A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 686: Chapter 686: Rising Reputation

Time passes.

For the demon hunters participating in the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings, apart from focusing on their own rankings, the greatest pleasure is collecting intelligence to exchange information, locating each other, attempting to make a name for themselves and receive a demon hunter title, and speculating about the strength rankings among the top three of the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings.

Now, only one month remains until the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings conclude, and Green’s third challenger can no longer appear.

The reason is simple, Yachi and the third-ranking challenger demon hunter have been ”battling” fiercely in the world fragment for several years without a definitive outcome!

Even if the demon hunter challenging Yachi wins and achieves second place, it is impossible to wait for the other two third-ranked demon hunters to each accumulate three victories and challenge her, gathering three victory opportunities to challenge Green.

The demon hunters ranked fourth to one hundred are anxious and furious!

The third-ranked demon hunter has been in the world fragment for years, and the fierce struggle that was supposed to begin towards the end of the hundred years of the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings is now replaced by an endless duel between the third and second ranks.

At the top of the Tree of Life, Green is aware of these things but does not pay much attention.

It seems Yachi is in a weak position, unable to defeat the opponent, nor can the opponent easily defeat Yachi as Green did once upon finding her trace, resulting in this prolonged battle.

Neither side can afford to lose!

Currently, Green’s Demon Hunting Castle frequently receives visits from unfamiliar wizards.

Some of these wizards are secondary demon hunters residing on the Tree of Life, living close to Green’s Demon Hunting Castle, while others are wizards from various families in the central region of the Seven-Ring Holy Tower.

The Zijin Fragrance Family offered over a hundred Witch Essences as a heavy gift but did not engage much further and left. Green had already signed a Seven Rings Sacred Tower contract with them during his wizard apprentice period, becoming a nominal elder of their family.

Among the visiting families are Amrond and Isabelle’s Isar Family.

The Isar Family delivered a handwritten letter from Amrond, expressing a desire for closer cooperation with Green, congratulating him on achieving first place in the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings, and inviting Green to become an honored elder of the Isar Family...

Over a hundred families, large and small, visited; nearly every day, Green had to deal with these matters, including some deeply rooted superfamilies. Even Green could not handle them lightly, requiring proper wizard etiquette for reception, wasting considerable time.

For Green, who was eager to complete the fifth installment of the Face of Truth project, this was torture.

It shows that once joining a certain power, while it brings resource access convenience, it inevitably comes with various problems, distracting the wizard’s energy from focusing entirely on research as in the low-grade wizard period.

”Young master!”

Xiao Ba’s shout was heard, making Green, who had just politely turned down the Wiki Family’s invitation, frown in irritation and impatience, saying, ”Who is it this time, can’t you turn them away?”

”Gurgle gurgle, I’m afraid not, it’s Solon and the former Heisota Sorcerer Academy!”

Upon hearing about the Heisota Sorcerer Academy, Green couldn’t help but rub his brow. The Heisota Sorcerer Academy, after the Black Tower Stigma Sorcerer fell to Aibadang’s King of the Infernal Giants under the Purgatory Furnace, was taken over by a Stigma Sorcerer affiliated with the Seven Rings Holy Tower, resulting in a name change, no longer the former Heisota Sorcerer Academy.

But the affection between Green and the Heisota Sorcerer Academy remains real, leading the new academy headmaster to persuade him.

It seems this new academy has indeed declined. The former Heisota Academy was a feared Dark Wizard Academy, even for many Bright Sorcerer Academies, whose initial fate was to steal Green from the Bright Sorcerer path.

And this time, if Solon himself comes along...

”Then let’s meet them.”

Sighing, Green began to ask Lab to prepare a new ceremonial banquet.

”It’s him indeed!”

Accompanying Solon was naturally Faceless Masked Ni’ermoza, now the headmaster of the new academy.

With a flat face without features, a black crow on the shoulder exuding ominousness, the parrot-like raspy voice from the wizard robe telling of the cruel wizard from the bloody elimination on the sea wheel.

Viewing from the height of a Third-Level Great Sorcerer, Green reckoned that his survival was more due to the whim of this cruel wizard.

Otherwise, the real outcome should have been what the broomstick-riding old witch said as they arrived at the Heisota Sorcerer Academy port, ignoring Green and other ”inferior” wizard apprentices with slim chances in the Holy Tower qualifying battle, left to perish at sea.

Green’s foundational knowledge of Ultrasonic Positioning witchcraft originated from this renowned sonic wizard of the Heisota Sorcerer Academy.

Now, Ni’ermoza was no longer someone Green must look up to. Instead, it requires Ni’ermoza to personally visit him with disciples to facilitate a meeting.

”Green, the mentor wishes to see you, hoping you can...”

Solon took on the role of a negotiator, and Green, seasoned with dozens of such experiences, began another round of unfinished refusals.

...

Having just politely declined and seen Ni’ermoza and Solon off, Xiao Ba came flying by again!

Lab hadn’t even had time to change and clean the ceremonial tableware.

”Who’s it this time, can’t you turn them away?”

Xiao Ba stuck out his tongue: ”It’s a Stigma Sorcerer and a demon hunting battle Stigma Sorcerer! Young master, are you sure about refusing to meet?”

Another demon hunting battle...

After Laphie’s death, Green didn’t want to join a wizard organization, and this was the third invitation, this time from a Stigma Sorcerer!

But Green was no longer a low-grade wizard; demon hunting battle couldn’t bring him any convenience now, joining demon hunting battle merely added a status and some duties.

Yet if a Stigma Sorcerer visits, Green can’t refuse to meet, it would be impolite.

”Lab, prepare for the highest wizard etiquette...”

...

Meeting after meeting, Green was growing extremely weary.

Did Master Sister Youquan experience the same?

No, from the mentor’s descriptions, Master Sister Youquan was probably even more extravagant than Green now, as his generation’s Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings didn’t have any stunningly powerful figures. Green could only attract attention from a few Seven-Ring Holy Tower families and affiliated powers.

To them, Green was just an ordinary first place in the hundred-year cycle of the Seven Rings Sacred Tower Rankings.

Of course, the First-Level Honor Medal did bring Green quite a bit of attention.

”Gurgle gurgle, young master, young master, it’s incredible! Even Mili, Mina, and their parents have arrived!” (To be continued. If you like this work, please vote for recommendations and monthly votes at Qidian (), your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read at m..)
