational, they were largely a formality.

Even without access to some high-level secrets, merely hearing some rumors from the lower levels, Situ Mo also understood the terrifying circumstances Spirit People or evolved humans faced in the chaotic apocalypse.

Not to mention the terrifying chaotic world creatures rumored to be called Devils, just the few lord-level, S-class, unbeatable, terrifying creatures of the world that have emerged, and the tribes such as the Underworlders, Sea Landers, Ancient Dragonpeople Tribe, they are all superior to evolved humans in adapting to the chaotic apocalypse. There are also many tribes comparable to evolved humans, such as the Ape-man Tribe explored a few days ago, numbering nearly thousands, with one extinguished today, and two popping up tomorrow.

This world is too chaotic because of the chaotic miasma; whether Spirit People can continue to pass on is still unknown...

”Yes, Chief, I will dedicate my entire strength to the rise of evolved humans!”

Situ Mo roared loudly, his words coming from his heart.

”Hehehe, not bad for a young man. This era of change is also an era of heroes, requiring young people like you with such spirit. Little Li, test his vitality and primordial energy, and register it in the military district.”

Besides the two evolved human guards in the room beside the military district chief, there were a dozen clerical staff, and this ”Little Li” was the chief’s female secretary who seemed to possess some special abilities as an evolved human.

The reflections of light against her black-framed glasses obscured her pupils, and her well-fitted white military uniform accentuated her graceful and tall figure. The green tint on both sides of her cheeks demonstrated the cool yet charming aesthetic of the Spirit People.

”Vitality: 28, Primordial Energy: 0.”

After watching Situ Mo for a while, Little Li solemnly reported two brief results.

”Not bad, just evolved through mutation, and your vitality has already reached twenty-eight. Hahaha, that’s even stronger than some seasoned evolved humans. Hmm, record Situ Mo’s evolution data in the military district, and remember to come over for an assessment every month; the assessment data relates to your military district benefits.”

Saying that, the chief waved his hand, indicating that Situ Mo could leave.

Once Situ Mo left the room, Little Li suddenly said in a low voice, ”Chief, I’m afraid he hasn’t nearly unleashed all of his vitality potential yet.”

”Oh? How much has he unleashed?”

Interested, the chief asked, and even those around looked at Little Li in surprise. With 28 vitality points, it was not weak among evolved humans at the base, and those who could raise their vitality above 15 points were already considered part of the evolved human ranks.

”A quarter or a fifth, maybe even less!”

”Are you kidding?”

A clerical staff member in the room blurted out, and then realized his blunder, closing his mouth. However, this clerical staff member’s doubt clearly was shared by those present, even the chief was no exception.

”Really?”

Little Li nodded steadily but didn’t reply further.

”Oh? That’s excellent! It seems the base will soon have an additional C-class evolver, along with two B-class evolvers, our savior plan might have a better chance of success. Hahaha, during this time, Little Li, pay more attention to this newcomer, assign some training tasks to fully unleash his potential, I think he is quite promising...”

Saying the latter part, the chief even had a slightly teasing tone.

Li Qingya’s face showed a tinge of shyness, every time an excellent evolver emerged, the chief, almost like her father, always made some arrangements, which was indeed embarrassing.

Everyone in the military district, from top to bottom, admired the chief.

Not only because he represents the strongest military force of the district, but also his involvement with the savior plan...

While other bases, even those with Grade-A evolvers or legendary S-class evolvers, were still struggling in the tumultuous chaos of the apocalypse, this chief had already initiated the savior plan within this relatively closed base, striving to save the Spirit People and evolved human civilization.

...

A month later.

Huff, huff, huff, huff...

Under the direction of Li Qingya, Situ Mo sprinted wildly on the military district playground at night along with all the district’s evolvers, so the evolvers could absorb the relatively mild chaotic miasma of the night more effectively, accumulating towards their self-evolution.

The chaotic miasma was a chronic poison to ordinary Spirit People but to the evolved humans and many species adapted to the chaotic apocalypse, it was the source of evolution, the source of strength.

After a full hour, the many evolved humans dispersed, and Situ Mo, sweating and panting, held a damp towel, looking at the evolution test results from the previous month on the list; this was his motivation during his rise.

Situ Mo, Vitality: 56, Primordial Energy: 0, Ranking: 276.

With over seven hundred registered evolved humans in the military district, Situ Mo soared from over five hundred to two hundred seventy-six in just one month, showcasing his substantial potential that had garnered attention from many evolutionaries in the district, viewing him as a competitor.

Anyone whose vitality or primordial energy exceeded 100 would step out of the rank of the lowest D-class evolvers to become C-class evolvers, and there were only eighteen such individuals on the base; evolving past two hundred were only two B-class evolvers.

”Tired?”

Li Qingya had neither a good nor a bad impression of Situ Mo.

However, aside from the immense potential in him, that spirit of dedicating everything to the Spirit People unconsciously attracted Li Qingya, further spurred by some words of advice from the chief, paving the way bit by bit.

”Hmm.”

Panting, in a month Situ Mo had become familiar with this evolved human who possessed primordial energy, it became a habit for him to ask: ”So, has my vitality increased?”

”Yes, it’s already seventy-one points now. Your life potential is truly staggering. Apart from the chief ten years ago, I’ve never seen an evolved human with such astonishing potential. I was quite shocked the first time I saw you.”

With a smile, Li Qingya continued, ”If things keep progressing this way, you’ll soon be able to become a C-class evolver, allowing you to better protect the base, while also providing higher permissions within the base to learn about some elevated plans.”

”Just a C-class evolver...”

Situ Mo smiled and replied, ”What if I want to become a B-class evolver like the Chief?”

Furrowing her brow, Li Qingya thought for a moment and said, ”Your potential is indeed astonishing, but not nearly reaching the level of a B-class evolver. The chief attained his rank through years of training accumulation and continuously absorbing chaos crystal cores, resulting in the B-class evolver he is today. So once you’ve maximized your potential, you should attempt to hunt the mutant beasts outside to obtain chaos crystal cores for evolution. This is the temporarily known fast path of evolution for our kind...”

Thinking of the savior plan, she adjusted her words, her eyes filled with an enthusiastic light.

Is this the only rapid evolution method?

Involuntarily, Situ Mo thought of the sacrificial pact on his chest, the hoarse laughter sounding at midnight was always on time.

No, I must not open the Devil seal. I will rely on the way of the evolved humans to save this world — I can do it!

Continually cheering himself on, Situ Mo smiled and continued to train double hard after Li Qingya left.

Time passed unnoticed, with myriad changes in the chaotic apocalypse, Situ Mo’s impassioned days of struggle finally came. Upon becoming the nineteenth C-class evolver at the base, with a vitality reaching 112 points, he noticed that the accumulation from his training could no longer provide rapid evolution.

”It’s time to hunt outside for chaos crystal cores!”

”Kikikikiki, reaching your limit, have you? Pathetic creature, plead for my pardon and offer your life, and you will gain more power...”

Situ Mo ignored it. (To be continued. If you like this work, you’re welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets on . Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m. to read.)
